Most Helpful Positive Review I use this every day
I'm glad I bought this before I read some of the negative reviews. Everyone has such different skin and I may have stayed away from this product once I read those, I'm glad I didn't! For reference: I am 44, acne prone, with dark skin and have eczema -- I'm allergic to a lot of products. I am also using a product for my acne called Tazorac so sunscreen is a necessity. I found this product to rub in well, it feels good, does not irritate, and I didn't feel like I had that white film you often get with sunscreens. I wear under make up and my make up goes on smoothly after. I do wait about 10 min post shower to put the lotion on, and wait until after I do my hair to apply my make up which I think helps with having it absorb and layering under make up. (If I put on the lotion while my skin is damp, it doesn't absorb well, and if I apply my make up immediately after, I do feel like it's a bit too much). I really like using this as it doesn't irritate with my eczema, moisturizes, does not cause break outs, contains the sunscreen I need and looks good under make up.
Most Helpful Critical Review Combination/Acne Prone Skin -okay not great
I'll start by saying I really wanted to like this product. As someone with acne prone/combo skin, I'm hesitant to stray from my typical regimen. I use a benzoyl peroxide face wash as well as topical prescriptions (clindamyacin and retinol cream...both drying)to manage my acne per a dermatologist. In the past the best lotion experience I've had is with aveeno positively radiant. It's been getting pricey so figured I'd try something else in the same price range with the hopes of getting more for what I spend. I thought if anything a lotion labeled as being for normal to dry skin would be too heavy for me normally but may be a good option before and during winter as I do get dry then. I've been using the Cerave AM at morning and Cerave PM lotion at night hoping to beat the winter dryness before winter. After a few days of use, I'm debating going back to aveeno. It absorbs quickly, isn't greasy and overall I like the feel of the lotions. However I feel like my skin isn't as moisturized as it's been with other products. Maybe the people with naturally dry skin have a different experience b/c their skin is naturally dry and any added moisture helps. But for someone who typically suffers from dry skin only in the winter, I'm noticing rough patches (after swapping to this line) and it's just nearing the end of summer. I don't usuallywrite reviews, but noticed there didnt seem to be many for people with my skin issues. Just writing for all my acne/combination skin friends out there. Any other recommendations are appreciated. I debated trying just the traditional? Cerave..seemed like more of a heavy duty all over moisturizing cream. Might still give that a go in the winter.

I got this product thinking it was perfect for sensitive skin and I was wrong. I broke out in hives alll over my face the day after I used it. This gave me a severe allergic reaction. Stay away if your skin is sensitive !!!!
Channersmom from California
I have medium dark skin and this product has a really bad white cast that's hard to rub in. It's really thick and it made me break out all over my face.
PLEASE READ !! Tip on how to stop the peeling !!

Hi , so I have seen many many comments about the how this sunscreen starts to "ball up" or "pills" and I had the same problem for months BUT HEAR ME OUT , I changed my skin care and PATIENCE IS KEY !!! So here I will give you my skin care routine in how I prevent that from happening !!
First cleanse !! Second use moisturizer !! Let the moisturizer set until it feels light I usually wait around 5-10 mins !! Third I use a facial oil specifically The Ordinary "100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil" , from there on an extra thing is that I start massaging my face and use Gua Sha facial techniques this helps to set the oil !! Do this for around 10 minutes and let it set for an extra 5 minutes until it's feels light and thin on the skin ! Now that the face is fully moisturized and hydrated put around a dime-size amount on your finger of this Facial Moisturizing Lotion, and start doting it around your face ! ( You can build more as you go ) and just spread around your face how you normally would !!! This really helped me to stopped the peeling and "ball up" situation !!
** PATIENCE IS KEY **
I hope this helps !! < 3
Note : I have combination acne-prone skin !!

Cerave sunscreens are usually not my favorite, but this one isn't too bad. I don't use this as my sole moisturizer, rather I put it on top of another moisturizer once it's fully dry. This has a sort of whipped texture that's pretty easy to blend out. It's not oily and thick like a lot of sunscreens I've tried and it sits pretty comfortably on the skin. It does have a slight white cast on my skin, but it's honestly better than most mineral sunscreens I've tried. I would repurchase this.
Favorite daily moisturizer with SPD
AnjyRajy from Chicago, IL
I love this hydrating daily moisturizer with SPF and creamers so much that I have convinced other friends to get them too. Holy grail
Dermatologist recommended and I still hate it!!
Terahdactyl from Kansas
I struggle with mild acne and oily skin and my dermatologist recommended this since it has hyaluronic acid and SPF! I don't normally wear a lot of makeup but I have to be SUPER careful if I put anything on top of this moisturizer. It doesn't mix with anything and pills easily. My friends have pointed out tiny clumps of product on my chin numerous times:( I expected something way better for the price.
Worst moisturizer I've ever tried
Syd from Normal, IL
Rash and drypatches, white caste and balls up my skin which then falls off. Is sticky or hard on my skin after it "absorbs"
Not a great experience
Kate from Olympia, WA
Two days in and now I have red bumps and hives all over my face. Did not like the pilling either, every time I'd touch my face white residue would come off in flakes, my previous sunscreen and moisturizer would never do this.
High quality ingredients, moisturizing,
Vanny from Denver
I think the product smells great unlike other people, but I like the sunscreen smell. Moisturizing, quality ingredients, I like that niacinamide is high on the list because it's good for pores and firmness. I am 40 with acne prone skin. Too soon to see if it causes breakouts but the ingredient list looks safe to me and I am very particular about that. I also had no problems with it balling up like other people said
white cast/irritates eyes
jackie96 from texas
this lotion did not work for me because it dries fast when applying and blending after it dries it peels if you combine with another product and if you wear it all day it started irritating my eyes even though i didn't put any close to them
R.Peele from NC
I love cerave products but this one is horrible. It smells like sunscreen, hard to blend it, leaves a white cast, makes my skin look oily and it peels
Chinadoll from NJ
Allergic reaction hives and red bumps all over my face
Bri from New Jersey
White cast and it starts to ball up and peel when applying. Would not recommend to anyone ever.
Waste of money
Haleigh from Phoenix
I was hoping that this would be a quick fix from having to apply moisturizer then SPF. Nope, makes skin super oily…
Works fine for me.
katsish from USA
Easy to remember to pump and go. It takes a minute or so to blend it down totally but I am pale so there's no cast when it does. Sounds like it may not work for darker skin tones, based on the other reviews I've read on here.
Rio from Emerald Coast
I usually use La Roche Posay's spf moisturizer, but I really like this one, too! It's not as heavy, but it still is super hydrating. It leaves my skin dewy and beautiful!
DONT BUY IT WASTW OF YOUR MONEY
mary from florida
I bought this thinking it was a good product because it's from cerave and it's nothing of that sort.It starts PEELING when i put it on!!!It also leaves a horrible unbendable white cast!!!I thought it would be a very good buy because it's a moisturizer and an spf so one less step in my skin care but NO worst mistake ever!!You are better off buying a moisturizer and an spf separately.
Marly from Redlands
Doesn't leave white cast. It's perfect! It leaves my skin feeling good and smooth! I love this thing! I tried the roshay but it's too greasy! I have dry skin and I was so oily!! This is a good SPF! Highly recommend
Oumou from Valley stream NY
I love most of Cerave products but this was a hard past. If you are a deeper complexion this ain't for you. It literally a arm workout to rub it into the skin. A hard pass save your money and buy the other moisturizer facial lotion with sunscreen.
Hard to blend in
HK from USA
Not worth the $$. It takes a lot of work to blend in and pills very easily, especially on my nose. There's better out there for cheaper. This ain't it.
Made skin break out:/
Dei from Georgia
It made my skin break out, left white residue, wouldn't rub in and was kinda purple on my skin, I have oily skin so I thought it was a plus that it had no oil but it maybe my skin really ashy and tbh it didn't rlly work.
Works as expected
Nadya from KY
I decided to give it a try regardless of the bad reviews. I have combo skin more to the dry side, and I'm taking acne medication that makes it even drier. I've been using it for about 3 weeks and works good! it hasn't broke me out. I'm medium skin tone and it doesn't leave a white cast even tho has zinc in it, the texture is more like a sunscreen than a lotion but that works fine with me! leaves a matte finish which I'm okay with and I've used it under make up and works great. it's an affordable lotion you can always try, and if you're unsatisfied you can always return it!
great moisturizer and spf all in one
Gloria from CA
Despite all the negative comments about it pealing and not blending in to the skin correctly it is not the experience i have with this product. I think a lot has to do with how i prep my skin before applying this product, i use just a toner and don't experience any peeling. I love it!! & it goes great under makeup.
Doesn't smell great
Arielle Joy from Oregon
Has a strong wheat smell. Doesn't absorb well. Feels a little dry, may be better for oily skin rather than my combo skin.
