I bought this face oil because I wanted to try a face oil for the first time after hearing good things, and this seemed like a good option. it's listed online as Blue Orchid Hydrating Face Treatment Oil for Dry Skin, which does not make it obvious that it's part of Clarins' Aroma line or that the fragrance is extremely strong. Unfortunately, the scent is completely overpowering — very cologne-like and surprisingly masculine. Even opening the bottle or spilling a single drop makes the entire room smell strong for a long time. I received two sample oils (including the one I originally wanted, which was sold out), and both were far better in fragrance and actually usable. In comparison, the full-size bottle I purchased is basically unusable due to the smell. If you're sensitive to fragrance, I would avoid this. The heavy scent should be made much clearer in the online listing and I wish there were

This is my second bottle. It was recommended to me by a Clarins staff at Macys. I was quite reluctant bc having mixed complexion I thought it would make it more oily. But she explained to me how she recommends it. Use it at night as the only product after toner (no doble serum that night) 2-3 times a week. I tried and just love the way my skin looks the next day. I end up using it every other night. My skin is mixed but turning drier all over due to age (48). This product moisturize and nurture just what's needed.
