It's Working…WooHoo

Hair Type Straight Hair

I'm a 71 yr old female who has always had fine, thin, straight, oily hair. My hair began shedding in 2019, but during and after covid, I really began to lose a lot of hair, even though I never got the virus. I was thinning up front, at the sides, and at my crown. Hair was coming out in handfuls, and I was even seriously looking at wigs. I tried minoxidil, which left my scalp and roots very greasy and my scalp itchy. Yeah, I grew hair, but once I stopped using minoxidil, I lost all the hair I grew. I began searching all kinds of shampoos, conditioners, and scalp treatments to block DHT and stimulate hair follicles. I spent at least a thousand dollars on products that either went into the garbage or into a box to be donated to an elderly facility. The dermatologist said I had folliculitis and androgenetic alopecia. The medicated scalp treatment and shampoo just fried my hair and made my scalp breakout. UGH, what a mess!!! Being a retired RN, I'm into evidence based practice research, and I found medical research touting the effects of ingredients called Redensyl and Procapil. The research indicated that there was a good chance that these ingredients could grow new hair, but not overnight. The articles stated that hair growth could be seen in 3-6 months with the most benefit noted at 12 months. Well, I found this Coco and Eve Tripeptide Hair Density Serum, which contains both Redensyl and Procapil plus caffeine, which is also supposed to stimulate the hair follicles. The serum is fragrance free and of an extremely light consistency…almost like water. I must admit that I'm not one to follow instructions to the letter. It says to apply to a dry scalp, however, I apply the serum to a clean, freshly shampooed, DAMP scalp. I find that it's easier to apply, massage into the scalp, and a smaller amount is needed then when applying to a dry scalp. Also, applying it to a damp scalp doesn't leave any residue feeling. I use 2.5 droppers full on my entire scalp….front, both sides, top, crown, and back. After 3 months of application, I began to see shoots of hair sticking up in the front hairline and new growth on the sides and top. But, here's the clincher, after 3 months, my long standing hairstylist inspected my scalp and hair condition as she always does before foiling my hair. She was shocked!!! She said that I had 30% new growth!!! OMGoodness!!! That almost sounds like a personal miracle for my balding head/scalp. As an experiment, I stopped using the product for 1 month to see if I'd lose the new hair like with minoxidil. Nope! The new hair is still there and continuing to grow. If I could have given this 4.5 stars, I would have because I'm still having hair shedding, but not as significant prior to using this product. I would recommend this product, but I can't emphasize enough….this is not an overnight fix. As stated above, it takes 3-6 months to see new growth and a full 12 months to see what the full effect will be on your hair follicles. I'm not near my 12 months, but I am pleasantly surprised and thrilled my hair growth. I didn't receive any products or remuneration for this review. I purchased this serum with my own funds. PS. I'm on my second bottle and have bought a stash during sales.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I've been using this about a month. maybe 4 times a week. I think these serums take 3-4 months to begin seeing true differences but I do want to say I was incredibly concerned after reading the directions upon receiving the delivery. You massage into your scalp with DRY clean hair. As a fine thin hair girlie, I was so concerned this would leave a greasy residue or make my hair look greasy but it doesn't! Which of course you would expect with a product designed with my hair type in mind. they really put a lot of thought into this product because once it dries, you can't even tell that I've added anything to my scalp. additionally, I don't feel that my hair appears any more greasy in-between washes. overall, I'm happy with this purchase and I'll continue using it to see if it truly makes a difference.
