Most Helpful Positive Review So glad I found this!!!
I just use this on my thick wavy frizzy hair and I love the curls it gave me. My hair is curly/frizzy in the summer and indecisive waves in the winter that go frizzy and flat so I always end up straightening it in the colder months. This gave my curl definition and made my hair look healthy and fun! I did use a little gel for better hold. If you are on the fence, go buy it and try it a couple of times with the right amount for your hair. I do imagine that it could weigh thin hair down a bit, but if you have frizzy thicker hair or waves or curly hair then you will love it! I will update in the humid summer months.

Something must have changed in the formula I remember buying this a few years back and it had left my hair manageable, but nowadays all it does is leave my hair very greasy.

I have 3a curls and I got this because I read it was good for the frizz. Well, my hair isn't frizzy, but it's super greasy? I went to the gym and literally left grease marks on the bench. Embarrassing. Also, this product is so thick you can't get it out of the bottle without removing the cap. I had to water it down a little just to think out the consistency.
Great for 2b hair!

I have very thick, very wavy, and also quite fine hair. I've been searching for years to find the right products for my hair. I love my waves but couldn't get the combination right.
I used my normal shampoo/conditioner routine (in my case Living Proof Restore), then the Living Proof detangling spray, and then I used this stuff, following the instructions on the container.
I "plopped" my hair using a 100% cotton tshirt for about 15-20 minutes. After air drying, I just finger comb. It's not crunchy, my hair is shiny! Could not be happier!

I have 3a curls and this did wonders on my hair. I don't use this as a leave in conditioner, but I use this as a curl cream. This product is very thick and it doesn't weigh down my curls. This smell is very strong but it smells soooo good.

So, I have 3c curls and it's super hard for me to keep my curl pattern (low porosity hair here) and it worked when I did it for the first time when my hair was damaged, now that my hair is healthy, it doesn't define my curls, it takes them out and leaves white residue in there. Scrunching does not help. It's a no from me

I wanted to get on board with the hype. I hoped it was a tried and true as everyone made it out to be. & now believe me I know what might work for one doesn't mean it will work for someone else. long story short it dried my scalp out. :( mind you I only wash my hair every 1-2x a week. but when it's says moisturizing?!? how does it dry me out? I gave it 2 stars bc it has a decent smell and lathers well.

My kids and U all use this and it helps with the frizz and the curl pattern. Highly recommend.

If you have thick curly hair this for you it helps your hair grow and silky and soft and it's also vegan
It's alright, does the job

I have wavy/frizzy hair, and it seemed like this would be good for both. It does a good job of defining curls and keeping frizz at bay, but it does leave a cast, so you would have to scrunch your hair after it dries. I usually only wash my hair 3 times a week, so I left it alone for the next day. I woke up and my hair just looks greasy. Not at the roots (cause I didn't apply product there) but on the mid-shaft and ends. It's not recommended to wash curly hair everyday, but it looks like my hair hasn't been washed in a week. If you wash your hair everyday, I think this is a great product. But I personally won't be buying this again.
At first I thought I wouldn't work but it actually did

I don't recommend it using just this by itself but yes with others products.
Not for me
Alexia from Ohio
It was too heavy for my hair. I have 2B/3A and it weighed down my curls. I prefer the curl milk.

I have spent so much money on products that claim to help decrease frizz. The state i live in has horrible humidity and this product was a miracle product. It enhanced my curls and i had virtually no frizz. I have 3a hair and this product is amazing!

Although Shea's website recomends the Daily Hydration shampoo for my curl type, my hair prefers the extra moisture from the Curl and Shine shampoo.
Lily from Oklahoma
I love this product, makes my 2a-3a curls so soft and pretty! It doesn't make my hair oily, or make it feel like I put product in it. Would recommend!

Lathers up with very little soap
Moisturizing but a little goes a long way
Brittany from NC
This is super moisturizing which I love, but I can only use a small amount. I have 2b-3a waves/curls and if I use too much I'm weighed down and mostly wavy. If I use a small amount I get more of my 3a pattern. If you're in the wavy side, you can use it but only a small amount.
Love the smooth

I was so happy to find this product because after having a baby my hair is really dry. This has been wonderful because it is helping while I grow out my hair to have more oil on my hair.

I have could have 2a thru 3c curls depending on the product. I have yet to find one that I truly love. I bought this because a coworker used it and her hair looks good. It definitely curls my hair gives me the wet look I like but still have flyaways/frizz. I don't like to wash hair everyday but when I use this I do because it feels gross.
I love it!

I have 3B hair and I love this product! It smells like coconut and it doesn't leave a crunch feeling in my hair like some other gels and mousses do. I would recommend :)
Smells like clorox
Madi from Riverside CA
Smells like clorox when i first opened it, decided to still use it and all it did was make my hair less curly.
Left my hair very greasy and dirty feeling/smelling
Alana from Chicago, IL
I bought the shampoo and conditioner bc I love the curl smoothie for my 2b/3b curls. But the shampoo is just way too heavy/greasy for me since I have thinner hair. This is definitely better suited for those with really thick/coarse hair.
Great for natural hair
Dani from Dallas, TX
I use this product in conjunction with a leave in conditioner and gel and it is fantastic!
Not for Fine 2C 3A Curly Hair
Fine 2c, 3a Curly Girl from Ca
I hate to leave a bad review but I want to warn anyone with fine curly hair. I have been following the curly girl method for over 6 months now and was looking for products to replace my Deva Curl Products because I was having pretty bad issue with them. This line had some great reviews so I wanted to see what all the hype was about, plus its way less expensive. But after using the first time it completely ruined my curl pattern and made my hair extremely frizzy. The first day after a wash it did not hold a curl at all. It smells great and my hair was super soft but it does not work for me.

Leaves hair soft. Not too heavy.
