Most Helpful Positive Review Stone is back?!?!?! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I came on the site today to reorder a lipstick that had run low, and decided to check my "Favorites" list to see if there was anything there that I needed. And lo and behold an old friend reappeared - Stone lip pencil. I thought I must be seeing things. But no, it's there. And it's not marked as a limited edition.
Since it was discontinued several years ago, I've searched high and low for a replacement. But nothing was ever quite right. For the last year I had to use an EYE LINER to try and copy the color. Yes, an eye liner. I became desperate.
This was the perfect color for me to line my lips. It magically seemed to make my lips seem fuller (probably since it seems to almost mimics a very light shadow - thus giving the allusion of fuller lips). It also tones down brighter shades and turns pinks and nudes into colors that seem natural, healthy and beautiful. Some people may be turned off because it is described as grey muted taupe. But it is a truly natural looking color. Just not as yellow or orange as most "natural" or "beige" liners tend to be.
I ordered the maximum number that I was allowed with the largest smile on my face. PLEASE, PLEASE NEVER DISCONTINUE THIS AGAIN.
Most Helpful Critical Review PRODUCT HAS CHANGED
I've been buying the MAC lip pencil in Stripdown for over ten years. It's the only product I use to line and fill in my lips. The color closely matches my natural lip color and every pencil I've purchased through the years has never varied in color or consistency, its always been exactly the same. I just received an order of two Stripdown lip pencils and something has definitely changed. The color is different. It's more of a matte light brown and the consistency is awful. It's soft not firm. It's more like a lipstick consistency. I can't use it to line my lips because it smudges, is messy and the tip breaks off with very minimal pressure. Both lip pencils I received are this same new product.
Did I just get a bad batch or has my favorite color lip pencil really changed? I'm so disappointed.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Perfect with Yash color!

I love the color, very neutral. I use it as a lipstick. I first apply a lip primer and then the lip pencil.

I love this color I've gone through 4 lip pencils in the last year. It suits my skin tone perfectly! Buying another one now

If Lancome's Le Lipstique in Sheer Raspberry and Kevin Aucoin's The Flesh Tone Lip Pencil in Minimal had a beautiful baby and named it MAC Lip Pencil in Whirl.

This was my first time ordering MAC online. I was very disappointed in the color. The color was faint. It looked more nude than plum. It did not glide on my lips like other MAC lip liners I have used. It felt dry on my lips. I would not recommend this color.

It looks like a 5 dollar pencil. It doesn't stay on your lips for so long
Great application and color

The only one I truly trust

I always come back to this. I try to venture out but this one stays and is easily blended. It's like a creamy matte lipstick in a liner. I get dark colors like chestnut and do ombré nudes, and I am pale as all heck. I find the lighter colors aren't great on me but the formula is consistently amazing. Been buying for years

So pretty. Definitely one you need to add to your collection if you enjoy a bright red lip.
Not too impressed

Does seem to bleed outside of lip line, don't think I'll be using this again
Found my perfect match

I first tried Stripdown but it was too yellow on me when I bought it months ago (now that I'm tan it's looking a lot better). I recently purchased Whirl and Spice. Spice was darker than I thought it would be but still pinky brown and very warm, Whirl is a perfect mauve that is a few shades darker than my natural lip color. I love lip liners and usually used bff, have gone through 2 sticks of that shade, but Mac's staying power is hands down the best. I'm happy I found my shade in Whirl, it's the perfect contour for me. Don't give up looking for yours!
To hard, so I have to press really hard.

Hey guys PLEASE fill me in as to why THE MAC LIPLINER IS THE #1 bestselling liner at ulta?! I feel that it is so outdated as the new ones are so creamy and glide on with hardly any effort. Sometimes I have to press so hard to get a MAC lipliner to transfer that it hurts my lips and for almost zero color payoff? So once again I ask, what gives? How is it the bestseller? PASS!!! What am I overlooking here?
Got 2 shades....both are delicious

I am working on using these for my older (and less plump) lips in my senior citizen days. I've had to let my silver hair grow out and needed new colors to make it work. The colors I chose (Soar and Whirl) work with my MAC lipstick very well to create a day and night look with my silver locks. The pencils are smooth and go on easily. They last a decent amount of time and didn't feel either dry or sticky to me (both a plus). I strongly recommend these to anyone who requires a silky pencil that isn't looking for a "teenager look" because they are perfect.

Stripdown was super yellow on me, no matter what I try it doesn't look right. I have a light-medium complexion with neutral undertones. I was so excited to receive this too :( it was also surprisingly light, the staying power and application are great though, just definitely not my shade
Formula that stays put

I enjoy my Mac lip liners. They have a good color selection and it glides on my lips and stays there, even when I drink or eat. No complaints.

Exactly what I need. I don't have to struggle putting.
Perfect color to wear with a pink or red lip.

A MUST HAVE!!!

Unfortunately they changed the ingredients and this pencil Cakes then rolls off leaving skids of empty spots. Looks like a broken line. This product was the best along with the old lip stains. Unfortunately they discontinued this product. I am forced to find a new brand with reliable ingredients. Btw I never post but I am so disappointed and I bought several pencils giving it a chance that it may have been a fluke. Not worth the price and unblendable
I love it!

This is the second lip liner I've ever bought in my life, and the first was from a grocery store. I really wanted a nude color that would generally match my skin tone so I could use it for multiple lipsticks without having to buy several shades of liner. I love this lip liner!! It's beautiful. I didn't take into account that it's a legitimate pencil, so next I'll need to purchase a sharpener. It's a great product.

Used on lips, loved the pigment.
My favorite lip liner

My 3rd time buying this lip liner. It's the best. Matches with any lip gloss lip stick or wear it on its own.
Best lip liners ever
Martini Bombshell from San Diego, CA
MAC makes the best lip liners ever! Not only is there a wide shade range to choose from, they sharpen very easily, and don't drag. They are very precise, and last a long time. Even if you've had the same pencil for a while, they don't dry out, flake, or break.
Spice 4 ever!

Spice is the best lipliner ever!! Lasts all day with minimal touch ups!
