The harsh winter elements of being stuck inside with the heat on high can create havoc for our skin, and oftentimes, using a facial wash with foaming capabilities is something I avoid for my dry skin type but BYOMA Creamy Jelly Cleanser not only cleanses dirt and pore-clogging factors but does so wh...ile leaving behind a balanced, hydrated bounce to the dermis.As a skincare professional with over 25 years of experience, I approach skin cleansing by searching for products that clean, detoxify, and keep the biome in balance. This cleanser is a clear gel that is fragrance-free, smooth, and slippery smooth to the touch. I apply the product to my dampened face using circular motions and enjoy the calming and cleansing effect of a soft, velvety lather that doesn't over-foam or strip my skin. Rinsing leaves no soapy residue behind and my skin feels plumped and clean, with a hydration bounce. Tri-ceramide complex, licorice root, and green tea are the trinity ingredients marketed to boost the skin's biome and leave healthy, clean, skin behind.The packaging is colorful and creative 'touting' the evolution of a sustainable approach and ease of use. The ample, 5-ounce of cleanser with a low inviting price point of 12.00 is housed in a sturdy, modern bottle free from additional boxed packaging. I have used cleansers with subpar pumps that make me dispense way too much product for the cleansing ritual, creating more waste than needed. A couple of gentle presses on the flat-top, smooth-action pump dispenses a petite amount of product, which is exactly enough to get the job done. The ingredient list is precarious? Preservatives such as phenoxyethanol can cause skin irritation but this ingredient is at the bottom of the list, so the percentage is likely quite low. Other ingredients such as sodium lauryl sulfate, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, sodium chloride, sodium benzoate, and others make me scratch my head. The packaging is bright and artful, extremely sturdy, and well-made. The ink used to heat press within the plastic of this modern-shaped bottle seems unfortunate. Why not offer packaging with removable labels so this sturdy well designed vessel can be repurposed in one's home and can be filled with other things? Not to mention that 'colored' plastic, although visually appealing, most likely won't be recycled as it is difficult with established recycling protocols.
