Section clean, wet hair. Apply generously. Use a wide tooth comb to distribute evenly from root to ends. Leave in for 5 minutes. For extra-conditioning, cover hair with plastic cap. Apply moderate heat for up to 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. When using a hair steamer do not cover hair. Moist heat will add to masque's hydration.

the first time I used the product, I found it to be very thick and hard to rinse out even after sitting under the steamer with the masque in my hair. However, the second time I placed the masque in a container with hot water. It was easy to apply while it was warm and after sitting under the steam...

Add water for extra slip!
I have high porosity, relaxed hair and the mask is definitly thick upon application. In order to get slip, I have to take some water and mix it in with the conditioner thats on my hair, this loosens the product and thats when the magic happens.

I used to have really curly hair when I was younger and wanted it back recently and having this really helps, it smells pretty good and it has helped define my hair again. It doesn't weigh down my hair or anything. Just make sure to massage into your hair well to not have residue.
High end quality with drugstore price
I absolutely love this deep conditioner from shea moisture! Although Im not a fan of their other lines (Amla bond repair) this is one of my holy grails. As a curly 2a-3b girl, I can just use this deep conditioner by itself, no leave in or gel or anything, and my hair will be thick, defined and shiny with no product in it. I swear no other product moisturizes my hair as much as this!
