Not the Best for Wavy Hair

Mielle has gained significant popularity (especially on TikTok), but I've never been one to jump on trends—particularly when it comes to hair products. As I grow older, I'm focusing on preserving the health of my hair. I used to have incredibly thick, voluminous hair, but after a bad experience with... another brand that caused me to lose a third of my hair, I've become much more cautious. Now, I carefully evaluate product ingredients, intended purposes, and reviews before forming an opinion. Currently, I have 2b hair (it used to be 2c, but it's changed over the past year, possibly due to its longer length). Unfortunately, I don't think this product is best suited for my hair type. I tested it on a family member with 3a curls, and it seemed to work better for her than for me. While it does provide a nice hold and aids with curl formation, the slight weight of the product left my curls looking less defined. That said, this product excels at taming frizz and adding moisture. For reference, I have low-porosity hair, and while the product helped with frizz control and provided good hold, it mostly sat on the surface rather than absorbing into my hair. On a positive note, it didn't leave any sticky residue behind, which I appreciated. The packaging, however, could use improvement. While the design allows for easy squeezing, I found it a bit too flimsy. A sturdier design or a more ergonomic opening would have been preferable, as the current packaging feels somewhat unstable. For all the reasons above, I rate this a 3/5. I received this complimentary for my honest feedback.
