Most Helpful Positive Review It's not for everyone, but here's the honest truth
I got this last year for the first time with my fall FFF box. Instant love and here's my 100% brutally honest review! First off, let me say that if you have greasy hair or wait for a week to wash your hair then this product is not for you. I would say it's more for those with flaking issues or people who use a lot of product that creates scalp build up. It's not really a true shampoo and more like a hair treatment to use once or twice a week. So yes, the smell is vinegar, but that's what the product is. It's tolerable for the most part to me. However, if you want to complain about the smell because you hate the smell of vinegar, then don't buy this product. Or any of the apple cider dpHUE products for that matter. It won't lather well either because it's not a soap based shampoo with all that extra junk in it to make it suds. You'll end up using more than you thought you'd have to because you're expecting those suds. Also, don't just use it on your scalp and let it sit there. Move your hands around like you normally would with any other shampoo. Get your nails on your scalp and scrape off that old skin/build up. Even apply on the length of your hair and work around. After rinsing if you feel that your hair isn't as clean as you would like then use a small amount of your normal shampoo and give it a go. Be a directions breaker - it's ok, I won't tell anyone. Also, a tip from me to you. Use a conditioner afterwards regardless of what the directions say. Whether it's a light cream or heavier cream - use something. Just trust me on this one. Don't just use the ACV and let it be done, I can tell you that you won't like the end product if you do. It does tend to dry the hair out for most people. Let's face it, everyone is unique and thus, not everyone has the same hair/scalp combination. If you followed the directions and everything worked out for you then YAY! However, if you tried and feel like you wasted your money, don't. Find a way to make the product work for you.
Most Helpful Critical Review Greasy scalp and weird residue throughout after using.
I have long, thick, wavy, color-treated hair that is prone to frizz if I don't heat style. I also have seborrheic dermatitis, so I really have to watch what goes on my scalp while still ensuring that whatever goes on my hair conditions and detangles while leaving no heavy residue. I gave this product line a shot and bought the rinse, scalp scrub, and dry shampoo. I have not used the scrub yet, but used the rinse in place of shampoo and conditioner. I used it after 2 days without regular shampoo, so my hair was a little dirty and my scalp was starting to get oily. The rinse smelled, and I hate the smell of vinegar. But it was tolerable in the shower as long as I rinsed my face often to clear the smell from my nose. I followed the rinse directions, running it through parted hair along my scalp. I then rubbed it through, left it on for three minutes, and rinsed thoroughly. I let it air dry and was happy to find that the smell mostly dissipated, though I still got whiffs of it it as I moved about the house. It's cool weather right now, but I did wonder if I'd have to worry about the smell coming out with sweat during hot weather. Once my hair was dry, my scalp felt ok, no itch. However, the hair near the root was GREASY as all get out. The midsection of my hair felt super waxy with residue. And, the ends were dry and completely unruly - frizzy with no curl definition whatsoever. I tried to smooth it out with a round brush and dryer on low, but that did nothing to help. I then tried the ACV dry shampoo on the roots and it also did not help. The grease and reside was so bad that it looked like I hadn't washed my hair in over a week! I had now spent an extra 30 minutes trying to wrangle my hair and was late getting to an appointment. So I had to throw up in a clip and leave. Felt super gross all day. Had to rewash later with normal dandruff shampoo, lathering 2x followed up by a conditioning masque on the ends just to get it back to normal. Definitely don't recommend!!

I have thin oily hair, with a sensitive scalp so I can't blow dry and dry shampoo after a work out. This was way better than I thought it would be. There's a little bit of a slip to it, so it's easy to tell where you dispense it. It cleans my hair and scalp without drying out my hair. Will definitely be repurchasing.
I have a well with a water softener

So my hair gets weird. My hair is fine and 2B 2C but I straighten it 99% of the time. It gets flat and lifeless from my water. I have tried a lot of different clarifying shampoos (redken, devacurl, neutrogena, sauve, kinky curly) but they never seem to get all the salt or whatever from the softener/well out of my hair and they leave it so dry. This stuff gets my hair all it's bounce back like when I had city water! It's fluffy. It's shiny! It's soft but has life. It looks so good. You don't need much and you don't need to condition after, this does it all. When I wear my waves, they turn into ringlets! I only wish it wasn't so dang expensive.

My sister has struggled with eczema and a sensitize scalp. After years of going to the derm her scalp is finally returning to normal after using this product in combination w her prescribed topicals. Thank you, thank you.. nothing is worse than watching your little sister struggle w confidence & this has been the key.

When I maintain my hair it doesn't usually get oily so I only end up washing it every 4 to 6 weeks. I just had surgery and didn't feel like doing a whole wash so I used about 4 oz on my wet parted hair and scrubbed the heck out of my scalp. My hair immediately felt lighter, cleaner, and fresher. My scalp was breathing for the first time and I don't know how long. The only downside was that it left my hair a little dry so I used a quick mask on my ends and my hair and scalp feel incredible. Will absolutely be ordering again
I wouldnt buy it if you have dry hair

Only made my scalp worse

My friend recommended this in her beauty blog, so I thought I would give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised how good it worked. My hair felt softer and cleaner after one wash. I used a hair mask after the shampoo bc its very drying. The smell of the shampoo is kind of funky bc of the apple cider vinegar. But that aside, this is a great product!
Perfect for fine hair
Lizzy from NV
I have never been able to skip a day of washing or use dry shampoo...it just doesn't work for fine, thin, soft hair. This vinegar rinse is so perfect. I have gone to washing my hair 2-3 times a week and using the rinse the rest of the week. I love love love it. The detangler and heat protection spray work great with the rinse. I don't mind the smell of vinegar, so it doesn't bother me at all. You can't smell it after rinsing anyway. 10 out of 10!!!
Made my hair feel so clean and hydrated!

Very easy to use! Hair felt super hydrated and clean!!
Awesome for kinky coily hair
Ashley from Fort Lauderdale
I purchased the smaller bottle to try it out and I'm absolutely in love with it and will use it every wash followed by a moisturizing shampoo. The first product to get my hair squeaky clean to allow penetration from my other products! Going to get the bigger size now!
Works on dandruff
Halo from IN
I have curly hair, dry scalp with dandruff and hair gets greasy if I touch it too much. This cuts through the dandruff! I use once a week. Hair feels stiff during rinse out so I follow with normal shampoo and conditioner and my hair has never looked better and my scalp feels amazing. A much needed relief from the pain and itch. Been using for months now. Smell isn't great but is easily erased by conditioner. Price is high but has been the only thing that has been this effective.
After trial and error, I love it!

I had tried this product a couple times before and found that my roots were super oily and breasy afterwards. Determined to figure out how to make this product work for me I tried again but this time I used enough in my hair to create a "lather" almost and let it sit for less than a minute and then rinsed really, really well. After my hair felt really good and wasn't not oily at all! My recommendation is to not take the "small amount" on the directions too seriously because I found that the more I used and worked it into my scalp the better it worked.
Great for fine hair!

I normally don't like to go without washing my hair because the roots get oily fast and I have fine hair. This product let's me extend a few days and makes my hair shiny and soft. I also have great body instead of limp blah! I am amazed at the shine. Tried a sample and now have ordered the big bottle plus the mask. The scrub was okay but I think the rinse made a bigger difference.
Made my hair greasy

I wanted to love this but it made my hair so greasy. My roots were so greasy they looked wet. Won't be repurchasing.

I have thick, curly, highlighted hair, and I also have psoriasis on my scalp. I have been using regular ACV on my hair (it helps) and so I thought I'd give these products a try. I used the scrub first and as soon as I went to rinse, I noticed my hair felt really thick as if it had tons of build up, I kept rinsing and followed with the DpHue ACV rinse. I rinsed and rinsed and the product never seemed to come out. I got out the shower and started to style my hair, and noticed the hair on the top and back of my hair were very greasy and full of product. I had to jump back in the shower and shampoo my hair 3 more times and it still feels a little greasy all over. So disappointed. I had really hoped to like this product
I would buy again

I tried this after the scalp scrub and they felt great! My hair feels super soft and my hair just felt great after. I did notice some hair fall out. But I really liked it!!
my new fav

I've used the rinse five times now. I LOVE IT. My hair doesn't feel weighed down, and doesn't get greasy as fast. I'm extending time between washes and it's SO shines. Worth every penny!
It's ok but stinks
Megan S from Connecticut
I honestly hate washing my hair but I'm a nurse and with the current pandemic, I need to wash my hair after every shift. I love using this instead of shampoo so I don't fade my color. My only complaint is that you can really smell the ACV. The smell doesn't stay on your hair after you rinse but it's offensive when it's on your hair. I use a good smelling conditioner to help counteract the smell. I feel like it does clean my hair and helping to keep my color. Overall I like it and will repurchase

Yes the price isn't the best but it does exactly what I want! Hair looks amazing after I use. I will go a week without washing my hair and I use this product and it looks like I just washed my hair!
Bre from Virginia
I have really fine hair and I typically have to wash my hair every other day. I wash it one day and style it and then wear it up the next and then have to wash the next day because it gets oily so quickly. This is a nice substitution for shampoo without the damage over shampooing can do. The only thing was I felt like I went through it so quickly and it is kind of pricey, and I only used it once a week. If I used this everyday or even three times a week, is probably be replacing it every two weeks.

I got this as a sample when ordering the glaze. I was very skeptical as this was never a product I thought would work for me. I used this today and I LOVE IT. My hair is clean and healthy feeling and all build up / oil is gone which is incredible. I think I'll be using this at least 1-2 times a week between washes. I also just love simple one step hair cleaning products so this is ideal.
This is all I use!
Stacey from Virginia
I love this product. It is a little expensive and i don't love the price point, but it is the only thing that has helped my scalp + keeps my hair looking good. My scalp is always super dry but my hair gets oily quickly (i have no idea how this works). Regular shampoos cause severe flaking, itchiness, and dryness. I tried making my own ACV rinses but they caused my hair to be frizzy and crispy. I use this twice a week, and wash my hair with just water in between.
Good but too expensive
Alex from Bozeman, MT
It's great for using in between shampoos and after workouts. I have oily, stick straight fine hair and like to use it every other day. Doesn't leave any residue for me, works like a shampoo but without all the lather and hydration stripping. The only con is that it's so overpriced. I will be trying to find a less expensive alternative before repurchasing this.
Love this gentle cleaning rinse!
Activemom from Minneapolis, MN
I use this rinse instead of shampoo when my hair is sweaty from a workout but not really "dirty" I get the results of shiny, clean hair without drying or stripping my hair. My color seems to last longer when I use this rinse a few times per week instead of shampoo.
Great for brightly colored hair!
EvisceratedLady from Nebraska
Ok so I recently jumped on the mermaid hair bandwagon. I went from having naturally black hair to bright blue, purple, and turquoise hair. Hint: If you're going to bleach your hair, especially if it's dark, use Olaplex!
Anyway, I bought this because bright hair colors fade fast and I wanted to prevent that. I also wanted to rebalance my scalp after the bleach. Prior to using this, I had saturated my hair in hair oils and left it on overnight. Instead of shampooing, I used this rinse to see if it could cut through the grease/oil and leave my hair clean looking. If DEFINITELY removed the oils much better than expected! My scalp felt much less dry and itchy afterwards. It has a slight vinegar odor (duh, because it's vinegar) but it doesn't smell as much as I thought it would and the smell goes away after rinsing. I rinsed very thoroughly with cold water for about 3-5 minutes. It felt super clean but a little dry so I used conditioner after.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone with colored hair - especially semi-permanent color that gradually fades and washes out. Just make sure to shake the bottle prior to using and rinse thoroughly. It's up to you on whether you need a conditioner after, but it definitely felt like I needed it so it can't hurt.
