I have really dry skin and it can't seem to get enough moisture. I tried your lightweight moisturizing lotion and it helped a little but I found my skin was still quite dry after use. Is this better for my dry skin? I also find that some other brand products say it shouldn't be used for young/teenage skin, is this for all ages?
- Asked by Abby
- Official Answer By CeraVe - BEHi there! Thanks for your interest in CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. It's non-comedogenic with a rich texture for smooth, hydrated skin. It's generally suitable for all ages, and any child-specific versions will be clearly marked. Was this answer helpful to you

Is this gluten free?
- Asked by Lolo
- Official Answer By CeraVe - BEHi there. Most ingredients derived from grain sources are highly refined and retain no traces of gluten proteins. For less refined ingredients from natural sources, CeraVe has established strict limits on the level of potentially allergenic proteins. Since individuals exhibit a wide range of sensitivities to these proteins, if you have any questions or concerns you should discuss with your medical care provider. All the ingredients we use in a product are listed on the package or the label of the product itself. For products too small to accommodate the list, a separate ingredient list is available on the display unit in the store for your convenience. Since some ingredients are known by more than one name, we use the standard industry FDA-recognized names. A review of the ingredients that are listed on all of our products or packages will alert you to the presence of this type of ingredient. Was this answer helpful to you

- Q
Is the petrolatum used in this product fully refined?
- Asked by Amy
- Official Answer By CeraVe - BEHi there. Thank you for reaching out about CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. Petrolatum is a derivative of petroleum; it is a purified mixture of mineral oils and waxes. During petroleum refinement, a byproduct of the distillation step is petrolatum residuum. This residuum is further refined and purified to produce petrolatum. Petrolatum is an occlusive agent (forms a barrier on the skin’s surface) and an emollient. These benefits mean that petrolatum helps keep dry skin hydrated by reducing TEWL (transepidermal water loss) and soft/supple by filling in spaces between dry cells in the skin’s outermost layers. The FDA recognizes petrolatum (at levels >30%) as a skin protectant that temporarily protects and helps relieve chafed, chapped or cracked skin. Was this answer helpful to you

A Mistake Turned Holy Grail
I purchased this originally thinking it was a facial moisturizer. When I realized that wasn't the case, I was worried to put it on my face because I have oily, acne prone skin and didn't want to exacerbate the condition. However, I applied it anyway and was pleasantly surprised how much my skin impr...

New Formula is watered down
I used to really be a fan of this brand, but ever since L'Oreal bought their company, they water down their hero product. I have old jars that list all the good ingredient like their ceramides, cholesterol, and hyaluronic acid above petrolatum. Now, they're listed below potassium phosphate, which is...

the very best!
I only buy this because it's like pudding and truly keeps my skin soft.
A good cream
[I recieved this product for my honest review] [I received this product in exchange for my honest review] The moisture level of this lotion is medium. The absorption is his high. What I appreciate is the application happens smoothly and quick. All it takes is one or two rubs and the cream emulsifies. If there is no scent, which is fine. But it definitely a moisturizing cream.
Great!
Its so thick and hydrating but doesnt look or feel greasy. I love it so far! I have very acne prone skin and i havent noticed and breakouts. Does great on face and body
Smelly
I just wanted to leave a reciew and let the people who are sensitive to smells know that while this is fragrance free it is VERY smelly! It bothers me a lot until it soaks in, I would be much happier if there was no scent at all. But as a moisturizer it works well so i keep buying it but only for my dry hands never anywhere close to my face because the smell is so strong
Only moisturizer I have found for my sensitive skin
Finding moisturizers is hellish for me. They either leave me oily and breaking out or I have to sit on the bathroom floor for ten minutes waiting for my face to stop burning. This is the only moisturizer I have ever found that doesn't produce these results. It is also very cheap - lots of bang for your buck. It washes off and absorbs into the skin well. You don't need to use much to cover the whole face - about half a teaspoon if I were to estimate. I like to put a little extra on at night to let it soak in - I have found this method hydrates my skin well and prevents my acne treatments from irritating my skin.
