I needed some new sheers for trimming my sons hair. Plus, we are always missing our fine toothed combs when I need them, so the package together was great. I will also personally get some use out of the clips for when coloring my own hair, but haven't yet. Also, my kit included a cape, I don't know the technical name... But the one stylists drape over you and snap around your neck. Anyway, I was excited to use that with my children as well, but it is made for an adults sized neck which I was bummed about after the fact, but it was an extra and not the reason I purchased the kit. It also is just made out of plastic, so I don't expect it to last too long.
The price should have told me this would not hold up to more than 1 hair cut. One of the clips broke after the second section of hair. The scissors are stiff and need major adjusting. The comb snagged hair, so I used my own. Not a great kit if most of the items are unusable.

Make sure you get the cape snug around your neck and you'll stay pretty dry. I also used the cape for my makeup to protect my clothes. It's not long but it's wide enough. I'm thinking if you have thick hair you will need more than the 2 clips provided. For me they were enough.

I thought the price of this kit was too good to be true, and it was. The cape was nice so it gets one star. The clips didn't hold any of my hair, the comb was flimsy, and the scissors were dull and actually pulled my hair versus cutting it. I would not recommend this to anyone as it made at-home haircutting miserable.

This comes with a capelette (doesn't cover but half of your torso), a regular comb, 2 clips which don't hold dry hair and slide right off, and scissors, which were sharp and worked perfectly. Use your own clips. Worth the price, especially if you're going nuts about split ends or you don't want to grow out your bangs while waiting for your hairdresser to see you.

The price is amazing for what you get. The scissors work like a charm and I love that it comes with a comb, clips and a cape. Seriously, though, the scissors are sharp. Lol. Will definitely buy again!

Great gift!

Bought this to do quick haircuts for my kids. After using an Ulta coupon, I got this set with shears, comb, cape, and 2 clips for about the same cost of buying a cape alone elsewhere. Quality is decent. Good value for the price.

Great for a first kit for learning stylists. scissors work well and cut smoothly. cape smells strongly of plastic but will get better over time.

DIY home color, this is a fabulous kit. The cape & clips are the "extra" hand. No worrisome towel to keep holding.

Got this to cut my 95 year old Mother in Law's hair. So nice to have the cape and clips along with really good shears. Great value too!

I liked the price: extras included with the scissors make me feel I got a good deal.

I actually bought this to use to cut my poodles hair. I needed something that did not cost a fortune but cut well because my puppies aren't exactly still so I need to be quick and accurate.

Great to use between going to the stylist for hair cut.
