Great Non-Drying Product
I was on a Royal Caribbean cruise and had my hair cut. The stylist recommended I stop using the mousse I had used for several years. She said it was drying out my hair. She used this texturizer and my hair was easier to style and held even in the humid cruise weather. Of course I bought it. I w...

Pass on this pretty bottle, terrible product!
Thankful that Ulta has a return policy because this went right back to the store. It really didn't give me the results that I hoped to have from the description. I felt like it made my hair oily and I really didn't see any softness or shine.

Smell too strong to finish the styling process
[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Unfortunately I wasn't able to complete a look with this product because the smell was so strong it set off my allergies and asthma. What was sprayed into my hair made it hard and crusty like regular hair spray so I had to take a shower to wash it out. That's potentially my fault for spraying too close or maybe too much? But the smell honestly kept me from using it any longer than that.

Impressive curl definition and hold
[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I did a side-by-side test with this styling spray, using it on only half of my hair so I could see the difference. When I first applied it, the spray felt a little tacky, almost sticky on my hands, and the hair on the side initially felt hard, like the curls were glued together. It also has a strong scent, although it did not bother me. The results, however, were impressive. Right away, the side with the product had noticeably less frizz and more defined curls. After two hours, the curls were still very defined and holding their shape, while the curls on the untreated side had already started falling. Six hours later, the difference was even more obvious. The side had become mostly wavy, while the side with the spray was still curly, defined, and noticeably less frizzy. Interestingly, the hair didn't feel as hard anymore, and I could no longer notice the fragrance. Despite the initial tackiness, this spray really delivered on curl definition and long-lasting hold. I was impressed by the difference between the two sides.

The perfect finishing touch!!
[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Perfect finishing touch! Excellent hairspray. it gives a strong hold, amazing shine and keeps humidity away. Doesn't feel crunchy or heavy ✨ my curly hair loves it 💚

I would buy it again!
This spray is amazing, set my hair in seconds and love that doesnt harder my hair. My hair feels like if there's no spray. Good price. You can find it at Ulta.
Would buy!
This product was a really great one! I keep it in my vanity to be within reach. It sprays well and I love the can it comes it. The product itself works great as well! I reach for it any time I'm styling my hair. It's not sticky and dries down well which I really appreciate.

- Q
Is this product 80 Voc or 50 Voc?
- Asked by Lisa
- Official Answer By SebastianThe VOC is no longer listed on our Shaper products. Depending which state you are purchasing in will determine the VOC of the can received. Due to VOC Regulation in certain states for the Reduction of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) in aerosol products, all manufacturers have been required to stop selling any hair finishing sprays with VOC content over 50 to the following states. AZ, CO, CT, DE, IL, IN, ME, MD, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, UT, VT, VA, CA, and DC. Here's a breakdown of the information about Sebastian Shaper hairsprays with different VOC levels: • No difference in hold: The holding power of Shaper Plus is the same whether it's the 50%, 55%, or 80% VOC versions. • VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compound: These are chemicals that evaporate easily at room temperature. In hairspray, they are used as propellants. • LVOC = Low Volatile Organic Compound: Shaper uses a low level of VOCs. • Drying time: ◦ Lower VOC versions might take slightly longer to dry and may feel slightly wetter initially compared to the 80% VOC version. ◦ There's minimal difference in drying time between 50% and 55% VOC versions. • Key takeaway: The main difference between the various VOC levels in Shaper products lies in their environmental impact and potential for contributing to air pollution. The lower the VOC percentage, the more environmentally friendly the product is. However, this doesn't affect the hairspray's hold or how it feels in your hair. Was this answer helpful to you
