This serum has changed my face

This serum has changed my face and simplified my routine. I used to layer a whole lot of different serums and creams, different ingredients to do different things, but then this one came along and cleared out my cupboard. Firstly I pop on a generous dollop of The Ordinary "Niacinamide & Zinc" seru...

Disappointed

I really love this company and their products but this one was a miss for me. Not only did it not treat the redness, but it actually amplified it. When I put it on, my skin reacts to it and I turn cherry red. I really wanted to love this product.

Took my skin months to recover from this!

I stupidly used more than half of a bottle of this product before realizing it was the source of what look like acne on my chin. Red, bumpy, so dry it was flaking, hard to cover with makeup. Once I stopped using it, it took my skin 3-4 months to heal to where I no longer had the large, flaking, red acne on my chin. Horrible product for me, someone with sensitive skin no less!

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

OBSESSED w this. I'm 26 and have struggled for the last 3 years with dryness and eczema on my face. It was itchy, soooo uncomfortable and only $$$ derm creams seemed to help. This paired w the milky toner has CHANGED MY LIFE!! My skin is dewy, hydrated, and clearer than ever. It is truly such a gentle but effective product. I'm obsessed and will buy forever lol

Around my mid 30s my skin just totally changed if became extremely sensitive I've tried hundreds of different products and I've been using ordinary now for two years I've still messed around with a few other things that I've supposedly for sensitive skin, but they always seem to damage my face. This product has been extremely well for my sensitive skin. I'm 45 years old now and I take pride and having a useful complexion.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Q
I purchased this, but are you supposed to layer it with any other serums or anything bc you skin started to pill up after I applied my HYA and then moisturized.
Asked by Compromised Barrier
Official Answer By The Ordinary - Brand Engage
Soothing & Barrier Support Serum can be layered with other serums. As it is an emulsion, we recommend applying it after water-based serums and using 2-3 drops for the entire face to avoid pilling. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
I use a cleaner, retinol alternative, niacinamide and caffeine under my eyes. What order should I do those and this serum?
Asked by Elizabeth
Official Answer By The Ordinary - Brand Engage
Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to comment on the pairing of our products with those of other brands. We recommend consulting with your doctor/dermatologist, gradually incorporating one new product into your regimen at a time, and applying test patches first to see what works best for your skin. Was this answer helpful to you
