Q&A

Q
How to use this product ?
Asked by Beauty
Official Answer By Smashbox US
We’re glad you asked! Smooth a pea-sized amount over clean skin with your fingertips, working out from the center of the face. Wait 15 seconds before makeup for that flawless, soft-focus effect. Wear alone or under makeup for an IRL filter glow every day!Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Does this primer cause flashback on camera flash? Has anyone use for your wedding day and what foundation did you use with this primer?
Asked by VanityCindy
Official Answer By Smashbox US
Our Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer is actually designed to play well with cameras - no flashback here. It goes on clear and keeps your foundation true to tone, even with flash. Lots of brides and artists use it for wedding days because it smooths, grips, and stays camera-ready. Just pair it with your go-to foundation, and you’re set for photos. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
I don't wear heavy makeup but do use a color corrector in parts of my face, then some concealer. Do I need to put primer on all of my face, or can I use it for smaller sections?
Asked by Di
Official Answer By Smashbox US
The Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer acts as your real-life filter. Use it daily for a blurred, soft-focus effect on your skin—wear it alone or underneath makeup. You don’t need to apply it everywhere; spot prime only where you want smoothing and blurring. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can you use this with powder foundation?
Asked by Roo
Official Answer By Smashbox US
Yes, you can use Smashbox’s Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer with powder foundation. This primer creates a smooth, blurred base that helps powder apply evenly and last longer. Just let the primer set for a minute before applying the powder. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Should this be used before or after a gripping primer?
Asked by KelliAnners
Official Answer By Smashbox US
For the best results, apply your gripping primer first to lock in your base, then follow with The Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer on areas where you want extra smoothing. Was this answer helpful to you

A Love Story from an Acne Prone Gym Goer

PHOTO: The attached photo is after approximately 12 hours of wear on a naturally oily face, and an extremely sweaty workout. I have fallen in love with this product as well as the eye primer. I went to Ulta in search for a new foundation because I thought that my Tarte, powder foundation couldn't h...

Not for Oily Skin

This is the worst primer I have ever used. I have an oily tzone, makeup slides off my nose very easily. I use Estee Lauder's Doublewear makeup and needed something to prime with. Previously, I had been using Benefit's Porefessional, which is decent for dabbing on problem pore areas. I bought sa...

didn't do what I expected

By Terry

From Palm Desert

I bought this on the recommendation of the salesperson. Went in looking for a foundation that wouldn't settle into my wrinkles and pores. Was sold this, a moisturizer and a tinted moisturizer. Not happy with any of the products. The primer doesn't do anything to fill in the wrinkles/pores. I understand that maybe the wrinkles were too deep but then why did they suggest this? The only good thing is that the lady did sell me a smaller size than the one she originally suggested.

Glad I bought the travel size to try it out before I committed to the full size. I have spent less on Ulta's brand of primer. The quality (and price) are much better. It's just not worth the cost.

Great for mature skin

Sometimes you don't realize the benefits of a product until you run out of it. I ran out and wasn't able to get to the store for a few days. For those days my skin felt dry and when applying foundation the look was not overall natural.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
