How To Use

To open the product, remove the cap and insert the opposite side of the cap into the foil. Push down on the cap and twist until the foil is punctured.

Use once daily. Clean the skin gently and pat dry before applying product. Cover the entire affected area with a thin layer. For example, if your acne is on the face, apply the product to the entire face. Do not use more than one time a day. Applying more than directed will not provide faster or better results, but may worsen skin irritation. During the early weeks of use, your acne may appear to worsen before it improves (this is normal); continue use as directed, unless you get irritation that becomes severe. Irritation is more likely to occur in the first few weeks of use or if using more than one topical acne medication at a time but irritation usually lessens with continued use of this product. Applying more than directed will not provide faster or better results. It may take up to 3 months of once daily use to see results. For further instructions, refer to the Drug Facts on the packaging.

Precautions: Suitable for children 12 years and up. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a doctor before use.

Q&A

Q: What products do dermatologists recommend for acne?

A: The American Academy of Dermatology & American Academy of Pediatrics recommend topical retinoids and benzoyl peroxide in the treatment of mild to severe acne. La Roche-Posay offers both a retinoid and benzoyl peroxide treatment with cosmetic elegance available over-the-counter.

Q: How do I help control my oily skin?

A: Dermatologists recommend appropriately cleansing your face twice daily to remove oily residue and grease as an essential first step in reducing excess oil. Adding a retinoid to your routine at bedtime can help control excess oil on the skin.

Q: What’s La Roche-Posay’s best regimen for acne prone skin?

A: For a full acne regimen we recommend using our award winning Effaclar Acne Treatment System, which is a 3-step acne kit with a Medicated Gel Cleanser, a Clarifying Solution both with Salicylic Acid and skin care ingredients such as Lipo-Hydroxy Acid and Glycolic Acid. It also contains Effaclar Duo Acne Treatment with Micronized Benzoyl Peroxide and Lipo-Hydroxy Acid.

Why La Roche-Posay?

Recommended by 100,000 dermatologists worldwide, La Roche-Posay offers unique daily skincare developed using a strict formulation charter and stringent clinical testing for efficacy and safety, even on sensitive skin.

Kind of works

I bought this product because I have acne scars that kind of just popped up one day, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out where they came from, as I have clear skin. So I decided to try this brand because of how much dermatologists praise it. I did some research and I ended up with the Effac...

I got this to potentially help with some mild breakouts from having oily skin. And also to clear up some of my rosacea. Wellll don't get this. I used it for 3 days and now if I wash my skin, put any of my makeup on or even my normal face moisturizer, my skin burns. I've discontinued use. But now I'm wondering how long it will be before my face is back to normal.

Good Serum and Effective

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I really liked this serum. It is unscented which I really liked, as I think scented serum, unless it's like a fruit serum, don't really work. It also worked really well in removing my blemishes and preventing more blackheads from forming on my nose. I also really liked how easy it was to squeeze product out of the tube into a good size.

Dried out my skin and didn't clear acne

I bought this hoping it would replace the spot treatment they discontinued but it has left my face so dry and itchy and hasn't cleared up my acne at all so I will be looking for a completely new product.
