The warm is patchy but translucent is good

By Yeahyeah

from North Carolina

Comments about Dermablend Loose Setting Powder:

I've tried the translucent and the warm and I much prefer the translucent. The warm is a little orange and very patchy and difficult to blend. The translucent blends much better. It does come with a lot of powder for the price.

    White cast

    By Bianca

    from Texas

Comments about Dermablend Loose Setting Powder:

I really wanted to love this for my under eyes but nooo it clings and leaves a white cast. I've tried applying it with a brush and a beauty blender which is my holy grail for everything but it just doesn't seem to set nicely.. my L'Oréal fit me loose powder does a way better job!!

Comments about Dermablend Loose Setting Powder:

I suppose if you like baking this would be better for you. I have dry skin and don't like a ton of powder. This tends to stick to my dry patches and sometimes applies unevenly. It does make the skin matte. It's good--just not great.

          A:

Hi there! The Loose Setting Powder is offered in 3 shades, original, cool beige, and warm saffron that is formulated to help set the makeup and prevent smudging for up to 16 hours. To add a hint of color to your foundation we suggest the cool beige. If you do not want any additional color, we suggest to opt for the original shade. After you apply your foundation and it has dried, apply generous amounts of the powder, allow to set and brush off the excess!

I am in my 60s and do have some lines. Will this cake in the lines and accentuate like some powders? I use Smashbox Photo Finish Primer followed by either Jane Iredale Glow Time or Smashbox Studio Skin 15 hour wear foundation.

Hi there! The Loose Setting Powder is formulated to ensure the makeup stays in place and prevents smudging for up to 16 hours. After applying the foundation, apply generous amounts of the powder, allow to set for a few minutes, and brush off the excess. This powder should not settle into any fine lines or look cakey on the skin.

Hi there! The Loose Setting Powder is formulated to set makeup and prevent smudging for up to 16 hours. We recommend using this powder after you have applied your foundation. We suggest if you prefer a powder, to look at Dermablend's Intense Powder Camo that is a sheer to full coverage powder foundation and provides a matte finish. We hope this helps!

      • Q:

What is this "baking technique " people are referring too? Also, flashback please?
Asked on 4/4/2018 by Hildy from US

        1 answer

        • Brand Expert

          A:

Hi there! The Baking Technique refers to applying generous amounts of setting powder like Dermablend's Loose Setting Powder in original, and applying to the face and allowing to set for 10-30 minutes. This causes the heat in your skin to set your makeup leaving a flawless finish. The Loose Setting Powder should not cause flashback when applied. We hope this is helpful!
