Q
Why does this say it is formulated without parabens, when on the ingredient list it lists Methylparaben, Propylparaben?
Asked by KR3323
Official Answer By CeraVe - BE
Hello there! As a global leader, the L'Oréal group of companies, which includes CeraVe, is dedicated to rigorous standards of manufacturing excellence that result in the highest product quality. The products we sell meet the most stringent standards for safety. Consumer safety is paramount and we allow no compromise on this issue. All the ingredients we use in a product are listed on the package or the label of the product itself. For products too small to accommodate the list, a separate ingredient list is available on the display unit in the store for your convenience. Since some ingredients are known by more than one name, we use the standard industry FDA-recognized names. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
I have really dry skin and it can't seem to get enough moisture. I tried your lightweight moisturizing lotion and it helped a little but I found my skin was still quite dry after use. Is this better for my dry skin? I also find that some other brand products say it shouldn't be used for young/teenage skin, is this for all ages?

Official Answer By CeraVe - BE
Hi there! Thanks for your interest in CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. It's non-comedogenic with a rich texture for smooth, hydrated skin. It's generally suitable for all ages, and any child-specific versions will be clearly marked. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is this gluten free?
Asked by Lolo
Official Answer By CeraVe - BE
Hi there. Most ingredients derived from grain sources are highly refined and retain no traces of gluten proteins. For less refined ingredients from natural sources, CeraVe has established strict limits on the level of potentially allergenic proteins. Since individuals exhibit a wide range of sensitivities to these proteins, if you have any questions or concerns you should discuss with your medical care provider. All the ingredients we use in a product are listed on the package or the label of the product itself. For products too small to accommodate the list, a separate ingredient list is available on the display unit in the store for your convenience. Since some ingredients are known by more than one name, we use the standard industry FDA-recognized names. A review of the ingredients that are listed on all of our products or packages will alert you to the presence of this type of ingredient. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Why not put a seal on the jar? I have been using it for years but is always fearful that it could be tampered with. Is there any harm in using it on my face after the expiration date?
Asked by LB
Official Answer By CeraVe - BE
Hello there! Thanks for reaching out about CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. In an effort to be more sustainable we have eliminated the seals on some of our products, including the CeraVe Mositurizing Cream. We understand your concerns and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us to improve our products. The Moisturizing Cream can be used up to 12-month once opened. It should be stored at normal room temperature, during which it will retain its integrity and perform as expected. Was this answer helpful to you

A Mistake Turned Holy Grail

I purchased this originally thinking it was a facial moisturizer. When I realized that wasn't the case, I was worried to put it on my face because I have oily, acne prone skin and didn't want to exacerbate the condition. However, I applied it anyway and was pleasantly surprised how much my skin impr...

New Formula is watered down

I used to really be a fan of this brand, but ever since L'Oreal bought their company, they water down their hero product. I have old jars that list all the good ingredient like their ceramides, cholesterol, and hyaluronic acid above petrolatum. Now, they're listed below potassium phosphate, which is...

Great product

CeraVe body and face cream is one of those awesome all in ones because it keeps my skin soft but can pat on my face for an extra not of moisture. It does not block pores and is great for sensitive skin.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

This CeraVe moisturizer is a winter must have for your body. Most days I wear it alone and other days I use it as my base layer as soon as I get out of the shower then may put a fragranced lotion or shea butter over it

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Too drying for me

Submitted 1 month ago

From Ohio

As someone with dry and sensitive skin I really wanted to like this. CeraVe is always recommended to me when I tell people about my skincare concerns, but this moisturizer just did not work out for me. I originally purchased this last winter and while using it I noticed my skin was really flaky. I chalked it up to the dry air and the fact that my skin was in a bad place at the time. I started using other products over the course of the year, and recently I decided to try this one out again since my skin has improved significantly since I first used it. Turns out it is definitely the formulation that is making my skin flakier (and sometimes a little itchy?). The texture is beautiful but the thickness makes it hard to fully absorb into my skin sometimes. I recommend a patch test if your skin is dry and obnoxiously reactive like mine is! Also, there is a rosy-like scent, probably due to the phenoxyethanol, at least in the tub that I purchased. Just something to note if you're sensitive to fragrance.
