Most Helpful Positive Review Works Well ok, let me first say that I didn't want to like this stuff! HOWEVER,,,it does work nicely. I have had a dry flaky scalp for 20 years and this stuff cures it in one wash. I hated the smell in the bottle and in the shower,,,HOWEVER the smell changes once your hair dries and it does smell great during the day--never thought I'd say that! I don't use it everyday so I can't review it on daily use, but I do use it off and on between my other shampoos. I will always own a bottle of this stuff. If you are buying it because you have a flaky scalp,,,let me tell you this. Just about any shampoo you buy that is a PROFESSIONAL shampoo will do the job. What is drying everyones scalp out are the cheap products that all contain SULFATEs--which help you hair lather up like in the commercials. They cheap products are loaded up heavily with sulfates, the professional shampoos have less sulfates to NO sulfates. My other recommendations would be AG Smooth, AG Colour Saviour, Pureology, Alterna Caviar and anything by LIVING PROOF!!!!! All of them will eliminate your dry scalp! Also, use a clarifing shampoo once a week to eliminate buildup, which can also cause dry scalp. OH,,,one last tip,,,it is not good for everyone to wash every other day or two if they have a dry scalp. I get a dry scalp because even though my hair/scalp seem dry to me, the scalp is actually clogging itself with daily oil, which then creates the dandruff. Washing my hair EVERYDAY has eliminated the flakes as well. So if you use professional products and still have a dry scalp, switch to washing every day or opposite depending on what you currently do.
Most Helpful Critical Review Good as a clarifying shampoo, not for dandruff I have been taking medication that gives me a severe dry scalp. A hair stylist suggested I use this to cure it and it may help with occasional flakes but i don't suggest for sever dry scalp. I think this is more geared toward removing residue and thoroughly cleaning build up from the scalp rather than actual dry scalp. If you find your hair greasy and lifeless this should help with that as a once a week treatment but for severe dandruff try Biolage Scalpsync it saved my scalp!

Nice shampoo and it felt like it was working well with the tingling. Gets the build-up from products etc out of your hair.
Hair loss 3
Ale from Kerman
I did like the way it made my hair and scalp feel but I was losing a lot of hair in every wash. Also the build up was pretty bad. I've used this shampoo for about a month/2 months. If I didn't lose so much hair and the build up wasn't as bad,
then I would give it a 5/5.
Horrible 1
Jay from Anaheim
I wanted to love this so bad, I will say it smells great and did leave my hair feeling very clean and a fresh tingly scalp, unfortunately it made my thick hair so thin because of how much was falling out after just one use. Had to return will never purchase again
Smells good 4

I bought this for my teen daughter she has oily hair, and flaky itchy scalp, so I bought Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo, she uses it every other day, and it helps the itchy oily scalp. Her hair is now soft and manageable, without flakes.
Oily hair - Does not work 1
ST from Sacramento, CA
Bought this to treat my oily scalp but it doesn't work. It does a thorough job in cleansing but that's it, the oils return as usual. Leaves a mint tingly feeling on the scalp.
Nice shampoo. 3
PeaceMom from Iowa
This shampoo thoroughly cleanses. Lathers well. It's a little harsh for every day and the scent is gag-worthy. I don't think I can get past the smell to buy it again.
UNDERSTAND 5
Talie from Kansas City MO
this is a detox before you shampoo your hair it gets all of the grease and leftover residue out of your hair then you use your shampoo and condition your hair
Would buy again! 4

I use this product every few weeks it's definitely not an every day shampoo but it helps your scalp almost immediately! I love the minty fresh tingle! When only using the shampoo it can clump up when in the shower but that's why you use the conditioner! I use Joico shampoo and conditioner for when I normally wash my hair however when my scalp is feeling like it needs to be revitalized the Tea Tree Special Shampoo and even the Tea Tree Lavender Mint Deep Conditioner packet is my go to, it always has been and always will be!
Tried once= DRY hair 1
Verenice from AZ
My hair can withstand A LOT and after reading some of these bad reviews I thought to myself "oh that won't happen to me!" Well I tried this shampoo and my scull was very tingly which felt awesome and after conditioning my hair I hopped out the shower and let my hair air dry, like always. That night my hair felt so dry and it was getting tangled easily! I washed my hair in two days using Paul Mitchell's Clean Beauty shampoo followed by conditioner and BOOM my hair is back to its normal softness! Try this tea tree shampoo for yourself or believe the bad reviews!
Would not buy again 3

The shampoo smells great, makes the scalp feel clean ( if you chew 5 gum then drink cold water after) but my hair fell out in CHUNKS. Idk if that is normal but if probably only use this to "exfoliate" my scalp.
Don't buy!!! Causes hair loss and welts! 1
Sarah from ST. Louis
Loved the tingling feeling and how my hair looked. However after about a month of using, my hair is falling out, I have very itchy welts on my scalp, and really bad dandruff.
Great for dry scalp! 5
Diana from Texas
I had dry scalp and flakes, used tea tree shampoo and conditioner and it worked wonderfully!
Didn't end up finishing 1
Kiersten from New York
I'm sure that it works great for some people, however like others, this made my hair fall out in CLUMPS. It was so bad that it became a routine that in 2 washes I had to unclog my drain because it was packed with hair. Made my hair feel incredibly dry (luckily the conditioner repaired that a bit) but I couldn't get halfway through the bottle and will be tossing it
Use sparingly 2

It worked for my scalp in the beginning and cleared my dandruff…. But then it made my hair fall out in chunks!!! I'd recommend using it once a month or something. It's definitely not for daily use. My friend also bought this and had the same hair issue as me.
Amazing results! 5

Hair loss 1
Lauren9 from Michigan
I was hoping this would help my hair but it caused a significant amount of hair loss in the shower and when I brushed my hair I even had more coming out. I also used the conditioner tea tree with the shampoo.
Best Shampoo! 5

I've been using this shampoo for years and I love it! I'm a runner, so this helps my hair feel super clean after a sweaty workout with no buildup like with other brands. I do not wash my hair everyday, but I can see how this can be drying for someone that does not have oily hair. I highly recommend this for someone that works out frequently.
Absolutely, and did! 5

So Invigorating!!!
Don't get the hype 3
Lulu4733 from Louisiana
Honestly bought this because of good reviews but it made my hair pretty dry and the conditioner didn't do much to counter it. Smelled good though. Also I needed like 4 pumps for it to lather properly in my hair which I feel is a lot for a thicker shampoo like this one, but I do have wavy thick hair so maybe just not made for my hair type.
Did not work for Bi-Racial Hair 1
Julie from Shreveport LA
I purchased this after several people in the store and beauty influence's suggested this for dry scalp. The smell is wonderful, however it made my hair BRICK hard while washing it. After 3 days from washing my hair my scalp is very itchy and inflamed. I even used the conditioner but it did the same. It could be my type of hair, but I wouldn't waste my money on it. I only wash my hair once a week and I couldn't even make it that long!!
My hair was silky and soft on the shower drain. 1
Brian from Oakland
I loved every thing about this shampoo but it became obvious that my hair was falling out in clumps. I thought it might be something else but the only thing that changed was my use of this shampoo. Wish I'd read the reviews first. I love everything about it except the fact it's making me bald.
Love 4
Leah from Hattiesburg, MS
My wife and I love using this stuff, it smells sooo good, and I naturally have super oily hair follicles so this helps dry it up a little. We LOVE the cooling sensation on the scalp too!
Best tea tree shampoo 5
K2 from Seattle
Best tea tree shampoo. Tried others but they are not the same.
Not for my hair or skin type! 2
Abby from North Carolina
Wanted to love this product, unfortunately I did not. It caused scalp pimples/sores and made my scalp more flakey then before use. Also made my hair fall out a little more than usual. There are much better clarifying shampoos I've tried. The smell and tingle feeling is great and what I love about this product but I definitely do not like how it made my scalp and hair feel/look.
Caused hair loss 1
Briar Rose from Manassas, VA
I bought this for my husband after he had tried it when staying with a friend a couple months ago. I was worried about other reviews mentioning hair loss but thought it would be fine since he tried it before. I was right to be worried--his first time using it his hair started falling out and covering his fingers! We thought maybe it was a fluke and tried again a few days later and same result; he also ended up with little welts where the hair fell out. Maybe there was a change in formula or we got a bad batch but either way, never using this stuff again.
