Poor toner . . . worst I've used. It is a great conditioner but no toning at all. This is a shock to me as I love Overtone coloring products. I can't figure out why they got the toner so wrong. It needs to be a dark purple to really work. I've been fighting blonde yellowing my entire life and u...

I am a senior with about 50% gray but still with with quite a bit of light ash brown hair, which was unflatteringly steely for me. So recently I began having it highlighted, basically trying to add more white. However, that virgin hair takes forever to lighten up to white and ends up pale yellow. So I have to use a regular conditioner on the front of my hair where all the white is, then use the Blue Toning Conditioner on the parts where it's more yellowish. My ultimate goal is to get it to an allover beige/champagne tone, and this product works very well! FYI, I've tried many, many violet/purple conditioners over the years and this brand's purples are more toward the blue side, which I find preferable to those more on the violet/red side, as I find the blue creates more of a beigy/champagne tone than does the violet. The dark violet toner from Overtone is on the bluer side also, but it is a bit strong on my hair - it'll look too grayed down if I use it straight - so I will mix it with regular conditioner and that's fine also. Took a recent photo and I think it looks great, very happy.

Good conditioner. A little bit does it without leaving my fine hair weighed down.
