I am currently wearing N12, but it is slightly too light. Chat GPt said to go to N18. I feel I have some redness in my skin. Would N 18 be a good next step. I do not like yellow tones at all. Please let me know as soon as possible. I am out of foundation. Thanks
- Asked by glyna
- Official Answer By MACThanks for your question! If the MAC Studio Radiance Serum-Powered Foundation in N12 is only slightly too light, N18 would be the next shade deeper and is a great step to try for a closer match. Since you mentioned redness and that you prefer to avoid yellow tones, you may also like prepping the skin with MAC Studio Fix 24HR Color Corrector in shade "Mint". The pale green shade helps neutralize redness before foundation application, giving you a more even-looking complexion. We hope this helps you find your perfect match! Was this answer helpful to you

I've been using IT Your skin but better medium Neutral 33 and it has been discontinued which formula and shade of your makeup would be best to replace it with?
- Asked by Michelle
- Official Answer By MACThank you for asking! If you were using IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare in Medium Neutral 33, a great match in MAC would be Studio Radiance Serum-Powered Foundation in NC35. If you prefer something a little more olive, NC37 could also work well. Medium Neutral 33 is a medium shade with olive undertones, which aligns really closely with NC35/NC37 in Studio Radiance. The formulas are also very similar - both offer medium, buildable coverage with a natural radiant finish and are skincare-infused with ingredients like hyaluronic acid for hydration and a skin-like look. We hope this helps! Was this answer helpful to you

I'm beige medium, number 3 on normal color, what color I need?
- Asked by Melissa
- Official Answer By MACWe're happy to help you determine your shade and tone family! For a medium complexion, some shades in the Studio Radiance Serum‑Powered Foundation to try are NC30, NW30, NC35, and NW35. This foundation has a luminous, hydrating finish, so it’s best to swatch along the jawline to see how it blends with your natural skin tone. If you’re more golden or yellow in undertone, try opting for the 'NC' shades like NC30 and NC35 and 'NW' shades (like NW30, NW35) if you're more rosy or have a pink undertone. Whether you lean warm, cool, or neutral, this formula gives a radiant glow while still feeling lightweight - perfect for everyday wear! Was this answer helpful to you

How do I find my shade ( color). I never tried Mac foundation .
- Asked by Donna
- Official Answer By MACThis foundation has a luminous, hydrating finish, so it’s best to swatch along your jawline to see how it blends with your natural skin tone. First decide whether you’re fair, light, medium, tan, dark, or deep. Then determine if your undertone is warm, cool, or neutral. If you’re more golden or yellow, try NC shades. If you’re more rosy or pink, try NW shades. The number represents the depth, and the letters reflect the undertone. No matter your undertone, this formula gives a radiant, lightweight glow perfect for everyday wear! Was this answer helpful to you

- Q
I got matched for the NC25 but not a fan of the peachy undertone. What would come close to this color without the peachy undertone, I'm looking for something more neutral.
- Asked by Gigi
- Official Answer By MACThanks for your question! If NC25 feels a bit too peachy for your liking, you might want to check out NW22 - it offers a rosier, more neutral undertone while staying close in depth to NC25. It’s a great option if you’re looking to tone down the warmth without going too cool. For the best match, try swatching both on your jawline in natural light. And if you can, stop by a MAC counter to test in person - seeing it on your skin is always the best way to decide. Was this answer helpful to you

What do the letters mean before the color numbers?
- Asked by Debbie
- Official Answer By MACGreat question! In MAC’s shade system, NC stands for Neutral Cool (for golden/yellow undertones), and NW means Neutral Warm (for pink/rosy undertones). The number reflects how light or deep the shade is—lower numbers are lighter, higher numbers are deeper. Hope this helps you find your perfect match! Was this answer helpful to you

My new favorite foundation
I'm excited to share my experience with this foundation, especially for people with extremely dry skin. As someone in the same boat, I've always struggled with foundations creating dry patches, but this one has turned out to be a game-changer. Mind you, I'm very picky with my foundation but the way ...

Comments about NC17.5
I was reluctant to try this after finding the Studio Fix foundation too drying/causing minor breakouts and after not liking the reformulation of the Studio Fix powder, however I am so glad I finally broke down. This foundation matches my color perfectly, isn't heavy and looks amazing. I barely feel it and it lasts all day. It's not cakey and looks very natural and no breakouts.

Comments about NC35
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with MAC Cosmetics and their Studio Radiance Foundation. I had been a loyal user of the Studio Waterweight Foundation for years because it provided the perfect light, natural coverage that looked smooth and effortless on the skin. It blended beautifully and never felt heavy or cakey. After learning that the Waterweight Foundation was discontinued, I was advised to try the Studio Radiance Foundation as an alternative. Unfortunately, it is nothing like the original product. The formula is incredibly thick and heavy, and instead of giving a natural finish, it cakes up on the face and settles in a very unflattering way. Rather than looking radiant, my skin looked dry, uneven, and unfinished throughout the day. This was a huge letdown because I trusted the brand's recommendation, expecting something similar to the product that worked amazingly for me for years. The Studio Radiance Foundation simply does not deliver the same lightweight coverage or comfortable wear. It feels like a completely different type of foundation altogether. I'm very frustrated that such an excellent product like the Waterweight Foundation was discontinued and replaced with something that performs so poorly in comparison. As a longtime customer, I feel very let down by the brand and highly disappointed with this experience. Very upset customer.
