I bought this because I was super curious about the scent. From other reviews, I gathered that some people love the scent and others dislike it. Now that I am washing my hair with this, I report the scent is not strong. You have to sniff it to smell it, not like you get a strong scent just by washing your hair. I like the scent but it isn't so unique and awesome that I would buy this repeatedly. However I also appreciate that the shampoo seems light and easy on my hair, like baby shampoo only better, perhaps more moisturizing. I had to get the entire pump out and dry it off to get it to open correctly but now it is fine. Overall I really like this and feel curious to try their other products.

I recently got the California Naturals Super Moisture Shampoo because it promises smooth, hydrated strands with a clean ingredient list. It's made with avocado oil, guava seed, and marula oil, and the bottle states that it's free from sulfates, parabens, and silicones with 99% natural ingredients. As someone who colors my hair, the fact that it's safe for color treated hair and comes in a recycled plastic bottle from a woman owned business added to its appeal. The shampoo has a "summer fig" fragrance that I found light and lovely, perfect for spring or summer. The instructions say to use a quarter sized amount, and I learned quickly that a little goes a long way. The first time I used it, I overdid it and felt like it stripped my hair; when I used just a tiny amount, it worked much better. I didn't have the matching conditioner, but even on its own the shampoo left my hair feeling clean and nicely clarified. I wouldn't say my hair felt overly hydrated, but it did feel refreshed and reset. Overall, I appreciate the natural ingredient list and eco friendly packaging, and the scent is enjoyable without being overpowering. Just remember to use a small amount to avoid overcleansing, and consider pairing it with a conditioner if you need extra moisture.
