Can this be used with Clinique Clarifying Face Lotion Toner 2 - Dry Combination?
- Asked by Ana
- Official Answer By The Ordinary - Brand EngageHi there! Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to comment on the pairing of our products with those of other brands. This serum has changed my face
This serum has changed my face and simplified my routine. I used to layer a whole lot of different serums and creams, different ingredients to do different things, but then this one came along and cleared out my cupboard. Firstly I pop on a generous dollop of The Ordinary "Niacinamide & Zinc" seru...

Disappointed
I really love this company and their products but this one was a miss for me. Not only did it not treat the redness, but it actually amplified it. When I put it on, my skin reacts to it and I turn cherry red. I really wanted to love this product.

Visible results overnight!
I use this serum alongside niacinamide and hylauronic acid and if I skip this one I can notice the difference! It leaves my skin more even and plump looking after just one use.
Good but bad
I love this product so much. I could definitely see a difference in my skin, but I hate the smell and it makes my skin Pink if you want to use this I would recommend only using it at night.
The ordinary pink stuff
I love this product. after cleaning my face in the am , i apply this to my face and neck and it makes it feel more hydrated and dewy . I love a product that makes my dry skin feel healthier. Plus the color is fun.
Helpful, but not essential
I absolutely LOVE The Ordinary!!! With these inexpensive products, you can put together a personalized skin care regimen that meets your exact needs without paying for a lot of ingredients you probably don't need and/or going through some expensive customization service. Granted, my regimen consists of about a dozen products, so I could save time by spending more money, but the results I've gotten from the regimen I've put together are undeniable! My skin looks firmer, healthier, and younger. This product I don't use everyday. It certainly does as advertised, but I'll skip it if I'm in a hurry.
Good stuff
Highly recommend this for dryness and peeling caused by prescription acne treatment!! Bummed to see some bad reviews on here, because I've had a great experience with this product. I have cystic acne and the topicals I use to help manage it are Winlevi (godsend) and Aklief, a .05% retinol prescription. The Aklief really dries out my skin (no surprise there) but it helps so much I didnt want to stop using it. So I searched for something to help balance the dryness and peeling I was experiencing and landed on this product from the ordinary. It makes such a difference! It says it restores the skin barrier within 2 hours of application and I really do notice it within that timeframe. Even better when I put it on at night and have some hours without makeup or other environmental issues attacking my face. I apply it right after the winlevi and aklief, and before moisturizer. Have not had any pilling. It goes on light and does not clog my pores. My only complaint is you have to make sure not to touch the sides of the bottle with the applicator because it does gum up on the outsides pretty quickly if you do. So just be careful when taking the applicator in and out of the bottle. But even that is not a complaint about the product itself, just the packaging. This is such good stuff and i hope they keep making it a long time! I'm about to switch up my moisturizer to one with spf in it and will report back on how that goes
