Most Helpful Positive Review the ONLY sunscreen my face tolerates
I have young skin (21 y/o). My skin is well-pigmented in that I've only gotten sunburned twice in my life. But, my skin is majorly acne-prone. I could NOT find a sunscreen that would work it. For a while, I just stopped using sunscreen altogether, even though I felt guilty going without.
I have broken out using sunscreen from brands like CeraVe, Cetaphil, Neutrogena, EltaMD, Australian Gold, Coola, Banana Boat, Dermaogica, etc. I was discouraged because I wanted the benefits of sunscreen, but it seemed like my skin HATED sunscreen products. I reached for this at Ulta on a whim.
First of all, the product is mattifying. It does not have that characteristic greasy look (as I experienced with EltaMD). It did not leave a white cast. It makes me skin feel soft, not tacky. And NO BREAK-OUTS!
Second, the application can be tricky. I found that I could not go crazy rubbing it in or it would pill up & make a mess. My approach is to gently pat this into my skin & it works beautifully.
I will also note that when I first started using this, a red painless spot would appear on my chin as I wore the product throughout the day. I still have no clue what that was all about, but within a week of continuous use, the red spot stopped appearing.
If you've just about given up on facial sunscreens, give this a try! Hopefully you'll find this as pleasant & skin-saving as I have :)
Most Helpful Critical Review Sensitizing
I had such high hopes for this sunscreen, as I love LRP but this was SO sensitizing to my skin it is unreal (I don't have sensitive skin either, so this was very surprising). I love the texture and that it blends out clear, doesn't make me oily and in fact, seems to help keep my skin less shiny and smooth-so 2 stars for that. I thought maybe my retinol was making me sensitive to this product so I stopped using the retinol for a few days to retry this but this sunscreen makes my skin burn when it comes in contact with ANYTHING, including water. And not just a quick burning sensation-the burning lasts for hours after application. I don't have any known skin allergies so I'm really confused as to why this is happening. Needless to say, I will not be repurchasing or recommending this.

This sunscreen started pilling when I rubbed it into my skin. I feel like I spend such a long time rubbing it into my skin in order to counteract the pilling. Throughout the day it clung onto my dry patches and made my skin look flaky! It also left a white cast. It also badly stung my eyes if I were to ever tear up or sweat fall into my eyes after a run. I will not be repurchasing or recommending to a friend.

I have applied this twice and it pills my keratinocytes immediately all the time

This made me tear up constantly! It left a white cast. It pilled. I seriously don't understand the high ratings! Buyer beware.
LeilaMarise from Orange
Not recommended as it looks like your skin is dried and starts flaking under the makeup.
Works well on my oily skin
J from Miami, Florida
I'm really surprised at all the bad reviews because I haven't had any issues thus far with this sunscreen. My skin is oily & I apply this sunscreen after my moisturizer. It blends in easily, doesn't leave a white cast, and doesn't make me break out. I've only been using it for a few days, so thats why I gave it 4 stars. However, I still haven't had any issues with it. It sits well under my makeup and doesn't ball up, which a lot of my other sunscreens have done (even the good ones). It does make my skin kiiind of burn when I initially put it on? It's a very, very mild sensation. I typically have sensitive skin so that could be why. However, I still haven't experienced dried out skin or breakouts. I'd probably repurchase.
pills and leaves white cast

I bought a bottle yesterday of the LRP Anthelios Clear Skin Oil Free Dry Touch Sunscreen Lotion and put it on today and am not a fan. It pills and has a noticeable white cast. It is a bit drying on the skin also.
The Only One for Me
Yellow Chicky from undisclosed
This is the only sunscreen that I have been able to consistently use and finish. After applying this to my skin, it dries down and is non-greasy and not sticky. It is lightweight and my skin feels as if there is nothing on it. The only time I remember that it is on is when it gets into my eyes (oily eyelids) and stings, but that is my fault for applying it too close to my eyes. Yes, it does tend to result in a few eraser-like rubbings when rubbed in too vigorously, but this is a minor issue since I can always use a tissue to lightly brush them off. I have also tried more natural products containing zinc oxide, but failed to consistently use them because of how they felt on my face which makes this a better choice for me.
Very sensitizing, otherwise perfect
RetroGal from OH
This facial sunscreen was almost perfect. I'm disappointed it didn't work out. It has a lot of good things going for it. It's definitely the most mattifying facial sunscreen I've used, and even so, it didn't make my skin feel dry; just smooth and soft to touch, and I have oily skin. It is also very lightweight, although the texture is thick and creamy, so just be sure not to use too much. It didn't cause me to breakout which is hard for me to find, so that was very exciting! It did have a very minor white cast. I have pale skin, so it was almost not noticeable. The worst con was that by the second day of using it, my skin was very sensitized, more than normal, like if I gently itched my face, my skin felt like it was burning. Overall, I think it's worth a try, but be mindful of if it sensitizes your skin.

If I could give a zero I would. It made my face super itchy, red, as no my face is flakey. This whole company is a joke.
Sara from Vegas
I wanted to love this product! Unfortunately the formula is terrible.. leaves a white cast on your face even after you rub it in and it clumps up into tiny balls.. doesn't sit well with any other products on your face. The only thing I liked was that it didn't clog my pores and it did leave my skin soft other than that I hated it and won't be buying it again.
Worst sunscreen I've ever bought
Jazmin from Memphis,Tennessee
I started using it and I wasn't sure what was causing me to get small pimples all over my face along with uncontrolled itchiness so I discontinued to use it. I immediately noticed a change in my skin and it became way better.
Not buying again

SPF and I have never been friends until now. I've always used it in my moisturizer, but couldn't find something non greasy/heavy/trying to do too much to reapply over makeup or on no makeup days.
This doesn't break me out, feel oily, cause oiliness, or ruin my makeup. I haven't noticed any or pilling. I put in on my fingers, kinda warm it up to spread it, and then press it into my face.
The only thing I've noticed is that it does make my skin MATTE when I reapply it over makeup, so you might need to reapply highlight if you're wearing it. I also use a lot of mattifying products so this could be a just me problem :)
I haven't noticed any ill reactions to: other skincare products, primer, makeup, setting sprays, etc. I did the trick were you reapply the sunscreen with a dry beauty blender - and it worked! So if that's your thing then it does work with this spf.
Hope this helps!

Non greasy. Weightless. Awesome for everyday use. Works well with others (moisturizer, primer, make up etc).
Terrible for sensitive/oily acne-prone skin
SMI from Long Beach, CA
This burned my face so much, especially around the top of my cheek bones. It caused my face to get very red. It also leaves an awful white cast all around my face. Alongside all of this, it broke my skin out so so bad. I love everything La Roche-Posay, so I was extremely disappointed with this product. It's not worth it.
Doesn't sit well under makeup
Kate from Louisiana
Doesn't leave a white-cast or anything but even after applying it and 30 minutes later trying to put my makeup on it crumbles on my face. I'd use this if I didn't wear makeup for the day.
Not what I expected
Kenia from Houston
Oily/Acne prone skin.
Not matte enough for my skin type
Leaves a slight white cast! DISLIKE!
Texture: light lotion like
Still testing it out, but so far it not what I expected for the price.
Good for acne prone skin, formula needs to be creamier
Zuly from Puerto Rico
My dermatologist recommended this sunscreen to me since I've begun to use a retinoid and it's important to use sunscreen on retinoids. I have a big problem with most chemical sunscreens because they tend to make me break out horribly but this one doesn't at all. That's honestly the most important thing for me when it comes to sunscreen. However the texture is kind of weird / grainy and I have to put it on essentially right over my moisturizer (ASAP) and apply in sections because if I let it dry even the tiniest bit on my face, blending it in becomes impossible and it pills and gets flakey on my skin. If you blend it in and then start to touch your face a lot, the sunscreen pills right off too.
Because of this, it does not perform well under makeup. For daily use around the house or to the beach this is a good sunscreen but you won't be able to wear makeup on top of this because the sunscreen will flake all over your face and make you look dry and patchy. The fact that my skin is a bit dryer from my retinoid probably only emphasizes the patchiness that this sunscreen can cause. It also does leave a white cast but honestly I don't mind that too much.
Overall I would repurchase this for those casual, makeup-free days but I would not wear this under foundation or any other type of makeup.
If you have sensitive skin beware

I was excited to try this sunscreen but unfortunately my entire face turned red because of it. It was not fun. Highly recommend patch testing first.
The only sunscreen that didn't make me break out
anonymous from New York
Using sunscreen was impossible for me because most of them caused my oily skin and acne issues to flare up.. this was the first one in a decade that works perfectly!
Good for acne prone
A from Cali
I have fair skin so I cannot say if it will leave a cast on a darker skin type but it is quite thick so I mix it with a lighter moisturizer every time I put it on so it's easier to apply. It leaves an almost matte finish on my skin and NEVER feels greasy and makes my skin feel really good. Give it a try you can always return it!
Didn't work for me

This sunscreen leaves a white cast and caused acne for me. Would not recommend.

Is impossible to blend, is grainy and it just sits on your face without ever being absorbed. Unless you want to look like you have dandruff on your face buy this product. Very disappointed.
A good sun cream
KayCee from Czech
A nice ingredient list, famous brand for acnes and sensitive skin. Not leaving a grossly skin after applying. But a big minus is that it can create some pilling effects when you move your fingers across your skin, espeacially, used with other skincare or makeup products
- I hope the company can fix this problem. I've used this product for over a year but still can not be satisfied with the texture.
Best sunscreen I've ever used
Megab from Utah
This is literally the best sunscreen I've ever used! It leaves no white cast on me, and it melts into your skin and leaves your skin feeling super soft! I absolutely live this sunscreen and would recommend it to anyone. I'm not sure if it would leave a white cast on a person of color, but i would recommend!
