Most Helpful Positive Review Best thing you can do for your hair (vivid colors too!) Hair type: fine, used to be quick to be oily, and I have belliage bleached out highlights that I put vivid color on every couple weeks. I wash in cold water but go to the gym frequently so wash at least every other day. Also I'm a generally bad at being a girl engineer that does minimum hair care and makeup. Styling: usually air dry curls, sometimes blowdry + straighten in winter Background: by mid 2020 I wrecked my hair with knock-off shampoo + above lifestyle. My hair was snapping and had split ends 2 inches long. I've been using Olaplex shampoo and conditioner only for just over 8 months and I can't overstate the difference. The only thing I've changed is using these products. My hair is longer than shoulder length for the first time in 10 years, and when I went for a hair cut (5 month gap between cuts) there were no split ends and my stylist was super impressed with the progress I've made. Daily routine I use as directed - shampoo, rinse, condition, leave for 3 minutes, rinse. The shampoo goes A LONG way, rinsing takes very little time.. My hair drinks the conditioner, rinsing takes very little time, no residue. I follow up with leave in styling conditioner and my hair still looks like and feels great. This stuff has been so very worth the cost, lasts a few months per bottle.
Most Helpful Critical Review Don't waste your money on this I have been using no. 6 and 7 for the past four months and I love them. I decided to give the shampoo and conditioner a try and I cannot even explain how disappointed I was with the product. I wash my hair twice a week and it usually only starts to get oily on the third day without washing. For context I have very healthy, curly, virgin hair. I rarely use heat on it and almost always wear my natural curl. This shampoo made my hair stringy and greasy looking. The morning after washing it looked like I had gone over a week without washing. I went online and looked at multiple reddit threads of people having this same problem and tried every possible suggestion but nothing helped. And don't even get me started on returning it. I reached out to Olaplex and explained my situation and they told me they would refund me but I would have to send the product back and pay for shipping out of my own pocket. So there goes $12 on shipping to send back something that didn't work for me. For the ungodly high prices they charge on their products they should have covered the cost of return shipment. Overall very disappointed with this experience, I will continue to buy no. 6 and 7 but I most likely won't be trying anymore of their products.

been using this for 6 months now (along with other products from the same brand) and i've notices it's actually making my hair look more dry/dull. also I've always been able to go days without washing my hair but with this product I have to do it every other day because it causes a lot of dandruff. makes my head feel itchy and also doesn't help with maintaining color on dyed hair.
Feels Like I went to the Salon 5

I know that this product is more for long term hair health. I only used it for one wash with the conditioner, but my hair felt so soft and healthy after! I only had to use a small amount too and I have a lot of hair. I can't wait to see the long-term benefits!

Okay, so this shampoo and conditioner is by far the worse product I ever used. Without a doubt this has some bad ingredients that are not fully listed and labeled as fragrance. Additional it ruined my hair, I use a dyson air wrap and after the second time using the olaplex it smelled like my hair was burning and it literally my hair is fried. I have the 4,5,6,7. I have never had unhealthy hair. My hair now feels plastic when it only ever felt soft before.
I am wondering if these products have recently been reformulated.
A little goes a long way 1

Honestly I'm extremely disappointed in this line. Makes my hair feel very very dry. And for the price I expected way more. Cannot understand the hype. Won't be purchasing ever ever again. So over priced for a below average product
Lives up to the hype! 5

i know that it seems like a lot to spend on shampoo, but literally a dot lathers enough for all my hair… my hair is thick and almost down to my waist. so it's worth it for the benefits.
WORTH THE MONEY! 5

I am a natural blonde who decided to dye their hair black and I'm back blonde again after lots of bleaching. The last time that I got my hair done I had just enough chlorine in my hair to make a bunch of hair snapped off. My hair was dry frizzy crispy and dead And I really thought I was going to have to chop it. I bought this roughly 2 months ago and wash my hair twice a week and I've noticed a significant difference. My hair softer less frizzy it's manageable doesn't tangle easy and overall feels and looks healthier. With previous shampoos I would use handfuls of shampoo to get it to lather enough to wash my hair. With this and I wish I was exaggerating a quarter sized amount is more than enough to wash my hair. So even though this is a little pricey it's well worth it Since you aren't having to use so much of it. I think I have roughly used less than a quarter cup of shampoo in my bottle is only missing about 3 inches of shampoo. I will never use "cheap" shampoo again this is a hair saver and a life changer.
Not for me! Fragrance! 2
CC from Texas
Okay, so the olaplex list that they do not use a lot of harmful ingredients, but they list a lot of ingredients and one is fragrance. I used No 4, 5, 6 and 7. My hair was very nice after but the back of my neck sweats during the night when I use these products. I am not able to continue the products because I do not want the ingredients that are unknown in the fragrance to disrupt my hormones.
Just say no! 1

I know it's tempting to try it with all the great reviews but don't. It's nothing special. It's made my full wavy head of hair limp and lifeless. I only used it for a month/twice week. Trying toget my hair back I did clarify shampoo seems nothing is working. I guess just give it time. Don't waste your money! Or try just one of their products using the whole line is probably over kill.
TERRIBLE 1

If I could give zero stars, I would. I don't understand how this company is as successful as it is. Contains Alcohol and other harmful chemicals that dry your hair out. My hair was somewhat dry, but after using this for 3 months just waiting for these miraculous results people talk about, my hair ended up even more dry than before. My hair from root to tip feels like straw. These products are a joke. I'm not buying into it. Please do your research before trying. It could cost you the integrity of your hair.
I recommend this product and would buy this product again. 5

So far, I think I've found the right shampoo for my fine frizzy hair! I can really see and feel the difference. I'm also using #5 conditioner and #6.

I decided to buy a complete regimen of Olaplex since I heard such great things about the brand. The first time, I did the No. 3 treatment on damp hair, allowed it to sit for 10 minutes, rinsed and followed up with this shampoo and the conditioner, blow-drying with the bonding oil at the end. I loved how my hair felt right afterwards! Within 2-3 hours, however, my hair was extremely oily and felt weighed down. I was about to return the product.
Confused, I went on the internet and started to read some more reviews. It was very obvious: I used *wAAAAy* too much shampoo. Also, I did not emulsify it in my hands prior to applying it to my scalp.
I'm not gonna lie, the oiliness and itching were so bad that I had to shower again that evening. But using LITERALLY a dime of shampoo made such a difference.
Usually I am an oily girl, but this routine has allowed me to go 3 days, comfortably, without washing, with minimal dry shampoo.
Felt Heavy 3
Giselle from TX
Just finished the Shampoo and conditioner and I feel like this product makes my hair feel heavy . I already have thick coarse hair and with the bleach in my hair my hair takes forever to dry out, making it look greasy when I style it out. Maybe for another different type of hair this would be perfect.
Amazing! 5

My first to use to Olaplex line. I started with the No. 0, then No. 3, rinsed & used the No.4 Shampoo & No.5 Conditioner. Then applied the No. 6 with a drop of No.7 and used my Revlon Brush dryer. My hair has not felt and looked this good in years!
wonderful product 5

This shampoo has made my hair so soft and manageable.
Worth the price 5
Mindy from Austin, TX
I have very thick hair, wavy, not curly, but wiry. It typically takes a lot of shampoo to get enough lather to get through all my hair. This shampoo takes about the size of a dime! It's amazing! The scent is very mild. My hair feels clean and healthy. It's pricey but I use so little, it's worth it. Love it!
I would buh this product again 4

I was skeptical about buying this at first because of the price but i decided to splurge and buy this and the conditioner and wow its amazing! My hair was instantly softer and shiner after 3 uses! I've been using it for about a month now and my hairs never felt better! I will say if your looking to only buy 1 olaplex product I'd go with #3 as I've seen the most results with it!
Great product 5

I've been using this and Olaplex #5 conditioner for just over a month. I have very fine hair and every strand counts. I've been coloring my hair for ages. It hasn't been very unhealthy or in bad shape but it needed some help! Now, my hair is in such good condition. It's stronger and silkier and smoother. I love that just a little goes a long way.
Drying 2
Shelby from ky
I really don't understand why this shampoo is so popular. I used it on my bleached hair for months and saw no improvement. My hair actually felt more dry and brittle than before. I love the no. 3 treatment, but I didn't like the shampoo and conditioner. Not worth the money to me.
I would like to buy it again and again 5
