Most Helpful Positive Review Love it! Only takes 2 passes, & leaves thick hair smooth!
I do both straight and waves curls! It used to take me close to 1 1/2 hours to curl or straighten my thick hair, & even then it wasn't silky smooth! This flat iron cut my time in half if not more and leaves my hair silky smooth! LOVE this flat iron!!!!
Most Helpful Critical Review Pink Hot Tools Flatiron
Just to start off the review with a brief description of my hair type: I have thick, long, red hair - which is naturally coarse. With that being said : I was searching for a straightener, since my GHD broke (which is the best straightener - but the cost I couldn't afford since it's the holiday season). So I saw this iron was on sale & was a cute pink. I do have a cosmetology license and used Hot Tools when I was in school and had no problems with their styling tools - so I figured I would try this iron out. With the type of hair I have - it did not straighten the ends. I used my thermal flatiron products but it still didn't help. Another one of the main reasons I returned this iron after a few weeks was it pulls your hair. I also noticed since the plates were not ceramic - it left my hair smelling funky like it was burnt. Overall, I would not recommend this iron if you have thick, coarse, or long hair. I hope this review was useful for you !

I have had this straightener for close to 5 years and it still works like brand new!! My hair is long down to my butt, it's not thin hair nor thick; in the middle. My hair stays straighten and helps with frizzy!
Adri from San Bernardino
You have to pass it on your hair a few times to get it to straighten. The frizz was less, I'll admit that. But it pulled my hair.
The best ever

For 31 years I'd been dealing with my hair to have it straight all the time. It took me 2-3 hrs to straighten my hair with my Revlon flat iron. But this one? In 40mins I'm done. This is a life saver. I'm confident of myself if my hair looks good.
Very good flat iron but doesn't last long
JustMe from Pennsylvania
I've had this for a couple years and it worked great. Until yesterday, when it just up and died. Too much $$$ for such a short-lived flat iron. Will not be buying this again.
Worked for the price

I liked the heat on this product, the price, and the color. However, it pulled my hair and I hate that the buttons were on the outside. I would always hit the buttons while straitening and it would change the temperature on me.
Definitely buy again!

I have had this straighten for 4 years. And I used it almost everyday. I used it to curl my hair etc. I absolutely loved it. Today it wouldn't turn on and said error. But for as long as I have had it. It's one of the BEST straighteners I have ever bought.
had for about 3 yrs

still like it, use it a few times a month, I have really long thick kinky wavy hair and this works well and gets way hotter than you need. I usually use 420 if I want my hair straight straight fast
My experience 🥴

I just got mine towards the end of 2019 not even a whole year and just last week it stopped working I loved it at first until it started to mess up it would get hot then it would turn off then it would get super hot were I almost thought my hair 😵was going to be fried I could of just gotten a bad one but this just my experience with it I even kept it in the box oh and after awhile the paint would start to wear off too so I'm not so sure I would want to buy it again now I'm looking for a better straightener 😪
Chrissy from Gilbert
I love this straightener. I have curly hair and it straightens it so well and makes it look shiny, and it feels so smooth on my hair when I use it. It doesnt pull on my hair like some straighteners do. The price is great too! Not too expensive and works so well! I highly recommend.

Mine broke in 1/2 of a year.
I don't get the bad reviews, honestly.
Vaya from Memphis
I curl, straighten, wave/crimp, do it all on 380 degrees. I've had two of these straighteners, same exact one. I used the first one for 4 years and it was WORN before it gave out.. I've had this one for about 2 1/2 years and I'll be buying it again when this one goes bad. My hair is very healthy.

It gets the job done but it takes several passes and I don't have thick or course hair. And it snags my hair and my hair gets caught all the time. I will be buying something else. This will work for now but not my favorite at all.
Worked okay until..

Not worth the money. I had it not even 6 months and it just stopped working which was unbelievably annoying as I was halfway through styling my hair and it went cold. I had to get out my old Conair flat iron to finish up. When it did work it was only okay, definitely not worth paying almost $70 for. I had $20 flat irons that lasted me 5+ years.
Pdxagogo from Portland, Oregon
It's fine. It's not the best, not the worst. If I could go back I would spend more to get a better product or less to get a similar quality. The surface area isn't big enough.
Dee from Lakewood
It's great for short hair
Love my new flat iron

worst straightener ever
xt from ny
i got this free with the purchase of the hot tools curler from UTLA and thought i hit a home run with a free straightener. i tried to straighten my hair today, hair is soft and wavy, and it took forever to heat up. it claims it gets up to 400+ degrees but i had it on for over 30 minutes and even to the touch it wasn't that hot and then once i tried to style my hair, it took like 10 passes to have any sort of straightening effect. total disappointment and waste of my time. would give zero stars if i could.
Honestly just go

This flat iron snagged my hair and the buttons don't work well. The power button broke completely. I don't recommend this iron, poor quality for the price!

Ladies please beaware of this product! I had my curlers for about 2 years no signs of damage. Today was the worst day with this product. Like one commenter said this product burned my hair out and completely blew up! Just like she said I was straighting my hair and the essential front parts when my curlers started to flash blue which is and indicator the curlers are off so I pressed and held down the button but it started flashing 65 f!! I didn't think nothing of it since it was now green and I straighten on much higher heat. I placed the curlers on my hair and it didn't straighten it. Then I touched the hair and some of my bang was burned off. Falling in my hand. I went back to the curlers, now they have no power even plugged in not even flashing a temp. I say this to warn you all to be careful or not but them!! Luckily it was the shorter piece of my bang, sadly it is the front most center part of my hair ☹️☹️😳👎👎 hair type is thick but front is more wavy hair
Not what I expected

In order to straighten my hair, I have to go over it multiple times. It also snags hair.
Works well, until it doesn't
Edna from Orange, CA
The iron gets hot very quickly and it gets very hot. Works well with thick hair, however, I think it's damaged my hair more that ceramic plates. I have had it for almost a year and it stopped working.
NOT WORTH PURCHASEING
KENYA from kennewick
Ran it through my thick hair 5 times and changed the heat settings and still didnt really do anything noticeable to it. than i tried it on my daughter's hair and it barely even straightened hers. very disappointed. they have a great line of curl irons and i was hoping it would be the same for their flat irons too.

I hold on tighg to my flat irons. Mine finally decided to give up on me. This was the BEST replacement!!!
Could be good, but it's not
Marie from Whittier, CA.
I exchanged a CHI Ulta Beauty Red Straightener because that one did nothing for frizz and it had very minimal settings for this one because a team member recommended it. She said hot tools is known for their curling irons but that this one is very underrated and she said she uses it herself so I believed her. I didn't like it though. It snagged my hair every. single. time. I couldn't finish doing my hair it was that bad. I read the reviews and some say it worked out for them so I figure maybe they're not all like that. I decided to give the brand another chance so I just upgraded to the Hot Tools Radiant Blue Digital Titanium Flat Iron 1 1/2". So far, so good. It didn't snag my hair at all. Heats up fast and tames frizz. I had the Kardashian 3 in 1 for 3 years and I loved it but it got wet and stopped working. For the money, it's not bad. Of course the babyliss (or some other expensive one) is amazing but I can't get myself to pay that much.
