It is shorter in length then the plug in and the battery life is awful! I really wanted to like the cordless option but not worth the extra money and time it takes to charge. I will likely reorder the flat iron with the cord, my extension bar and color hair stylist both have the GHD Platinum plug-in and they both recommend this as a flat iron and curler and love it!

I bought this for travel use. It is perfect for short hair. I have short hair. I love it.

GHD is a great brand, and their straighters have always been hight quality. That being said, this one was disappointing. The plates are VERY small, so if you have long or thick hair, this will be a challenge. You also cannot control the temperature setting, and the charge dies very quickly. Wanted to love it, but these were deal breakers for me.

It straightens well but the charge doesn't hold at all. It's dead by the time I'm even done with half of my hair so then I have to wait for it to charge again so I wind up using my other straightener because it takes so long for this one to charge. Most likely I'm gonna return it.

This straightener works very well and the battery lasts long enough for two sessions on my shoulder-length hair. Alas, I found out the hard way that it is not an acceptable item to travel with through all airports. Since this type of battery is not allowed in checked baggage, I had my Unplugged flat iron in my carry-on bag. I had no problem with this in US airports, however, when departing Japan the airport security staff would not let me take it through the checkpoint. I was informed that because it didn't have "flight mode" or a removable battery that I was not allowed to carry it on the plane. (Luckily I had time to race back and mail it to myself from the airport post office!). I am back to lugging my old corded GHDs around when flying, which truly defeated the purpose of buying this product in the first place.
