What gives this serum its shocking pink color? Was that necessary for a product for people who are probably already experiencing some redness? I have never used a product with that coloring before and am curious what causes it.
- Asked by AnnaMK
- Official Answer By The Ordinary - Brand EngageHey there! The pink colour comes from the Vitamin B12 in the formula! It reduces dryness and the look of redness while giving the serum its pink hue. We hope this helps! Was this answer helpful to you

This serum has changed my face
This serum has changed my face and simplified my routine. I used to layer a whole lot of different serums and creams, different ingredients to do different things, but then this one came along and cleared out my cupboard. Firstly I pop on a generous dollop of The Ordinary "Niacinamide & Zinc" seru...

Disappointed
I really love this company and their products but this one was a miss for me. Not only did it not treat the redness, but it actually amplified it. When I put it on, my skin reacts to it and I turn cherry red. I really wanted to love this product.

Great but it pills
I'd give this one more try, but warning: it pills. Next time, I'll try using like... half a pea-sized amount. Otherwise, it works well on my skin.
This ish is AMAZING
I suffer from Rosacea, and in turn I experience acne as a result of a rosacea breakout - it's an unfortunate cycle. The soothing barrier support serum is THE ONLY affordable, quality product on the market (non Rx) that does an amazing job. It will help to eliminate the Redness from the Rosacea and keep your moisture barrier stronger, which is important for managing rosacea symptoms. It does take about 3-5 days to begin to see a difference, so be patient! It will restructure the surface of your skin (in a good way). You can wear it under moisturizer, sunscreen, makeup, etc. There is Not an oily texture, and the product smells natural and quickly absorbs into your skin when applied. 10/10 for The Ordinary on this one.
Skin rashes
The Ordinary is the only brand I use for my skin and hair. After trying several other products from The Ordinary, I decided to give this one a try, but it was a complete disappointment. It caused rashes around my nose area. I tested it three separate times with gaps in between, but the same reaction occurred each time.
Broke my face out
I tried lessening my useage of it to only once a day, to then twice a week, but my face was incredibly oily, to the point where my skin became severely dried out (worsening the issue of dead skin I was trying to fix beforehand) and my pores got clogged from all the excess oil on my face. Caused a bad acne breakout on my chin that is still healing. I would not recommend for oily or acne prone sensitive skin.
Restock!! Love it so much?
Helps so much with redness and skin feeling hydrated!
