Most Helpful Positive Review How Much HA Can Your Skin Really Hold? Customizing my own "best" personalized skin care regiment is still a work in progress -
I am genuinely thrilled with my HA face wash and HA moisturizer and was also using The Ordinary HA + B5 Serum - but I didn't love the tackiness and it didn't really leave my skin feeling extra (or even adequately) hydrated (on its own). I just started to question whether that much of a great thing was really necessary?!
So: I decided to give this serum a shot in an alternate regiment.
My skin does tend to feel a tad tight after washing. This IS a very light, water based serum that absorbs very quickly and does leave my skin feeling like it's getting an extra little sip of moisture from withing before adding that second layer of HA with my moisturizer. It also seems to boost the duration of how long my skin carries that dewy feeling - particularly on the hot, dry summer days.
I personally feel that it does enhance the humectant effects of the HA - and without the tackiness.
Most Helpful Critical Review Not bad, but not for me I purchased this product through the Deciem website, used it consistently since purchase, and am nearly done with my bottle so I figured I'd share my experience in case it helps someone!
As others have mentioned, the product consistency is very watery, because of that I've found it easiest to apply by mixing with other products (toner, other serums) in my palms and then pressing them into my skin. As with most skincare, it absorbs best when applied after toner. I don't suggest using it in conjunction with other actives, I didn't realize at first that it has active ingredients and it messed my skin up a treat - had to take time off my regular routine to repair my barrier ๐
On evenings that I use retinol or other actives (about once per week) I abstain from including the Marine Hyaluronics in my routine just to be careful.
Ultimately, I've found it doesn't hydrate my skin to the degree I need as my dry zones get dry and chapped about four hours after application. Although those fourish hours make for some nice and glowy skin! It just doesn't penetrate or settle quite the way my skin needs, and may be causing my daytime flaking (tho that could also be my moisturizer, idk for sure). It absorbs pretty quickly, although there's some slight tacky/stickiness on application.
Overall it's a pleasant product, especially for the price point, and likely works well for someone who's just looking for a simple booster underneath their moisturizer. Still on the market for something my desert of a skin will love though lol.

This is great for the extra bump into plumping and hydration! Been using this for over a year. I like to add it into eye masks to help plump my lines. Works great under makeup. I'm the lucky middle aged woman with some aging and super dry skin :(..
works better than the Ordinary HA 5
suncakes from wa
for me. I put it in the palm of my hand since it's as thin as water. after applying i give myself a spritz and my skin is hydrated and plumped. I can forget the moisturizer and can go straight to the skin primer to makeup and feel flowless.
because I do have oily acne prone skin I also find this was more clean than trumella mushroom serum though it is very closs.
Don't like it 2

The HA serum is my all time HG. I USE 5 drops on a wet face, then moisturizer (cerave lotion) on top & my skin feels smooth & plump all day. I used to have dry, flaky, dull skin w dry acne. My skin is now glowy & I get asked what I use. Funny bc I only use affordable skincare.. Anyways. I read this was similar & more lightweight. Now that my skin is balanced, i wanted something for summer or for days I use a vitamin C serum.. I never notice a difference w this. I used half a bottle & just don't like it. Giving away. But it might work for others. Love the brand.
Didn't do anything 1

I used up the whole bottle and I felt like it did absolutely nothing to my skin. It didn't make a difference in my skin hydration at all. Will not purchase and don't recommend.
Have used 2 bottles 5

I am about to purchase my 3rd bottle. I love this as the first thing i put on my face after cleansing as it is very light, water like consistency and absorbs well locking in the hydration. I love it and I will keep it as part of my routine, TO don't stop making this!!!
Great added hydration. 5

This is one constant in my skincare for the last year and will be until they quit making it ๐๐ผ
didn't work for me 2

I liked the overall consistency and feel on my face, but it made me break out. I've been using TO's hyaluronic acid + b5 serum for a long time and never had a problem with it, but the representative at my Ulta store recommended this when layering other serums. It was the only change to my skincare routine and once I stopped using this, the acne went away within 3 days.
Caused breakouts 2

I wanted to love this so much and use it to replace the regular HA which has a stickier consistency and leaves a heavy finish on my face during the summer months, but two summers I've used this and finally determined it as the source of my breakouts. I stopped using my normal daily serum (cosrx propolis) in lieu of this and immediately began to break out, and if I remember correctly the same thing happened last summer before I switched back to the normal HA as it got colder. i have combo/oily skin so just be careful!!
Great lightweight serum for AM and PM 4

This product is an amazing alternative to the more popular hyaluronic acid serum from The Ordinary. It is very lightweight and feels like water on the face; dries quickly and pairs well with other serums such as something with Vitamin C. Remember to apply this product to DAMP skin otherwise it can dry you out (this goes for anything with HA in it). Overall a great product and one I would recommend to anyone. Will be rebuying this product for the foreseeable future!

Light weight 5

This has the consistency of water, which I'm in love with! I put this on first, then add my eye/face cream on top of it. Most other products are sticky, thick serums that are too heavy and make it difficult to add more than one on at a time. But not this one, it's perfect for layering, for those of us that need to layer.
Broke me out :( 1

This is a nice light serum that I planned on using in the morning before my sunscreen but it broke me out.
So good 5

I love using this when I don't want to use hyaluronic acid since it's so thick & tends to pill. Hydrated just as well especially if you're using it under makeup, just plumps & hydrates your skin like HA but as a thin formula.
Adore this 5

I use this product after washing my face while it is still wet, and then I pat it in until my skin is almost dry, after my skin is dry I follow up with my retinol (The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion), and then top the retinol with COSRX's Hyaluronic Acid Cream. My skin has never looked better. This product keeps my retinol from causing flakes, and overall has been a lovely addition to my skincare. I love that it is lightweight enough for me to layer with my hyaluronic cream, so I can create that gentle sandwiching for my retinol without getting my face overly greasy. Between the three of these products, I've seen a major reduction in my adult acne, my pores are less noticeable, I have a healthy glow, and my laugh lines and crows feet are gone.
About my skin: 30 YO, Acne-proned skin showing signs of aging (hints of crows feet, horrible laugh lines, and deep forehead wrinkles,) oily t-zone with large pores on nose and cheeks, balanced skin everywhere else.

I don't use this often but when I do I can see the changes. Sometimes I use this after my daily cleansing routine. The only thing is that sometimes I feel like a filmy layer on my face, so I use this less often as the other Ordinary products.

So, I used this for month and have consistently used all of Drunk Elephants full routine for over a year. I stopped using this for two months after running out and saw a huge difference in absorption of serums. Get the most of your expensive serums.
Excellent hydrating layer 5
Leona from CA, US
I have mildly dehydrated skin, and while I like the idea of hyaluronic acid serums, they all tend to pill and not fully absorb. I found this to be a lovely little alternative because it can still bring that hydrating feeling to the skin but it's watery and quickly gets absorbed. Perfect for adding hydration without adding any weight. When I apply this, I use it as a toner, after exfoliating, just patting it in with fingertips. Will be repurchasing.
not great 1

I was super excited to try this because my skin is very dry and extremely sensitive but it only made my acne worse. I'm still on the lookout for good products that can help my dry/ sensitive skin. I had to apply many layers because it's very thin and it only made me breakout. I do not recommend for dry/ sensitive skin!
Absolutely will buy this again! 5

Instead of blowing big bucks on expensive primer, I've been using the Marine HA instead of the "regular " HA, because the regular would flake up on my skin, which was annoying. As I use my NuFace or Sola Wand, I keep the Marine HA "fresh & moist" by spraying Mario Badescu facial spray w/aloe, herbs & rosewater. No flaking, & my face is soft & less wrinkley!
Instant skin quenching effects 5
Cara from Ny
I do wish it came w a spray bottle but I'm ok with the sloppy application. Only have used it for 2 weeks but the hydration effects are excellent. My skin says thank you. It hasn't caused any irritation or breakouts, fingers crossed and the price point is something I truly appreciate. The ordinary is a gem.
I would never buy this product again. 1

It sucked, I got it for my mother and I and it burned our faces. Totally over hyped.
Fantastic 5

Great for a multi step routine. Works as it should without all the fuss of a department store brand.
Terrible product 3

Burns, watery, sticky. Took a week for the breakouts it caused to clear. Gave it to someone else to try, being I have sensitive skin. Same issues for them as well. Trashed it...
Must have 5

So amazing! Hydrates soooo well and doesn't leave the sticky feel of typical hyaluronic serums. It's a must have for every area that needs hydration. I even use it on elbows, knees and feet to keep them supple. Heavy anti-aging ingredient user and this keeps my skin from drying out. Doesn't leave the t-zone oily either. Perfection!!
just like water! 5

the consistency is just like water but better. so nice and is good in the morning bc it's light weight. will def be purchasing again
