creamy and love the shade range!

Karen read my previous. You can have several seats as well. Every single brand on the market caters to your lighter skin tone. No need to rate low because you're mad that deeper skin tones actually get to have options.

Great for full coverage!

my go to foundation and very affordable.

Excellent coverage and a nice, natural finish. I've used this product for years! Blends easily and pairs well with other complexion products. I like to use several shades to highlight and contour. Also good amount of product for the price!

Finding shades that will blend into my skin tone is so hard to find. It's either to ashy or too dark, but shade Chocolate, was MEANT😍
Shade range fantastic

Love the fact that after so many brands have failed to be inclusive to the ACTUALLY deep/dark skin tones, a brand has put emphasis to cater to those who are normally excluded. Love!

This brand was meant for women of color from olive to deep.
Blends easily and buildable : use a face spray to help move the product while doing patting motions.
Full coverage and long lasting.
Using the 123 method works wonders with this foundation.
Don't let the negative comments discourage you from trying these products from Black opal.
I highly recommend this products
Finally found a foundation that runs deep enough for me
Dina from US
I usually can't find my shade in a range. I've never felt included. But the shades I picked up have helped me. I was able to find a foundation shade and a contour shade! 😭 finding a contour shade has been so difficult for me but I took a chance here and I'm glad I did! Idk how anyone could be mad that makeup brands are acknowledging darker complexions. You'd have to be really inconsiderate and almost narcissistic to be upset that people with darker skin are finally being seen for their worth in the makeup industry. Especially since so many brands cater to lighter tones ♥️

I was so pleased to see Ulta carrying this O.G. brand! It's been a staple in the Black community for years! The foundation stick is emolient and great for out the door looks.

Wonderful product. Awesome brand!

Black Opal was created about 26 years ago to fill a huge gap in the beauty market. Even though the brand has been repackaged and there is new ownership, the quality is still solid and the shade range is consistent with the brand's original concept. Solid, reliable brand.
So happy Black Opal is finally at Ulta!!

It is wonderful to have another black owned brand at Ulta that caters to the skin tones of women of color. I've been using this brand for years. Suede Mocha is the perfect bronzer for me all year long because the undertone is perfect for my medium brown complexion. The stick form makes it user friendly and easy to target specific areas for bronzing without getting carried away.
As soon as Suede Mocha is back in stock, I will be grabbing a few sticks!

An amazing foundation for everyday as well as a great priced foundation for makeup artists.
Perfect match for years!
Blaire from Birmingham, AL
I've been using this foundation for SIX years and I'm so excited to see it at Ulta. It's a perfect match to my skin tone (Carob) and literally looks like my skin. Blk/Opal has been around for decades, and it's a great brand for darker skintones.
RATE THE PRODUCT NOT PERSONAL OPINIONS
MakeUp Lover 83 from MD
This product use to be my go to for my combination skin. It can get a little oily as the day goes on so I'd recommend for dry skin specifically unless you use a mattifying primer if you have oily skin. I was using the shade nutmeg which runs a little orange. The next shade up is Truly topaz which is slightly too yellow but I can make it work. Of course the shade range could be a little better but this is a minority based makeup line and reviews should be given based on the product itself and not personal opinions. RATE THE PRODUCT ITSELF. If you cant find your shade look elsewhere you wouldn't be the first nor will be the last to have to do so. We've ALL experienced that with makeup buying at some point and time not every brand is going to have your specific shade. Inclusivity is important but it still doesnt happen all the time with various companies so why leave a negative review based soley on your personal OPINIONS.

Beautiful product and amazing finish; and for the commenter complaining about the shade range... do you realize that brown and black women have been excluded from the beauty industry for DECADES while white and lighter skinned women have had brands cater to them practically by default??!! Just because a brand doesn't include your shade doesn't mean you are all of a sudden an underprivileged minority. There are tens or hundreds of brands out there that have a shade for you. No offense but your comment reeks of entitlement. If you have a problem with a line for tan and darker women go somewhere else and don't bring down the review just because a brand doesn't have your shade. Sheesh

Karen A.K.A. Brooke please go and have several seats. Black Opal has been around for a long time, since the 90s, and caters to women of color because so many brands especially back then, were and still are not inclusive with their shades of makeup for Melanin Queens. Nobody wants to buy from brands that feel so "pressured" to be inclusive. I'm so happy that Black Opal is now available at Ulta.
First time a foundation has matched me
Laura from California
I have never had a foundation that has felt so good on my skin and matched me this well. I'm so happy that Ulta has decided to add Black opal to their site.
