On my first use I noticed the iron makes a steaming, or slight sizzling sound; it does this when idle and when using. Is this normal or is mine defective? Otherwise seems to work good.

The sound that you hear is actually the ion generator, which emits millions of negative ions to help combat frizz. Was this answer helpful to you

Hello! You just answered my question about the dual voltage, thank you! I got my mom this straightener in December 2021. The chord is different from mine (thicker and fabric?). Would this one have the dual voltage?
Asked by Juliet

Hello, there is a label inside of the handle, please look for the 120/240AC rating. If this is there, then it is dual voltage. Thank you.Was this answer helpful to you
Q
When did Babyliss start making this straightener dual voltage? I got mine back in 2020 and want to bring it to Italy with me but am seeing it use to not be dual voltage. Thank you!
Asked by Juliet
Official Answer By BaBylissPRO - BE - Disabled
Hello, because you purchased your Prima back in 2020, it most likely did NOT have Dual Voltage integrated as of yet. I would air on the side of caution, and not risk damaging your unit by bringing it. Thank you.Was this answer helpful to you

Q
Whats the best size to purchase I have medium to thick hair I'm a natraul black girl:)
Asked by Pink rain
Official Answer By BaBylissPRO - BE - Disabled
Hello, the size is all about YOUR preference! The only call out on size would be if you're going to use it to curl as well, the 1 1/4 inch iron will provide a larger curl pattern (if you choose to use it to curl your hair). It really comes down to what you prefer. Thank you.Was this answer helpful to you

DO NOT BUY

I bought this and used it with no issues for 6 months. Then last week it FRIED my hair. My long hair is DONE and still, after washing, smells burnt. Then when I went to turn it back on to try it on a lower setting, it wouldn't heat up. I think the heating coil got overly hot the last time I did my h...

Not worth it

I bought this on sale thankfully! When i got it i was disappointed. From the packaging to the tool itself. Firstly, the package came bent and squished. For the original amount it cost i would say its not worth it.After opening it i was suprised at how lightweight and cheap it felt. I do like that it takes one streak to get my hair type straight. However the biggest downside is the rubber grips because it pulls hair. Its better to section each piece unless you want your hairs getting pulled each time. Now for the exterior heat plates, they dontheat up as much. For the price i paid or even the original amount i would have gone for a different brand.
