The product goes on super easily and stays on all day. It does have a slightly tacky finish that doesn't bother me much, but that's because it reminds me that it's still there and prevents me from touching my face. Lol Also the tacky finish is perfect for liquid or powder foundations as a primer. I have a lot of options to choose from for sunscreen as a professional esthetician, but Clinique hands down makes the best sunscreens IMO.
I am another one of those people that used the Super Cityblock SPF40 for -years- (like a decade). I LOVED the product, I would chose purchasing it over feeding my kids (JK). But for real, I would always be willing to pay 3x as much as other facial screen suns for Clinique's because I just loved it that much. I wear it daily before applying any kind of makeup and it made just as a fantastic base as a sunscreen.
So, this new product...I've been fortunate enough in life to have avoided any "products I LOVED replaced by a new product that I don't love"; until now. I don't hate the product and I'm still going to buy/use it. I did consider dropping to the sheer 25SPF, but as a pasty ginger, I want the higher spf. The formula doesn't seem to flawlessly spread as easily, it feels thicker, stickier and overall, I would give anything for the old product. I don't need a tint in my sunscreen because I do wear other makeup on top of it, so this just seems like overkill.
However, I'd still recommend it to friends because I love Clinique products in general and it's difficult to find products that contain the things I want and the things I need - specifically complete fragrance free. I still pass for a solid ten years younger than I really am, which I constantly give credit to my daily sunscreen use. I'm still going to forever miss the old product though.

So to start off I think it's really annoying to see every other comment complaining about bringing back the spf 40 like it's not gonna happen and it's gone so just stop complaint and actually rate the product. It's a really decent sunscreen and has good ingredients

I love using this product in the morning after I apply my moisturizer! The SPF protection is a must!

I use Clinique SPF 50 everyday as I makeup. I also liked the SPF 25 especially in the winter when the sun isn't as intense. I wish they would keep the SPF 25. The SPF 40 was also good.

Clinique city block has been my go to sunscreen for years. This is not the same. City block was the perfect sunscreen for wearing under makeup. This new one feels greasy.

I been using this product about 3 weeks and my face start to break out with the city block 40 it doesn't happen this before and also the texture it's too tick it doesn't go on your face as easy as the 40 very disappointed to buy this product and the other has to be discontinued. I don't know what this new formula it's doing to my face but I'm braking out so bad. Wish they put back the super city block back on the Clinique line.

I have pretty dry, sensitive, acne prone skin and I don't have any major issues with this. It doesn't dry me out and does not burn my skin (unlike some other spfs I've tried). I love that it's SPF 50+. My only qualm is that since it's tinted, if you put on a ton of it (which, you really should to get the full effect of the sun block) it can sit on the skin and rub off like makeup does sometimes. It was more noticeable the first week I wore it but now I'm through a whole tube and don't notice it anymore. Definitely worth repurchasing!

I was glad to see it has spf 50 but it isn't working out for me. I seem to have a reaction to it as I noticed tiny bumps and my skin looks irritated. I stopped using it and my skin is back to normal.

This product is tinted and I'm verrrry fair so I don't know if it's going to work for me

Please bring back SPF 40 Cliniques originals or the best and much better ingredients in City Block SPF 40 had antioxidants and this new formula has none sad to say, Clinique would take away a product that fights aging and replacing with a new product that does not provide anti aging ingredients.

I'm well aware that products that work for you won't work me and vice versa, but my issue with this product is the consistency. It's not thick, but it's very hard to spread. When I apply it feels like I'm stretching my skin. I have another spf (30) by dermalogica and it's way easier to work with since the consistency is like lotion, but obviously this one has more Spf.

! bought this to wear when I am gardening. I am familiar with the Clinique brand and was surprised that this product was so thick. It's ok, but it gums up when I perspire in the sun.

I use this product every day even if I don't go out of the house.

Older lady with younger looking skin because of this sun block by Clinique! Excellent product because it's light, airy and sheer. Won't clog pores and is very comfortable on my sensitive skin!!! Hope that it stays around at this wonderful price!

I have used Clinique city block original SPF 40 with the light tint for 20+ years. I have received many compliments on my skin looking healthy without sun damage by my peers and dermatologist. That's exciting to see the same city block light tint with SPF 50+
I just ordered two tubes !!

I use this as a primer usually. It works really well in that aspect. Makeup looks great on top of you're into natural skin/glowy makeup. The only think I'd change is the thickness. Otherwise, amazing.

I used the original version for 15 years. As a woman that had facial cancer, It is used daily, even if I am just staying home. The new version was like putting putty on my face. It was not easy to spread around. sun screen is not something you need to apply heavily for daily use. I am prone to break outs, and I could tell I would soon have some nasty acne going on if I continued to use this.
I went and purchased the original version in spf 25. Hoping that with sunscreen in my foundation, I can still be as protected as I was with the spf 40. I think they should continue to make the Super City Block 40.

It's a bit thick and seems a little oily at first but it dries down nicely. I am happy with my purchase.
