Prior to using the PMD, it is important to thoroughly cleanse the skin, making sure that it is free from all make up, dirt, and oils. Once the skin is clean, allow it to dry completely before you begin.
Before using the tool on your face, practice on your arm and on your neck. These areas are not as sensitive as the face and will allow you to get used to motion and the way a treatment is performed.
Use the white disc first. This disc is our most sensitive disc. It is important to see how your skin responds to this disc before moving on to more abrasive discs.
After you have tested the unit on your arm and/or neck and feel ready to move on to your face, use a free hand to pull the skin tight in the treatment area and continue to move the PMD Personal Microderm in an upward motion across the skin. Do not make more than two passes over one area during the treatment.
Following the treatment, use a toner to neutralize the ph balance in the skin and a recovery moisturizer.
After each use, clean the cap and the disc with rubbing alcohol or an antibacterial soap.
Wait 6-7 days between treatments.
Precautions: The Personal Microderm should only be used once a week. Microderm removes the top layer of dead dull skin and your body needs one week to rejuvenate. Be patient. Use it consistently and you will see results. Anyone using chemical peels or products containing acids including hydroxy acids, malic acid, lactic acid AND/OR retinoids or retin A ingredients, must not use the Personal Microderm at the same time! This may cause skin to be too sensitive and use of the Personal Microderm is not recommended. Before it is safe to use the Personal Microderm, you must discontinue use of these products for at least seven days. Consult your doctor or dermatologist if you are unsure that the Personal Microderm is suitable for your skin.

Where is the waste chamber and how do you clean it out?

This will need to be rinsed out and dried before putting the filter back on the device. You may also want to wipe out any debris in the cap and around where the filter sets. Do you have to replace the disks with new ones after you use it or can they be reused for years?

You will know that crystals on the disc have worn down when you no longer receive the same exfoliation (with that particular disc) as you used to. It is a little harder to get the needed suction since there isn't a lot of give in the skin on the feet/heels, but if the area is hard and calloused, you may want to remove the cap and just use the body disc directly on the heel area without the suction.Was this answer helpful to you

If you have having difficulty pulling it off, you may want to use some pliers--perhaps needle nose pliers to provide leverage so that you can grasp the disc with the pliers and then use your strength to pull the disc up.Was this answer helpful to you

This is an amazing device. At first I was skeptical but after trying it and allowed my face to heal I got the same results from the dermatologist office that does different types of facials so this pays for itself
Great and saves so much money
Everyone who is using this incorrectly is obviously dense. You shouldn't hover over your skin, that is how you injure your skin. Too many people rush improvement and think they will speed up results by going over their face multiple times. DONT. Everyone is commenting "I'll let the professionals do it" the professionals aren't going over your skin 5 times in 1 spot....I've used this product for 3 years and it has significantly improved my textured skin, acne marks, and deep scars in my face. I have used pretty much all the discs. If you follow directions and use as instructed and be patient over the course of 4+ months you will see improvement. It's also great as a once a week exfoliating tool
Vacuum and dremmel for your face
It works if you're very careful and stick to one pass per area. Its easy to injure the skin by going over the sand place twice or leaving the tool in the same spot to too long. It is badicslly a vacuum cleaner and dremmel for your skin. I will continue to use, but cautiously. Thr white "practice" disk is sufficient for me.

I read the reviews and thought, people didn't practice…they didn't read the instructions…they pressed too hard. I did exactly as instructed, watched the videos, used the test pad…and I still got red circles all over my face and patches of dry skin. I immediately returned this and I'm leaving It to the pros from now. I desperately wanted this to work for me but I recommend moving on and skipping this one.
