Hydrating, but not exactly a cure for acne

I have a hate love relationship with this oil. While it is supposedly marketed as an anti-acne type of oil to heal or prevent breakouts, I don't think you should be smothering this on your face if you suffer from severe acne, cystic acne, or congested skin. If you have dry skin or mature skin, I thi...nk this would be great for added hydration. My mother I have a little sample to who has aging skin, loved this product more than I did to be honest. I have under the skin type of blemishes, ones that usually are not able to pop. While my acne is not severe, I usually have 6 or less blemishes on my face at a time. This oil will not get rid of your acne or prevent it, but it will hydrate your skin and give ton a glow, but it can also clog your pores I have used almost the entire 1oz bottle, it's been 6 months. So the 1oz will last you quite a while (I use mine every other night, I never use it during the day because I live in a humid climate in Hawaii) This oil is very nice, is smells great, the ingredients are quite quality for what you pay, and it does give me a sort of glow the next morning. However, while it does give my "non-breakout" parts of my face a nice glow and hydration, it makes my already acne-prone skin a little clogged. I don't use a ton, a very small amount. The pump doesn't let you use a small amount so I usually apply the extra onto my hands or neck or under my eyes. I tried this oil alone without any other moisturizers or acne medication for 3 months and it did not work and congested my skim even more. I got tired and decided to try it the next three months, but this time with a layer of salicylic acid and that seemed to help more. I've decided to just move onto retinol because this will not cure cystic, under the skin blemishes, congestion, anything like that. Maybe someone with mild acne or open comedones it perhaps would, but it is not compatible with my skin type. I am oily combination. I will continue to use the entire bottle because when my face does get a little tight or dry from acne meds this does appear to hydrate it well. Sadly I won't repurchase or recommend to any acne sufferers, but I also don't feel a huge loss considering the bottle is not too expensive in terms of trying it out and it can be used on your neck or hands or under your eyes if you don't like it! Or give to it someone with aging/dry skin!
