To apply softener or essence:
- Pour softener or essence onto the cotton pad after cleansing.
- Wrap the cotton around the inner middle finger, between the index and ring fingers.
- Starting from the center of the face, use outward strokes to smooth softener:
a) across the forehead
b) from nose to cheeks
c) around your lips
d) upward from your chest to neck
e) under your chin
To remove eye makeup:
- Pour makeup remover onto 3 cotton pads
- one for each eye and a third for your eyelashes.
- Rest a cotton pad over each lid and hold it in place for a few seconds. Then gently wipe downward and off skin.
- Place the remaining cotton pad onto the lashes of each eye. Hold it in place for a few seconds to break down the mascara, then wipe from the base to the tip of your eyelashes, starting from outer to inner corner and back again. Repeat on your other eye.
- Follow with cleanser.

What happened?
I've been using this cotton for long time, but the last one I bought is horrible, it falls apart in my hand I end up with "hairs" in my eyes etc. Quality went down the tube. I'm better off buying the cheap brand from the pharmacy. Very disappointed, a waste of money .

They've changed! 🙁
I've been using these for a long time. Recently I picked up two more packages, and to my disappointment they've changed! They're thinner than they used to be, and I don't think they stand up as well, either. Such a disappointment, I won't be buying these again in the future. I expect better from Shiseido than this!

Why would you change such an iconic product? They are no longer thick, soft, or trusted. These pads are thin, rough, and they irritate my skin. Please let this be the one time you listen to the consumer and go back to the original cotton pads.

I've been a loyal Shiseido customer for over 15 years, and this facial cotton used to be exceptional - very soft and well priced. Unfortunately, the quality has declined dramatically while the cost has increased by a lot. The cotton's texture now feels coarse and scratches / irritates my sensitive skin, which completely defeats the purpose of a premium product. It's extremely disappointing to see such a decline in a trusted brand known for high quality. I won't be repurchasing or recommending this products, unless the original standard is restored.
