Most Helpful Positive Review Love love love- natural alternative to Cetaphil/CeraVe I loooove this cleanser and have repurchased it 7+ times over the last year!! I truly believe you don't need a fancy cleanser (there are so many overpriced cleansers out there in the world) but this one is such a better alternative to commonly used cheap cleansers like cerave and cetaphil! I usually apply it to my skin dry, then splash my face once to wet it, then rub hands in circular motions to lather the cleanser in, then rinse off. If I'm wearing make up, I lather it with water in my hands first before applying (that's what cocokind founder suggests for makeup removal!). If my skin is feeling extra oily or dirty, I'll double cleanse with an oil cleanser first then this one
Most Helpful Critical Review It's okay, it's not ideal for everyday use. I really wanted to like this. The smell is pretty good and resembles a nice herbal tea in my opinion, but I suppose it could be too strong for some people.
So here's the problem: when I use it in the sink, it's sticky and hard to wash off. I usually think that I've gotten everything but when I go to pat my face dry I realize that it's still slightly sticky. You probably need a washcloth or something to fully wipe it off, but I'm reluctant to do that every day because of my sensitive skin.
Then when I use it in the shower, it just turns to milk right away and I can't tell if it's even doing anything. I've tried applying it before getting in the shower but it doesn't work with my routine.
However, because it's so thick and it's fairly gentle, I think I will keep it and see whether it works as a makeup remover. I would not recommend using it multiple times as an every day cleanser. My skin looked good at first but I suspect that it's starting to cause some mild acne. I have dry/combo skin but it's acne prone, so that might be why. I would not recommend this product to someone with really oily skin.

I use this is a first cleanse to get my makeup and spf off. It does an awesome job at getting both off.
Love!! 5

I love this stuff! I use it first before my face wash and it does a really good job of getting all the sunscreen and oil off my face. It does a pretty good job getting makeup off too, when I do wear it lol. Highly recommend!

Smells great, does a good job of cleaning makeup off (if you do have a full face and thick makeup on might need to wash twice). It's moisturizing and doesn't smell bad. Great for people with dry skin.
Thick To Milky 5
Valerie from Lakewood , CA
I first put some of this cleanser on my hands and spread it all over my face . Then I wet my hands and activate it causing it to go from a thick ointment texture to a smooth white milky cleanser. After I use this , I use my other skin care cleanser . This cocokind cleanser is great for any skin type and helps remove makeup and oil from the skin .
Wonderful 5
Alli from Fargo, ND
Such a wonderful first or second cleanser. It milks immediately if made wet and rinses completely clean with no need for a washcloth. It doesn't dry out my skin but makes it feel very clean. Fav cleanser ever!
Best Face Wash Ever 5
Steph from Akron, OH
I was was too excited when I found out this line was now at Ulta! What great news. This face wash is hands down straight magic. It cleans and removes makeup so well without any kind of stripped feeling. I'm obsessed with the smell and the texture of it. I used to not really like the face wash part of my routine because I either didn't like the way my face felt afterwards or I just didn't like the face wash. But this product has now made face washing one of my favorite parts. It starts out as a thick oily like substance and the second water is mixed it turns into a soapy cleanser without leaving any oily feel at all! U can use this a couple ways however, I really enjoy rubbing the thick part on first before any water because it feels soo good on my face. After it is rubbed and massaged in my face I then put water on my hands and rub my face to let it turn into the soap. I would recommend this to everyone!
Great for Dehydrated/Healing Skin 5

When I originally tried this cleanser, I wasn't the biggest fan. I didn't think it removed makeup super well, and I felt like I had to use too much product to really make it worth it.
I bought it again after a few months and... I love it.
I massage it dry on to my skin and spend 30 seconds to a minute working it gently with my fingers, similar to how you would use an oil cleanser to break up product. I then use water to wash it off. It does leave a "tackiness" others have mentioned, but I believe that's just because it's not stripping the skin like harsh cleansers do- and we don't need that.
I found using a damp konjac sponge with this cleanser helps remove the tackiness, if it bothers you, and helps achieve a more thorough clean while still being gentle.
It's okay, it's not ideal for everyday use. 3

Sticky, tacky, hard to use, does not remove makeup 2
Amanda from Austin, TX
I struggle to understand why this product has 5 stars. It's a tacky paste that is difficult to spread because it goes on so sticky. You have to mix it with water first in your hands and even on the face it doesn't remove makeup. If you want a better product try the Burts Bees cleansing oil. Much better!
Best Cleanser!!!! 5
Auney from Seattle
I can't rave enough about cocokind and all of their products! This facial cleanser is my favorite! I've tried so many facial cleansers and theirs is hand down the best. It cleans my skin while leaving my face feeling so soft and refreshed! I highly recommend doing yourself a favor and purchasing this cleanser!
I like it but... 4

I love this cleanser for days I don't wear makeup. It makes your skin feel so good afterwards! It's a weird texture and doesn't come off easily without using toner. Not really an issue if toner is in your skincare routine but if it's not, I feel you may not like this product. It also makes a mess due to the consistency but I use it in the shower and that helps a lot!
Favorite! 5
Jenae from California
Great for people who want to try oil cleansers. This one is perfect. Not drying and leaves my skin feeling moisturized. But make sure to always tone after!! I like to wet my face with warm water and then apply. Love!
Leaves skin firm and soft! 5

Wet hands and squeeze out, rub hands to create milky a texture.
Facewash favorite 5
Elizabeth from Westport, CT
It takes a little getting used to when you first use it (because it's not drying out your face like I was used to with other face wash) but it honestly adds so much moisture and softness to my face. It's the best! I can't believe I was using things on my face that was stripping all of that away.
LOVE THIS!! 5
Sheabudda from California
Best natural cleanser I've ever used. I wish I can buy a bigger size instead of buying multiple! I love it so much I've been using it as a body wash. Also, it's amazing for shaving.
I personally did not like it 1
Em from Maryland
I bought it to clean light makeup off before using another cleanser. I hate the synthetic citrus type smell, the consistency is awful, it runs down your arms, INSANELY hard to rinse off. It also didn't actually do anything for my skin or take off my makeup.
best oil cleanser 5

Does the job, but not right for me 3
Caroline from Tacoma, WA
This is very thick and leaves a considerable amount of oil once washed off, even after emulsifying. I find that you have to use a lot to cover the whole face. It barely turns milky too, it's weird. I'm also not a fan of the scent, very strong essential oil. Otherwise it doesn't break me out, it works as my first step in double cleanse, and it's relatively affordable.
Perfect cleanser 5

I already bought a second because I can't imagine ever being without it. My skin is so sensitive to most cleansers and I have had a hard time finding one that I like let alone love. This one is it! It is so creamy and leaves my skin hydrated but clean.
