Q&A

Q
why is it pilling on my face and why does it feel gummy, then my face feels tight and dry
Asked by mature skin
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Pilling can happen for a few reasons, but is easily avoided! Most commonly, it is due to applying too much product, layering products too quickly, or using too many products at once, making it harder for each one to absorb properly. To avoid pilling, or a tacky, tight feeling after applying, we recommend starting with freshly cleansed skin that’s been gently patted dry, then applying 2–4 drops of the Vitamin C Serum, and massaging the formula in to help it absorb more effectively. Lastly, wait until the product fully absorbs before applying the next products in your routine. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can I use this serum with a moisturizer that has bio retinol? (Osea day cream has bio retinol)
Asked by Nimi
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Yes, you can pair our Vitamin C Serum with moisturizers containing bio-retinol. With both in your routine, we recommend using our Vitamin C Serum in the morning and saving your bio-retinol moisturizer for the evening. This allows each formula to perform at its best and support healthier, radiant-looking skin! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Is this serum okay to use on oily, sensitive or acne-prone skin?
Asked by Elle
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Absolutely! Our Vitamin C Serum is oil-free and expertly formulated to be gentle and effective for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin. The serum not only helps to balance oil production, but also visibly improves the appearance of acne discoloration and blemishes, helping to reverse signs of past breakouts. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
What % of Vit C is in this serum?
Asked by Sam
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Our vitamin C serum contains clinically-effective levels of an advanced and powerful form of vitamin C known as Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP). If you're not familiar, SAP provides the same benefits you are used to with the traditionally used L-Ascorbic Acid, without the risk of oxidation and irritation. The % of SAP in our product is comparable to a 15-20% L-Ascorbic Acid serum, resulting in an extremely effective product proven to reduce discoloration and brighten skin! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Hi, can I mixed this serum with retinol?
Asked by AlbaRam
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Both actives can surely coexist in your skincare routine! For best results, we recommend using our Vitamin C Serum in your morning routine and saving retinol-based products for nighttime. This allows each formula to work optimally without the potential risk of irritation. Was this answer helpful to you

Love this product and this brand!

I'm so excited to see that Ulta is carrying Mad Hippie! I have tried every product from this brand (with the exception of their SPF) and the vitamin c serum is the stand out product for me. I am very particular about good clean ingredients in my skin care and this brand definitely delivers. I have b...

Nowhere near as effective as L-Ascorbic Acid serums for me

I hate to say it since I love many of the Mad Hippie products (especially the eye cream, cream cleanser and antioxidant face oil), but this Vitamin C serum wasn't a win for me. I wanted to give this one a try because traditional L-Ascorbic acid C serums do cause some irritation on my sensitive skin....

I tried the small version on a whim, and I was receiving so many compliments on my skin! I bought the full sized product. Definitely a must in my routine.

This is one of my non-negotiable products! This was the first vit c I used and have since repurchased 3x. Within two weeks, my complexion was visibly brighter. I have very sensitive, reactive skin, and this does not irritate it at all! I wish they displayed the percentage.

Peels off when using with other products

I have tried to use this in many ways, alone and with other products but every time I apply friction to my face it peels off in clear micro amounts. Makes me look like I'm shedding.I even tried it alone and rubbing face a couple of hours later.

When I tell you, THIS is the one Vitamin C serum. This is it. Do not make my mistake and try to try out another brand. My skin misses this serum like crazy when I run out. I'll never make that mistake again! Price point is good, quality ingredients are great!
