Using the darker contour shades, apply color in areas where you wish to achieve a slimming effect; such as along the sides and beneath the tip of the nose, in the hollow of the cheeks, along the jawline, and along the hairline on the sides of your forehead. Use the matte brightening shade to add light, lift, and create defined angles on the top of the nose, chin, and center of the forehead. Use the highlighting shade on the top of the cheekbones, below the brow bone, on the cupid's bow, and on the temples for an illuminating glow.

Great neutral shades
This fall, I purchased Elf Cosmetics's Contour Palette from Ulta Beauty since the one I got from my local Acme store had broken up contour shades this summer. I really love the color palette of colors, perfect from light to dark and everything in between for medium. This palette really changes up your color scheme for experimenting beginners like me to apply contour. I don't do it on the regularly, but only when I need it. Perfect to carry with you on the go.
Not great
Wasn't a fan and ended up decluttering it from my collection. The color story doesn't really make sense: The bronzers are very warm and pull orange. With how deep the bronzers are, it doesn't make sense to add a super pale, icy champagne as the highlighter shade. The contours are choppy and the pigment skips on the skin when applied, and the highlighter barely showed up. The only color I used up was the "banana" powder.
