- Official Answer By Joico - Brand EngageHi Anna! Thank you for your question! The K-PAK Reconstructor is not a bond-building product. It addresses protein. Joico uses all 19 amino acids in the correct order and at the proper weight and size to go into the hair to reconstruct from the inside out. If the hair does not need a specific amino acid, the hair will not accept it. The amino acids fit like puzzle pieces in the hair. There is no possibility of over proteinization or over keratinization with any Joico product. The K-PAK Reconstructor is best used after shampooing with K-PAK Reconstructing Shampoo. It is also recommended to follow the K-PAK Reconstructor with the K-PAK Intense Hydrator Treatment for 5 minutes. For best results, it is recommended to use the K-PAK Reconstructor 1x a week. Can this be used to fix hair that is too soft? I have very fine flat hair and recently it's been so flat and almost too soft after trying multiple different shampoos to try to add body. Now it's just a limp flat mess. I read that protein treatment is what is needed for too soft hair, is this that kind of protein treatment?

We would recommend to try the K-PAK Clarifying Shampoo once, to help eliminate some of the previously used products on your hair. Then use the JoiFull Volumizing Conditioner. For your regular routine, we would recommend the JoiFull Volumizing Shampoo, Conditioner, and Volumizing Styler. If you would like to add styling products, we would recommend the Rise Up Powder Spray and the Body Shake Texturizing Finisher which are excellent for creating volume with styling. Hair Type Wavy Hair
My hair is thin and I don't have a lot. I have a body wave added for volume and it is color treated. I have four different Joico conditioners, and I alternate using them. The Reconstructing Conditioner is by far my favorite. I use it once a week. It doesn't weigh down my hair at all, and gives it such a healthy texture and look. I'm so glad I finally found the perfect combination for my hair in Joico products.

This has been a staple of mine for decades. Ive spent mega $$$ thinking newer must mean better. While this is not trendy or overhyped on tiktok, there's nothing like this out there. Stakes claim to the old adage - they don't make 'em like they use to! But Joico does - Probably why they're still around. It's texture snd smell are unique these days - but all of the classic true keratin treatments were like this. It works wonders for taming frizz - An at home Brazilian blowout!
