The unit is very light and easy to work with. Not having to contend with a cord makes using this flat iron a piece of cake !! The only downfall is the battery life. Very short, about 15-20 minutes in total. Which means I need to recharge every 2 uses.

I was dubious about this purchase. However once it charges fully, this takes about two hours, it is not hot. You can put it in it's fabulous little case and carry it in your purse or travel bag. Since I have fine shoulder length hair the size of the heating panels is not an issue. I can do quick touch ups on the go. For me the charge it lasts about four days. Love it.

GHD perfection in a smaller size!
I very rarely write reviews but my experience with this product has been so outstanding that I feel compelled to do so. I have had the standard 1" GHD corded flat iron for years. I travel every week for work and the regular corded version is too bulky to fit in a carry-on packed for a week. I initially bought a cheap USB flat iron, which apart from being lightweitgh, just pulled my hair and didn't deliver any results. I thought long and hard about investing this much in a travel flat iron. Am I glad I did - haven't looked back since. I have long but frizzy and thin hair that needs straightening to look good. The charge in this unplugged version is easily enough to do all of my hair, and it delivers the same gorgeous GHD quality results I am used to with my corded version at home. It can also be used for touch-ups. Perfect for travel and every globe (or any other distance) trotters dream product! Well worth the investment - couldn't recommend more.

I've just ordered an unplugged straightener and was really excited about it as I have an old GHD that works perfectly even after 7 years or so. Unfortunately, I'm not happy with this product. Upon my first use, I noticed the whole device was very hot, to the point where it was uncomfortable to hold it. I made sure I charged the battery to its fullest before the first use. But still the battery was out after only 15 minutes, and not 20 according to specifications. So the job was left undone… But I'm very concerned about the heating up while using, is this a normal thing? If so, don't think will get used to that.
