- Q
The description says it's tinted spf cream but a recent reviewer says it's white. Does it change color when applied, or stay white?
- Asked by LA
- Official Answer By Origins US ENGreat question! What you’re seeing in the photo is exactly how it behaves - the formula comes out as an off-white cream, then transforms as you blend it in into a sheer, skin-like tint. So while it may look white at first (which can be due to SPF ingredients like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide that naturally appear white ), it doesn’t stay that way - the tint activates and adapts once applied, giving a natural, even-toned finish rather than a white cast. Hope that helps clarify! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
The Ginzing spf 40 energy-boosting tinted moisturizer has Octinoxate 7.5%, Octisalate 2.0%, Octocrylene 2.0%, Titanium Dioxide 3.0%, Zinc Oxide 3.0% are listed as ingredients. Only zinc oxide and titanium oxide are mineral sunscreen, while Octinoxate, Octisalate, and Octocrylene are chemical sunscreen. Isn't Origins an all-natural line of skincare? Why is it using chemical sunscreen?

This is more a statement than a question. I've been using Vita Zing for years, recently started using another product but want to go back to Vita Zing. Very disappointed that it's been discontinued, it's the ONLY Origins product I liked and used. I won't be shopping Origins any more. Bad decision on the part of the company to do away with this long term, popular product.

no makeup - makeup look!
I'm very fair skinned (red tint) and tried a few other "tinted moisturizers" that I hated. I live in Florida and chose this because of the high SPF. I've never worn foundation, as I like to be as natural as possible, And this product is exactly what it says it is. The tint is quite visible on my f...

not what C&C was
I went to an actual Origins store to replace the C&C tinted face cream. Well Origins did it again, discontinued another product that I love. OK to I bought the GinZing as a replacement. It is ok but it is too thick and my face feels oily at the end of the day. the C&C lotion was awesome and did ...

The SPF 15 version of this product was perfection. This one is cakey, settles in pores, has a strong, unpleasant odor, and stings my eyes no end. I end up crying every time I use it. The sunscreen is just too strong and thick. Every Origins product I have ever loved is gone. So much work to find the right products only to have them disappear.

Not a replacement for the spf 15 version

I used the spf 15 version of this product since it first came out, it was my daily holy grail product that made my face look just the right amount of glowy and evened out without being "makeup". I liked that it was weightless, moisturizing and the coverage was sheer enough to not have to be precise with application. I have sensitive skin and I've never had a tint or bb cream or anything feel so good on my skin. This spf 40 version? Nope. Hate it. It gives me a greasy pallor and is too heavy on my skin. Instead of glowy it gives wax statue. I wish they would bring back the old spf 15 version. I've tried actually dozens of different tinted moisturizers since they discontinued it (and I ran out of the stash I bought up and stored in my fridge as soon as I found out!) and I haven't liked anything. I wear spf separately on my face I don't need it in my makeup making it terrible.

I don't like it. After washing your face, it feels like you still need to rinse because it feels like there's still product left on your skin. Besides that, it doesn't clean completely — it doesn't fully remove tinted sunscreen.
Great product, shipping isn't the same

I buy this all the time, it's great. It keeps me from burning all day even with just one application. My issue is the packaging. They used to send everything wrapped in tissue in a box. I got this in an envelope and the box was crushed. Since I'm using it for myself, it's ok. If I had bought this for a gift I'd send it back. Even though is doesn't effect the product, it looks used and I'd never want to give that to anyone. Origins used to be so much better, but like lots of companies they are cutting corners
