Most Helpful Positive Review I will be buying this product again
I've been bleaching my hair for months and buying a cheap purple shampoo. I spent some extra money to try this and I was not disappointed. It took so much yellow out of my hair in one wash. It smells great too. The photo included in my review is the before and after of 1 wash with this shampoo.
Most Helpful Critical Review Has sulfates!!!
This product was recommended to me after I had my hair professionally highlighted with blonde highlights and toner at Ulta Salon, as I usually do. I thought I'd give it a try, to see if it would help my color job last longer. I was using it for 2 months, without noticing a difference. I did notice that it dried out my hair, and my highlights lost their luster quickly (why didn't I just stop then?!). I continued using it even after another fresh round of highlights. Well, I finally read the ingredients, and I was SHOCKED that Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS) was at the top of the list! I am a pharmacist, and I should know better to read the ingredients. I had my Ulta stylist telling me to use a sulfate-free shampoo, and in the same breath recommending this shampoo that contains sulfates! I believe it has been stripping the toner straight out!
I would chalk this up to simply making a bad choice/switch of shampoos, EXCEPT that I had two Ulta stylists recommend it to me on TWO separate occasions after getting my hair cut and colored. I also read reviews of this product, and other people who tried it also mentioned that it was recommended.
To add insult to injury, the manufacturer's representative totally side-steps any questions about this product containing sulfates -- "we do not claim to be a sulfate-free product" one answer states. Just state that "yes, this product contains sulfates" -- outrageous, because you may be destroying the color treatments that people pay a lot for and spend a lot of time on!

Love This Shampoo!

I needed a "purple" shampoo to address hair issues with brassiness. Was very happy to find this Matrix "So Silver" shampoo in our local ULTA store. It brightens up my blonde hair color and diffuses the brassiness
very well. Leaves hair shiny too!
I'm going to be honest

I use purple hair care a lot. I have platinum blonde hair. It's smells nice. It's a darker vibrant purple so I had high hopes. I shampooed twice. (In one shower better results if you do it twice and leave it in)First was normal but second time I put it on I left it in my hair for 5-8 minutes. Rinsed and then used the conditioner of the same name. It's just meh results. It was a very subtle difference. While the shimmering lights brand has better results - this matrix one left my hair feeling better. Like it was softer.. not as dry and deff no random stained purple spots I couldn't rinse off. I will bug this again I just wish it was more potent.
Will be returning

Smells like a gas station bathroom air freshener.
Barely toned my hair. I rather use my joico purple shampoo
If you're thinking about it, get it!!

So I'm usually light goldy blonde by the last time I went to the hairstylist, my hair came out orangey/yellow. I have been extremely upset and even got my hair toned at a diffferent place and still no luck. I saw the shampoo, gave it a try and YESSS. I only used it once and it got rid of the orange for sure, but I'll have to use it again to specific part of my hair to make it even. Get it:) worth it for sure. Made my confidence go up

Brass off is better for blonde hair. Sounds weird considering it's more blue but it's a blue purple not worth the money
For any color hair…

I gave up buying 2 shampoos and we both use the Matrix for silver hair. I have brown hair with silver strands scattered. It works for both of us. I buy the large size and have a pump for dispensing.
Does nothing for my hair

I've used redken and catwalk before and loved both - this did absolutely nothing for me. I left it in my hair and even double washed and nothing. I tried again and still nothing. It's horrible
Okay purple shampoo

Use this about once a week to decrease my brassiness. I leave it in longer, but always have to follow up with a deep conditioner as it's pretty drying. It has a great deep purple color, but I find that it works best if you leave it in longer than what is recommended on the bottle. If I don't leave it on longer it doesn't work well. Has never turned my hair purple, either.

I read so many reviews, watched so many videos, even asked my hair stylist about this shampoo before buying it. Sad to say this didn't work for me. Made my hair nice when applied, thought everything was great. Beautiful lather..... then I wash it out. My hair felt so gummy it literally scared me. The product didn't really do anything for my hair. Will be returning. I have used the "Total Results So Silver Triple Power Hair Mask". It works great didn't dry my hair out at all. I try to stay away from Parabens, Silicones & Sulfates. It does contain amodimethicone. But I prefer the mask over shampoo for my blonde hair.

Leaves my gray hair soft and manageable.
I would buy this again.

Read all of the reviews and decided to give it a try……..definitely will be returning. I don't feel like it did anything to my blonde hair.
I have used this product for 3-years

I use this shampoo to rid my hair of the yellowing that occurs from sun exposure. My hair is more white than gray - sometimes described by others as silver. It does a good job. I live in Arizona with lots of heat and sun exposure. This works perfectly for me. I am 76 years old and still managing my own hair.

I saw reviews about the smell, that's sometimes normal with purple shampoos. They're not made to make your hair smell good, they're used to process it.
Anyways, I was not a huge fan of this. It did minimal work to my processed hair. Good for the price though.
I am buying this shampoo and rinse again and again

I received a sample of Redken's product. I did notice more hair in the drain and didn't like the reviews. I decided to try something different.
I would buy this product again.

Best product ever!!

Best toner ever!! I tried so many different ways and products a nothing did anything. This got me this silvery hair I wanted. It tends to leave in purple streaks at first which I like. I put it on my dry hair and left it for 30 minutes the washed it out and conditioned my hair.
This did exactly what I needed it to.

I had my hair recently coloured with purple, gray and blonde. Originally I started using the Keep Me Vivid line to maintain the purple, but I noticed the purple disappeared and I started to go terribly brassy, within just a couple of weeks. I switched to this and the improvement was noticeable the first use - the brassiness faded a little more over the next couple of uses, and added bonus, I can now see the purple again as well :)
The conditioner really keeps my hair soft and healthy looking, after the damage done with the colouring.
