You should see my scalp!

Bought this after many many months of struggling with my seborrhic dermatitis. I have tried everything even prescriptions and nothing helped. I had large itchy, red, bleeding scales on my scalp down to my neck and on the backs of my ears. It was painful and embarrassing. I saw this while browsing f...

This is fancy Head and Shoulders

You should know before you buy this that the active ingredient is the same as Head and Shoulders. Same ingredient, same potency. So if Head and Shoulders doesn't work for you, don't expect this to either. If H&S does work for you, you would probably be better off buying that at a fraction of the pri...

Battled horrible flaking for Years Before this

Submitted 9 months ago

By Liv

From Washington

Okay, I know that everyone has different responses to anti-dandruff shampoos, but this changed the game for me. For the last 2 years I have been battling horrible, large flakes on my scalp (like bad…). I have no clue what caused it, but it was to the point where I thought I had tried everything, tar-based shampoos, salicyclic acid, you name it. I gave this a shot after it went on sale and I have been a month free of even a SINGLE flake. I am so impressed and will be repurchasing forever.

Awful reaction

I have an oily scalp & dandruff and wanted something other than head and shoulders to treat both. This shampoo made my scalp itchy and created pimples. It probably helped with dandruff but I couldn't stand the itch so I threw it out.

The new creamy formula leaves my hair feeling like I just used Head & Shoulders. I'm not a fan sadly :(

I had dandruff that I was trying to get rid of for a while, this shampoo literally works wonders. I started using it in august and now I literally have no dandruff at all. Not even little flakes it's gone COMPLETELY. I love it and 100000% recommend it.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Doesn't work

I wanted to give this shampoo a fair shot so I used it for about a month. While it does make my hair feel nice and look shiny, I feel like my dry scalp and dandruff are worse than when I started using it. Ill finish the bottle because its pricey but I wont buy again.

Q
I like to use a normal shampoo 3 times a week and a clarifying shampoo once a week. Could I use this product three times a week and also clarifying shampoo once a week? I'm concerned about drying my hair out.
Asked by Em
Official Answer By Matrix - Brand Engage
Hi there! Using our Scalp Sync Anti-Dandruff Shampoo 3 times a week plus a clarifying shampoo once a week is highly likely to over-cleanse and dry out your hair. Because Scalp Sync already contains exfoliating Glycolic Acid, it acts as a deep purifier on its own. How to prevent dryness: Skip the weekly clarifying shampoo: Scalp Sync is already doing that deep-cleaning work for you. Target your scalp only: Massage the dandruff shampoo only into your roots. Let the suds wash over your ends when rinsing to avoid drying them out. Lock in moisture: Always follow with a rich conditioner (like Biolage Hydra Source Conditioning Balm) on your mid-lengths to ends. The Verdict: Stick to Scalp Sync 2 to 3 times a week as your "purifying" step, and skip the extra clarifying wash to keep your hair perfectly balanced and hydrated! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
The description for this product mentions that it contains zinc pyrithione, but i don't see it in the list of ingredients. Does it contain zinc pyrithione or not?
Asked by Shopinbed
Official Answer By Matrix - Brand Engage
Hi there! Yes, absolutely! Biolage Scalp Sync Anti-Dandruff Shampoo does indeed contain Pyrithione Zinc (1.0%) as its active, flake-fighting ingredient. Because this shampoo is classified as an Over-the-Counter (OTC) therapeutic product to treat dandruff, its ingredients are split into two sections on the packaging: Drug Facts (Active Ingredients): You will find Pyrithione Zinc 1% listed separately at the very top of the back of the bottle under the "Active Ingredients" section. Inactive Ingredients: This is the standard, longer list of ingredients on the bottle (which includes ingredients like Water, Glycolic Acid, Menthol, and Fermented Black Tea). The Verdict: Rest assured, the active Pyrithione Zinc is in there! It’s just highlighted in its own special "Drug Facts" box on the back label rather than mixed into the general ingredient list. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Are there any precautions? I read it causes photosensitivity. I would not want to use this shampoo if it causes that
Asked by Mimi
Official Answer By Biolage - Brand Engage
Hi there! Thank you for reaching out about Scalp Sync Anti-Drandruff Shampoo. Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are found in a number of hair and skin cosmetic products, as they are known to help cleanse without stripping moisture. The US FDA advises that all cosmetic products containing AHAs that are topically applied to the skin have the potential to increase the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight and recommends very specific usage instructions on these types of products. Scalp Sync products are hair products that contain the AHA known as glycolic acid and are not intended for topical application to the skin. However, unintentional exposure of the skin may occur during regular use and that’s why the FDA’s recommended statements are included on the packaging for your understanding and awareness. Was this answer helpful to you
