Back in college, I just kept a jar of corn starch in my bathroom for dry shampoo. It was cheap, which was nice, but hard to apply and tended to sprinkle everywhere on its way to my head. Lately, I've been following the curly girl method (2b/c waves) and getting back to clean ingredients in my hair products. I don't want all the drying alcohols, etc. that are in most other dry shampoos. I was glad that I recognized all of the ingredients on this label. It reminds me of my old corn starch days, but the applicator pump is so easy. I just pump it directly at my roots and then rub it in. Works pretty well. And honestly, since switching to the curly girl method, my hair doesn't get as oily at the roots so I can use less of this than I did of the old propellant dry shampoos I used to buy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]For longer hair, I think this would be best use to create a piecey, messy look. That's basically all I was able to do. It doesn't add any shine, which is disappointing considering it's one of the claimed effects. I can't say too much about its frizz-reducing capabilities as I don't have any (I tried to simulate it by taking a steamy shower without washing my hair, but whatever conditioner I used last must have magic powers or something), but I could see it working for that with some tweaking of the directions. If you were to take a TINY amount, add a little water, rub your hands together and then lightly go through your hair with it, it seems like it would help with frizz and flyaways. I'd say the hold of this is a bit stronger than light hold, as it's one of the few pomade-like products I've used that has kept my hair out of my face for more than two minutes. However, the texture it leaves in your hair is worse than competing products in my opinion. It feels kind of matted, almost like you have thick honey in your hair, but it also feels a little dry. Obviously styling products are going to be sticky, but this one lacks the cosmetic elegance others in this price range and up have. A little bit of this definitely goes a long way. Impressively so. I did a pea sized amount from halfway down to my tips, messed around a bit, then did half a pea's worth with some water to get the top half of my hair. That was enough to get the outer layer of my hair entirely. My hair is quite thick, but after a day or two of not washing it gets flat (see before picture). I was surprised to see how much volume I was able to give myself with this simply by scrunching my hair a bit. Obviously it goes down a bit, but the hold is strong enough to perk up flat hair if you don't go overboard (may be different for people with thin or very fine hair). By the end of the day, it still held some hold, and I could still scrunch my hair or shake my head to get some extra volume for a short while. The feeling it leaves isn't great though. My hair feels drier and coarser than it does naturally. With similar products I've used, I could sleep with it in my hair and then just reconstitute it in the morning with a bit of water to get a decent, lighter hold style going on. I had to wash my hair after using this, and I wouldn't want to leave it in my hair over night.

The sprayer is AWFUL. One second it gets clogged and the next it spews so much product it coated my floor and clothing. I can't even attest to how good the product itself is because I can't manage to get the right amount even near my hair.

White cast left on dark hair, doesn't make ANY difference for oily hair. Gets everywhere and won't come off shirt. Literally didn't even add volume or texture. Waste of money.

LOVE this oil absorbing hair powder! Used to use baby powder, until I discovered this. My roots get oily over night and I can never go a day without freshly washing my hair. This lets me skip a day if needed. My hair is very fine and this gives a bit of lift to my roots as well. Really like the results of this product! Unscented too!

this is so bad. it doesn't do anything but build up and knot up my hair. multiple day use is NOT a thing with this product. I wanted so bad to like this from multiple reviews on tik tok. my hair is still so greasy

This dry shampoo is fine. It does the job. It's straight up powder tho so it's gonna leave a white cast. Being that it's a powder it doesn't do great for multiple day use, it just piles up and becomes more noticeable than aerosols I've used over more than one day. It's a pump so it also makes it less conscientious to use. Gets the job done, just not the best overall.

I can't stand dry shampoo that has fragrance because it normally clashes with my perfume so this is perfect. Best way to apply is to dispense into hands and evenly massage it onto scalp.

This cant be used like a normal spray if you try to do that its gona be a mess. Pump some into your hand and use an old makeup brush and brush onto roots. Once your done brush through, I have dark brown hair and like using it at night to insure you cant see it. But if you need to use it during the day brush through well and then blow dry if you still see it.

I was looking for a dry shampoo to use on my bangs that didn't come in a spray bottle (with propane, isobutane, etc. as ingredients - I started to suspect that they weren't great to put near my oily, acne-prone skin!). This product works pretty well in absorbing oil. I dispense the powder using the pump into my palm, dust some on my bangs near the roots, pat the rest on the ends of my bangs, and finger-comb through. It takes longer to apply than a regular dry shampoo and maybe doesn't last all day like my old dry shampoo, but I still like it.

It's effective, and it's convenient and it's nice that it's unfragranced. I prefer to smell like my perfume rather than my dry shampoo. The packaging isn't great because it tends to dispense too much in one spot so I have a challenging time working it through my hair . I get white spots on my dark hair that I then have to go over with root touch up spray just to cover the dry shampoo even though I have no roots to cover! So, you see the challenges here. It works but it's not an easy to work with product. It's futzy.

Now here's the trick, I use it at night because I do feel like I have to use more than an aerosol dry shampoo and it is white so I like to make sure there isn't any white cast because sometimes I can be heavy handed with the powder. I have super sensitive skin and acne prone skin when it comes to fragrances. This leaving it in my hair I've never had to worry about the sides of my face breaking out or anything. I also hate the feeling of having a film like feeling on my hair and this doesn't give me THAT feeling, although i wouldn't say this doesn't have a film itself just nothing that would bother me. For example the end of the day I comb my fingers through my hair and I do kind of feel like the powder is still there. Again, I don't mind it though because it doesn't feel weird and it might be because I use more but at the same time I feel like if I use less then I don't get as good of an "oil absorbed" feel. Def like that it's a powder form as well. I will repurchase!

I had to use quite a bit of it to see results. I loved the application and texture (it didn't feel as gritty as the canned spray and it wasn't visible after brushing) but I found after just a few hours, my hair looked greasy. The popular aerosol brand can buy me an extra day without washing my hair every time I use it, but this product couldn't. I also found that I had to add the powder to absolutely every bit of my scalp, I couldn't just spray the worst bits and brush it through. I'd only recommend this if you really care about the environment and your hair doesn't get too greasy when it hasn't been washed in a day--maybe if you have thick or curly hair.

I LOVE this stuff. It is the best dry shampoo I've ever tried. I have hair that is VERY oily and most aerosols are just eh but this stuff is SOOO good. It absorbs oil instantly and leave hair feeling so soft and no heavy feeling. My only negative is it leaves a pretty hefty white cast

I've had really bad luck with dry shampoos. I have thick curly hair with oily roots and dry ends. Most spray dry shampoos almost made my hair feel worse than before. But this actually works to absorb the oils at my scalp, doesn't leave a residue, and no heavy chemical fragrance. Definitely a new favorite!

Didn't work in comparison to the spray dry shampoos I've used prior. I ended up returning it. It did nothing.

This is my go to dry shampoo now. The powder comes out easily and doesn't make my dark hair look ashy. So easy to travel with. I love it!!
Melissa E from Washington
This is hands down the best dry shampoo I've ever tried! It's a fine powder mist that soaks up any oils on your hair. There is little fragrance and doesn't leave your hair gummed up feeling. If anything it makes your hair feel lighter and gives lift and texture. I have tried so many other dry shampoos and with never go back to a spray after trying this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]I absolutely love Kristin Ess Fragrance Free Soft Shine Grooming Cream. I have very frizzy hair and its curly wavy so it pretty much frizzes up more and more throughout the day. I used it after my hair air dried and just used a small amount and simply put it in my hair. It immediately tamed this mane. Lasted for 2 days frizz free. Kept the natural shine. The packaging is simple and way to open and use. It is fragrance free which is a plus. I would recommend this product to friends and family, especially if they have the same issues i do.
