Most Helpful Positive Review Updated version of Line Stylist
If you know about Maybelline's Line Stylist eyeliner, this is basically that but with a creamier formula. I personally loved the line stylist but I think they've been in the process of discontinuing it for a while now. The line stylist did have it's flaws, it would break off in chunks and it seemed like it would run out quickly. This doesn't seem like it will break off as much. The formula is very creamy and more comparable to gel liner. It also says it has more product in it, so maybe it will last longer too. I also love that the packaging is a bright pink color. All of my eyeliners are very similar shapes and come in black packaging, so having the bright pink makes it super easy to pick this liner out when I'm in a hurry. My one complaint with it is that it can be hard to make a thin line. Typically the thinnest I can get it and still look good is the width of the product. Looking at it, it looks pretty small but if you have small eyes, it can be pretty wide. I'm not saying you can't get it thinner though, it's just harder especially if the tip is almost always completely flat.
Most Helpful Critical Review It's Ok... Not bad
The skinny gel pencil has some positives and negatives:
-The size is perfect to create wing liner
-The liner glides on smoothly
-A decent black liner (I purchased the Defining Black color)
-The black hue is not a vibrant black
-The liner looks grey in the lash line
-The liner did not stay in the waterline
This is not a bad product. I would recommend this product to makeup beginners.

Trash! Literally melts away into black smudges! Never buying again! Please don't waste your money on this! 😠
Probably the worst makeup product I've ever purchased
this product is awful from TX
I should have listened to the other reviews - i'm going to throw this away. First, it doesn't go on easy - you have to give a slightly firm hand to make it go on smoothly (otherwise it skips). but when you do that, the pencil breaks. I can't twist much out either or it breaks - firm hand or not. It goes on very heavy, doesn't blend lighter well. Totally raccoon eyes & im used to gel pencils. just horrible, not sure how this made it through testing by the company.
Crumbles as you apply
MeMe from Slidell
The eyeliner is so skinny, it breaks off as you apply it. Going back. Does Maybelline even test a product before releasing it??
Gathers in tear ducts
Time2livelife from California
Bought this because it's Tati approved. It's a good eyeliner but on me it gathers in my tear ducts and I find it kind of hard to work with.
Salt & Pepper Senior from South Carolina
Tried for a week and removed mid-morning because grey product applies stark black and very unevenly, globs to lash base, & flakes terribly. Longer the wear - worse the look & flakes on face and in eyes. Flat tip before first application was clumsy and never pointed. Hoped for option to Stila steel grey Stay All Day Waterproof liner to save $$, but this is definitely not the answer. Not enough affordable quality or subtle color choices available for aging users past the 'Hunger Games make-up' stage who want a softer and cleaner look
So creamy at first, then doesn't budge
Leanna from San Francisco
Glides on so easily and makes a thin but seriously solid black line, which is great, but it does seems like a lot more product is used compared to my other retractable liners so might go through it more quickly. After it's applied, it does NOT budge or flake off...I never use waterproof makeup, so learning how to remove it at the end of the day was an ordeal...
great but first users beware
mch from la.
i love this product but definitely you need to get use to this tip. yes its super fragile, so don't twist alot out or it will break. use small short strokes and the color is buildable. my favorite liner. everyone just need to realize it is a gel.
I LOVE THIS

I use this to tightline and it doesn't transfer at all and last pretty well (even through certain activities 👀👀) so this is a winner in my book lmaooo
Great lower lash liner
Rita from Michigan
I bought this for an elderly person so I could apply sorry more precise liner to the upper lid. After that, I ended up using the remainder of the product on myself for a precise lower lash line. I am hooked now. My eyes tear a lot and this stays put. I can do a thick or thin line that brings out my lower lashes.
Application is not smooth
Tisha-Wisha from Corpus Christi Texas
I bought this because it looked great on a friend. I guess my eyelids are too loose because it not go on smoothly. I am searching for a replacement.

I picked this up hoping for something I can put in my tightline. I used to use normal liners but they are typically too thick and messy to get a clean tightline. I've tried the Tarte Sugar Rush version but at twice the amount and considering house soft these liners 10 to be, it didn't seem very cost efficient. Even though the sugar rush version lost a little bit longer, the Maybelline liner is just as great because it's pigmented and comes off pretty easily. because of how small the tip is, application is so easy I don't even need to lift up my eyelid to get to my tightline or feel like I'm jabbing a pencil into my eye. The glide is super smooth so it makes application really fast and easy and you pretty much get a nice dark line.
Total waste of money
jennyfromtheblock from Houston
While the concept is good, the execution is AWFUL. This liner is so soft it's impossible to use on its own. To be effective, you have to transfer the product onto a liner brush and apply it that way. It breaks if you apply any pressure to it at all. And it's so soft, big glops end up sticking to the base of my lashes. Oh, and it irritates my eyes like crazy. Overall, a big fail.
Used to be good

Not sure what happened with this one (unless I just got a bad batch). First off, I never realized this was considered waterproof (as I'm fairly certain it's not listed in the description...or maybe it's not listed on the packaging—one or the other is what through me off). I believe I randomly came across the fact by mistake...which was great because I was in the market for a WP liner. But...it goes on really wonky (I could not make a normal "line" to save my life). And, after using it on one eye alone, the top would go completely flat and I'd have to twist it again to get more product for the other eye. Again, this used to be an awesome liner but now it's definitely not something I'd recommend.
Love this so far!
Kiki from Philadelphia, PA
Almost every eyeliner I have ever tried did not work. They would go on smooth and look nice but shortly after it barely looked like I had any on. I decided to give this one a try and love it. It's a very dark black. So smooth and long lasting as well.
Will buy again

My new eye liner from now on
This is the best eyeliner!!!

I feel the store needs to emphasize customer service to ALL the employees!!! There are A LOT of employees at Ulta that lack those skills and maybe need to get a different job! The majority have no customer service skills, but the ones that do are awesome!! I think customer service needs to be focused on more when hiring and at evaluation time! I have talked to other customers that feel it is hard to get friendly help or they are just avoided by the staff when shopping at Ulta!! I'm so happy to have the store on West Main St. in Kalamazoo, MI!! The store is so congested with all the displays in the isles! It is hard to get around during the busy times, so I go late evening. So happy to not have to go to the Portage, MI Ulta anymore!!!!
This is my 2nd one.

I like this product very much. Also, inexpensive.
Vanni from Michigan
This is a new favorite eyeliner for me! I wanted to try this out after seeing one of my favorite eyeliners for my waterline were no longer being made. I will be using this from now on!
Smudges on oily skin :(
Ashley from Irvine
I love this pencil because it makes winged eyeliner so easy to apply and I can't do it with any other pencil but within hours it will smudge off and transfer around my eye
Okay, but not worth a dime
Gabbie from USA
The color deposit is great, when you get it on your eye. The liner itself is so weak that even gently pressing it on your eyelid causes it to break, getting all oveR EVERYTHING
Really good for the price!
Megan from USA
I really enjoyed this eyeliner. Impressed actually. The main thing I'm looking for in an eyeliner is longevity and smudge-proof. Stays on ALL day and does not smudge! I personally think it stays on better than some high-end liners. Yeah, it is really small but I enjoy that. It's easier for me to use.
Breaks easily, but goes on well
Jen from MA
This eye pencil is so small when you roll it up even a little and try to apply it it breaks off in your eye usually. I like the pigment it gives as far as eyeliner goes but I wouldn't buy it again.
Taylor from Ohio
I'm really impressed with this eyeliner! I haven't worn liner on my bottom lash line for years because I haven't been able to find a product that doesn't smudge within a few hours. I've used this pencil for a week and it stays intact for the entire day. I haven't used it for my upper lash line, so I'm not sure how it would work there (I use a liquid liner), but it's perfect for the purpose I bought it for.
phoenixrising from Las vegas NV
Does not wear off or smudge. Just perfect. I wish there were MORE COLORS in this formula. Reminds me of Stila liners except thinner therefore more precise.
Chruisteen from TX
I tried this for the first time today. I had contacts in and the formula is so creamy, a little chunk formed on my waterline and ended up inside my eye ?? I'm not even sure how to explain, but the eyeliner ended up inside my eye over my contact and I had to take my contact out and clean it. I ended up wiping off the bit I had in my waterline and didn't bother putting any on the other eye. I wanted to try something new, maybe less drying since the one I use now dries my eyes sometimes if I put too much, but this was a definite no for me. Going in the trash
