Most Helpful Positive Review Fabulous I love this product. I live in Hawaii, so sunscreen is a must. This is very light, does not irritate my eyes and my makeup goes on a little smoother. This is really worth the money. After buying others and returning them due to irritation this is great. Not thick or greasy.
Most Helpful Critical Review Only Suitable for oily skin I applaud Kiehls for expanding their line of sun-protection products. While this product does provide a very high UV defense that is broad spectrum, its texture is awful. It's greasy and makes your face shiny. But what's worse, is despite it feeling and looking so greasy, it dries the H*LL out of your skin. So if you have oily skin, this is fine. If you have dry skin, this product is a nightmare. I tried to apply it in a combination of the sunscreen with a little of the ultra facial lotion to make it better. I even put that combination OVER a layer of the ultra facial cream I already had on my face, and even those two moisturizers couldn't make my face feel better with this stuff.
I really hope kiehls comes out with another sun care product that's suitable for dry skin types, and that offers just as much protection as this one.

AlldayIkiehls from Fort Lauderdale, FL
I live in sunny south Florida, and the only face sunblock that I use is this one. It's pricey but it works. It blends into skin and absorbs. It does not cast a white film on my darker tan skin. Being a women of color it's important to find sunblocks that protect my skin, and also absorb well with leaving a white film. Kiehl's has done it with this product. I have repurchased this product. It's a cult favorite for a reason. Also, doesn't break me out at all.
Best Facial SPF 5
Shortly89 from Minnesota
I absolutely love how light weight this spf is. Its non-greasy & absorbs right into my skin as if its not even there. Perfect!

I sent a gift to a friend. My friend said he was very satisfied.
Not worth the money 1
Mandy's mom from New Mexico
Again - poorly packaged; leaked all over the very small bottle. Over priced for the amount.
Really Bad Smell, Thought I Bought A Fake One 1
Jennie123 from New York
I was using the previous edition, I didn't notice right now is a fluid version and I was using the fuel version until I opened the product, rancid smell, alcohol smell, and the liquid was like something I could never fix them well, really disappointed, threw it away and won't but it again.
My Skin Said NO! 2
FreeSpirit029 from Guerneville, Ca
Wish this could've worked for me. I enjoyed the light texture and yay, no white cast! I have freckle-prone skin and thought I had found my holy grail of sunscreens. Then, slowly but steadily, I started getting pimples. As I rarely get those, I finally had to admit that this Kiehl's product was the culprit. What a waste!
Great but lid is faulty 2
Tfish from Temecula, CA
This product is great but came with a faulty lid that leaks. This product needs to be shaken prior to use resulting in leaking and change in texture after a few days.
Delivers the Goods 4
DaphneJJ from Orlando, FL
This fluid spreads smoothly, is iight and non-greasy. With other solar protectant, I feel like I do have that additional coat over my face; not with this.
Did not change the texture of my skin
Burns eyes 2
Lovely from Riverside, ca
Don't like this product. If u sweat it will burn and irritate your eyes.
Best purchase ever 5
Drenee from Manteca, Ca
I love how light-weight this product is....the initial application is white but it fades into the skin leaving a slight dewy result. It's the perfect product for someone who doesn't like heavy product for the face. I 100% recommend
Love this brand, not really this product 3
Emily from Texas
I have several Kiehl's products, I am in love with this brand and have the best skin I've had in a long time. Some things I deal w/ are being acne-prone, oily, rosacea and very sensitive. I've been doing some research on rosacea and have read that wearing a daily SPF can help with redness (among many other benefits, of course). I wanted to make sure I was getting a product from a brand I believe in because face sunscreen has been tricky for me. It's usually greasy and breaks me out significantly. I spent the extra money for this product and am unfortunately not very pleased. Like other comments, this product does ball up on the face. I find that I have to let my daily moisturizer sink in for AT LEAST 10 minutes before I can put on my sunscreen. And the more you try to massage it into the face, the more it will ball up. Other than that, my MAJOR complaint about this product is that after applying and about an hour after it's on my face, my skin starts to burn. It feels as though I have a mild sunburn across my entire face where you can feel the discomfort and burn. Again, I have sensitive skin and apparently it's just not reacting well with me. I've gone a few days without it and then tried it again and it is 100% this sunscreen. I'm out side of my return time so I'm stuck with it and really disappointed. I hate having to purchase products to figure out what works for my skin. Just writing this in-depth review for those of you with the same kind of skin as me...just to think twice. I will say, it does eventually sink into my skin and does not leave it greasy so that's a positive.
AMAZING!! 5
adri from CA
this is the best sunscreen i've ever tried. my face burns so easily, and i got burnt only once using this, and it was my fault, not theirs. it is a little oily, but it works wonders. but after going into water or sweating a lot, make sure to reapply! i found out about this product through friends, and i recommend it to friends now. this is a must have!!
Why did they have to change what was a great product? 1
dhtravel from Los Gatos, CA, USA
My husband used Kiehl's Facial Fuel religiously because he needed a non-greasy product with high SPF 50. When Kiel's discontinued that product we ordered this product thinking it would be a good replacement. This was not the case at all. This product has such a strong oder that we wonder if it is rancid. Does that happen? I would never want to put this on my face and he doesn't either. Why do companies have to discontinue products with a loyal following. What a disappointment :-( I am writing this review on his behalf.
Best Sunscreen for Me 5
Be the Best from NV
Since it is new to me, I am still trying to learn the right amount to apply. Too much (first try) and I had to blot it to make it just right. Second day, it was fine. It does not leave a white cast, definitely a pro. For its high quality, the price is reasonable!
Absolutely the best sunscreen! 5
Charlotte from Jacksonville Texas
My husband takes medication that makes him very sensitive to the sun. He has never burned while using this product. Never without it!
Good product but no good service 4
Rebecca2019 from undisclosed
I have been using this brand all the time, and I occasionally go shopping online, but every time I buy a product online, they don't give me enough samples. Every time I pick three samples, they only give me two or one, and there is no Explain why, not to replenish me. So I prefer to go to the store to buy.
I would buy it again 4
onthetrain01 from California
I have a combination and mature skin. I was hesitant to try it because some of the reviews stated that it was disappointing. I have porous skins and I really need a product that is non-comedogenic and this product is supposed to have that property so I decided to try it anyway. It was fine; not exceptionally good but ok to keep.
Idk what to do 2
Mommylovingmakeup from MN
I've worn this fine under makeup when going to work, I'm not in the sun at all when Im at work. It doesn't effect my makeup or application at all but when I wear it alone and go into the sun, I get itchy and develop a red rash on my face and chest(where ever I applied it) I don't get what's going on. I'm very disappointed. Especially with the price and it's too late to return it because when I first bought it I would just wear it under my makeup. Since summer has started I've been spending more time outside and this happens every time. I had no problems until I started wearing it alone in the sun. Will never purchase again.
Love! 5
Eckharre from Charlotte, NC
I am super sensitive to the sun and prone to break outs....and I LOVE this sunscreen. I mix it in with Kiehls moisturizer every morning. The consistency is awesome - light yet actually works! Perfect for everyday use.
Not effective 1
Lbadbad from undisclosed
Every single time I wore the sunscreen, I got a sunburn. I?ve never had that before with any other sunscreen. I usually love all Kiehl?s products but this one is a no.
Love everything but the price 4
Jfold from Ypsilanti MI
This lotion is amazing. It is lightweight, unscented, applies very easily, and leaves a matte finish. Whereas most sunscreens are difficult to rub into the skin, this one applies very easily without leaving white steaks. It is also exceptionally lightweight and leaves zero shine, making it great for men. This is one of my favorite products and gets four- stars because of its price.
Not Oxybenzone free! 1
EllenS from undisclosed
Tossing this expensive sunscreen! I should have examined the ingredients more thoroughly before purchasing because it contains a suspect chemical - oxybenzone! Plenty of other sunscreens out there that do not contain it.
I really love Kiehl's products - otherwise.
Bring back Facial Fuel UV Guard! 1
CS75 from New York, NY
I have used this product before and I did not like it at all. It is not the same, nor is it an adequate replacement for Facial Fuel UV Guard. It does not go on the same, I feel it is a different consistency AND my face was sunburned after using it. I am a cyclist and the UV Guard was perfect. Super fluid did not work and I returned it. I am really disappointed that UV guard was discontinued and I will now have to go elsewhere to find a replacement.
Great sunscreen—skeptical about price 4
B from Oklahoma
I love the consistency of this sunscreen and how it sits on the skin and under makeup. Maybe I'm being too generous with it, but it seems like you need to squirt out a fair amount to cover all of your face/neck which sucks because it's a small bottle. I love the sunscreen itself, BUT I think I could probably find another kind I like just as much for a cheaper price. We'll see! I want to keep buying it, but it's not very affordable.
My favorite sunscreen 5
Sunscreen from Minnesota
I have been on the hunt for a sunscreen that doesn't make me look ashy. I'm glad I found this one.
