TO INSTALL BATTERIES (not included): Remove battery cover. Install 3 AA new batteries as indicated on battery compartment. Replace battery cover by snapping it into place.

Does not last
I had this two years and replaced the batteries once when it was getting dim. I went to replace the batteries again and the light never turned on again. Not worth it for the price.

wonderful mirror would buy again
I had a old makeup mirror that lasted a long time, but alas she bit the dust. I wanted to just replace it with the same item, but evidently you cannot. I tried one of the rechargable ones, but the quality of the mirror was not great. I think they are great for folks with perfect eyesight, but for those of us with poorer vision it did not work well. I just wanted a one that had larger mirror surface and a plug for power. This one did the trick. The mirror surface is large and it is has a quality refractive surface. You can see clearly to put on makeup with out glasses. The lights are good and bright. My only complaint is you have to keep pressing a button to get the light color you want and brightness level. so I worry the button will fail with all the pushing. I hope it will last awhile as this modeel was hard to find.
