Use on dry hair Section hair into 1" sections. Ensure that the styler is as close to the root as possible before closing the plates. Gently move toward the tip of the section in one simple gliding motion. Repeat the process with each section of hair, gliding once from roots to ends.

I was super excited to try this flat iron, as I had a GHD blow dryer I really loved. At first glance, I didn't have high expectations. This iron didn't wow me at all - no techy features, very light-weight and cheap-feeling. I will say it heats up extremely fast, so that feature did score some points...

11 Years and Counting
This thing might as well be a family heirloom at this point. It was my mom's, but I've more or less commandeered it now that I'm an adult. I think we replaced it once at the very beginning while it was still under warranty, but otherwise, this straightener has lasted us for at least 11 years. Not only that, but I love the straightening power/the smoothness the plates give my coarse textured hair when I flat iron it. I tried out a hair straightner attachment on one of those expensive Shark multi-styler tools, but I just couldn't achieve the same smoothness and texture that I can with the good old GHD. We used to live abroad as well, so another advantage of this straightener is that it's dual voltage, which is helpful if you travel internationally frequently. Only downside is the lack of temperature controls, but still, it works great.
I love this!
I had a chi for a long time and the power prongs started smoking when plugged in and broke off into my outlet. I needed a new straightener and just bought this one based on reviews. I love it!! 10x better than a CHI. It heats up more and makes my hair super sleek and shiny. Takes less time to style. I guess I didn't realize how bad the CHI was until I bought this. If you're looking for a straightener that is efficient in styling and makes your hair sleek and shiny, this is the one.
Malfunctioned too soon
I was disappointed that such an expensive product malfunctioned so soon. Unfortunately, it was a couple of months after the warranty.
Broke after a year

It worked very well but broke after a year. Now, looking at other reviews, it looks like that seems common for this brand. If you're going to spend the money, I would say go with another brand that is likely to last longer.
Not worth the money
I bought this flat iron last year, I saw a lot of people liked it and I was hoping it would last me a long while (my Chi straightener that I replaced lasted me like 7 years). Now, a year or so later, it doesn't work.
