PMD Beauty's SilkStream Pro is in a wonderful, versatile facial steamer! It's definitely a lot smaller than some other brands I've seen or used before, making it easier to pull out and use or put away quickly. I was a little disappointed with the cord length, as I couldn't really find an easy area to plug it into where I would also be allowed to rest or sit while using it. My only other complaint is that it sometimes turns on by itself or stays on even after I've turned it off while it's plugged in. This is probably just a malfunction with my own, though, and not something that every one of them does. I used it a few different ways, and I loved it each time! I'm particularly fond of using it before cleansing - I feel as though I get a deeper, more meaningful cleanse by doing this. I tried using it before applying my serums, too. This made it feel like they were better absorbed, for sure. It works wonders to open up those pores, whether you want to use it before cleansing, serums, or even masking. It's both refreshing and relaxing. I also used it with some essential oils! The first one I tried was peppermint, and the whole room was filled with the scent. I was very surprised by the strength of the steam stream to begin with, but this showed me just how strong it really is. I didn't even use much oil, and this is a large living room I'm talking about! I love so many PMD products so of course I was super excited to try the Silk Steam by PMD. The device itself is sleek, smooth, and overall aesthetically pleasing. It does specify to use distilled water with the machine, which is a bit much for me so I used tap water knowing I'll likely have to clean mineral build up in the future. The steam machine comes with only one button, so it's pretty simple to use. I do wish there was a max fill line on the device because I filled it to almost the top and boiling hot water shot out for several minutes before enough evaporated. In addition to that hazard, the machine leaks hot water from the tank and the entire counter top was soaking wet by the time I finished using it, I definitely see room for improvement. Getting past all of that, the steam is consistent and pleasant and lasts for about 15 minutes before it runs out. Maybe ill see more improvement with continual use.
