gorgeous, lightweight sunscreen

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] as an asian sunscreen lover and a general sunscreen hater, i was skeptical about this sunscreen—but i absolutely adore it! i often prefer the texture and look of chemical sunscreen, i'm often hesitant with them because the formulas can fl...are up my rosacea or make my (sensitive, dry, acne-prone) skin burn/sting. i usually stick with a mineral sunscreen for this reason, or a handful of different asian ones (usually chemical) because they feel more gentle on my skin, but also because i cannot. stand. the texture. or the smell. of sunscreen. i LOATHE it. better than a sunburn, of course, but the misery of application and the occasional ghoulish cast over my already fair skin is enough to make me grimace in the best of times. i haven't tried any dior products before this, aside from a vintage skirt i thrifted and wear frequently, so i wasn't exactly sure what to expect. i was pleasantly surprised by how lovely this sunscreen is!!! FRAGRANCE: it has a light fragrance that i would prefer it without, but! it is gentle enough to not irritate my skin and it seems to fade quickly. to me, it's a soft slightly powdery, slightly floral scent. it smells very clean, and it smells very nice, but i would love love LOVE to see an unscented version! that being said, this doesn't have the signature sunscreen smell—so if it's between that and a light fragrance that isn't harsh on my skin, i'll take the latter. FORMULA: the formula is extremely lightweight. it feels like a gel moisturizer, and it's honestly a treat to apply. it gives this satin finish to your skin, which makes it look glowy and moisturized, but not oily or matte. it blends into the skin seamlessly and it feels slightly hydrating. as a dry skin girlie, i wouldn't use it in place of a moisturizer, but i've had no problems applying it over the top of my usual gel water cream. the texture is also completely unnoticeable once it dries down, which happens in a very quick window of time! so it's not like a greasy coating on your skin. i often rub it into my hands with no problems either! MAKEUP: i do not wear foundation or concealer, so i cannot speak for whether it works well as a primer or pills up! but it works well over my water-based moisturizer. EXPERIENCE: i keep this sunscreen in my gym bag and apply it in the car on the way out. i think it's the perfect size for either a handbag or a beltbag because it takes up so little space, and the packaging is very cute and feels luxe. i have worn this sunscreen to the gym and on indoor and outdoor walks every day for the past nine days to give it a good test, and i am impressed! i don't think it's advertised as sweat proof, so ymmv, but i haven't had any sensitivity in the light or any sunburn on my hour walks outside or after commuting home from the gym after a sweaty cardio + lifting session. i haven't had any streakiness or eye-stinging thus far, and it isn't distracting to have on since the texture doesn't get all gross when i sweat. MISC: i get my boyfriend to test products to have a more rounded experience, and he was very impressed by this sunscreen! it's difficult to get him to apply any before work or on commute, but i don't have to ask him to apply this one! which speaks a lot to its formula in my personal opinion :) i also find the sunscreen goes a long way, but it also layers very nicely! so if you like to apply just a little sunscreen or a lot of it, this one should be good! i cannot attest to how well it removes with just water or plain face wash, as i always double cleanse with an oil cleanser and foaming face wash when i wear sunscreen, but my face always feels clean after i rinse it off! :) overall, i love this sunscreen!!!! i was considering a 4/5 for the added fragrance, but it's just that good! so a 5/5 for sure! it just melts right into the skin. attaching a picture of my unedited skin with the sunscreen dried down since i like to see that in reviews!
