Ehhn..not impressed.

After eagerly trying out the Matrix A curl can Dream Cream , I am left with mixed feelings about its performance. While it certainly had a pleasant fragrance, I can't help but feel underwhelmed by its overall effectiveness. Let's start with the positive aspect—the scent. The hair cream boasted a de...

I have 3b to 3c curls. I was not a huge fan of the STRONG parfum smell. The cream did moisturize and defined my curls at first, but overtime it seemed like my hair no longer liked the product. For me it worked best on my wet curls. When used on my dry curls it felt like I had residue left on my hair.

I have inflammation in my scalp that causes my hair follicles to be inflamed for reasons I can't pin point. It has been a 20 year battle for me. Everything in the "A Curl Can Dream" line miraculously works for me (except I can't use the shampoo because I am actually allergic to sodium lauryl sulfate, and I have no tried the lightweight oil because products advertised as hair oils make me nervous for my scalp). This works super well if I use use the conditioner/mask, follow up with the moisturizing cream, then follow up with the light hold gel like the directions on the back of the product say to do. My curls look so defined, smooth, and healthy. My hairgrowth has greatly increased now that the inflammation is down. The only thing I will say is that the moisturizing cream does seem to take a little shine away from the hair. If I used the moisturizing hair oil like the instructions say to do, that probably wouldn't be a problem (but like I said, I just am nervous to take the leap and use a hair oil when so many have been terrible for my scalp in the past. Maybe one day. Today is not that, though.). It also seems to hold even better for some reason if I use the scrunch and go defining spray before distributing the gel in my hair.
