Most Helpful Positive Review Not for me, but Hubby LOVES it!
So here's my issue with this one. I had the ACV Rinse from a FFF box that I love, when I went to buy a new bottle from Ulta I saw this product. Price tag scared me, but I wanted more for my hair so I bought it. The smell isn't pretty. It's a vinegar base product so I knew it was coming. Still, if you don't like vinegar or can't at all handle it then don't buy this. It was difficult to get down on my actual scalp and I felt like I was more so cleaning my roots in a very poor manner. It didn't spread easily in my hair and I felt like it was just clumped in one area even though I tried to spread it. I ended up using half the jar just to try to cover my scalp. Washing it out was awful. It took forever and I ended up having to wash my hair twice. All in all this product just wasn't for me. THANKFULLY my money wasn't wasted though. My husband has a dry scalp, acne, and some type of fungal issue behind his ears. I told him to give this a whirl since his hair is MUCH shorter than mine and see if it helps his issues. After his first use his hair was so remarkably soft and he said that this really helped clean all the junk off his scalp. He said he had nail bends full of grime and build up that he got off. He used it behind his ears as well and the fungal issue went away. Since then his scalp has been healthier, no sores or acne, and no fungal issue behind his ear. I would 100% recommend this item to anyone with short hair, but long hair I think you should try the rinse instead.
Most Helpful Critical Review Difficult to Get Down to Scalp
My scalp tends to get some frustrating buildup so I wanted to try this to see if there would be an improvement. Unfortunately, the product was so thick that it was challenging to spread to all my roots. I really like Himalayan Sea Salt, it's great stuff and my new favorite toothpaste uses it (Shout out to Weleda!), so my hopes were that the sea salt in this scrub would work the same wonders, but the salt crystals were gigantic and not getting smaller with water exposure. Bummer.
I think this product could work for other people that can get it to their roots. As for me, I'll have to go with a finer formula. I followed this product with the ACV Rinse. I bought them in a kit to try all the products. Both say do not expect lather, but they kind of lathered!

This product is quite simply AMAZING! I review cosmetics and self-care products often for my work, and this is at the tippy-top of my list! I use once a week the really get a good cleanse on my hair and remove product build-up. Also, literally better than any anti-dandruff shampoo money can buy with the chemicals- a win in my book! It always feels like a mini-at home-spa treatment for me. I LOVE this product and HIGHLY recommend!
Worked wonders on my scalp psoriasis
Kayla from Los Angeles
I was skeptical about the price initially. I have been struggling with scalp psoriasis for years now and nothing has really worked. I used this as a last resort before visiting a doctor and wow. I use it with psoriasis shampoo and it works wonders. Highly recommend it to anyone in a similar position.
I will continuously buy this product.

Not knowing my scalp condition initially (psoriasis), I started to research the different things that I was experiencing and looking for natural remedies. While on that journey, I came across a few key ingredients that's said to help combat my scalp problem. I then looked for a product that contains those ingredients, voila! I found this product and been using it every since. It even helped an area of my scalp that was not producing growth, due to psoriasis. That was a major plus and totally unexpecting!
Finally Some Relief!
April from Columbus, OH
I have always associated scalp buildup in direct correlation to a dandruff fungus, without considering product irritation and product buildup as well (I use a lot of product). Anyways, I've struggled with an irritated scalp for 15+ years. I've only ever used dandruff shampoo, and it has never alleviated the cause. I've been switching my shampoo every few months for years thinking that would alleviate it as well.
I went "cheap" on a $20 Nexxus at first because it's what I discovered first. It was hard to get to my scalp because of how thick it is and it left my scalp feeling oily while my hair was totally stripped and I could barely take a brush through it.
Fast forward to the dpHUE scrub which feels AMAZING. It does stink, because it is ACV based, but you don't smell it after you wash it out. The product has less viscosity than the Nexxus so it reaches the scalp better, and does not strip. My scalp feels the best that it's felt in a long time, and my hair is clean, soft, and shiny!
It has taken me years to mitigate the symptoms and discomfort of a sensitive scalp. I'm so glad I found this.

This stuff has made a HUGE difference for my scalp. My scalp it sooo itchy and flaky. When it flairs up it's bad. I use this 1-2 times a week just on my bad spots and it the only thing that calms it down. I ran out for a while and I paid dearly for it. Won't even run out again!
I will buy this product till the end of time

I LOVE the ACV salt scrub!!!! Used it for the first time today. My hair has never been so CLEAN. Feels weird to admit that. Squeaky clean. My hair took my styling products better and dried so soft. I have thin, flat hair and to see it shine and have some movement to it is amazing. Trying to not continuously run my hands thru it. I was concerned at the cost at first. After getting it and seeing how little I need to use ... and only once a week- this will last me a long time. Bravo!
itchy dry scalp begone
Shelby from TN
I actually bought this for my 8 year old daughter, we have tried EVERYTHiNG and her scalp gets so itchy. We began using this once a week combined with the ACV rinse and leave in spray and it has managed her itchy scalp while leaving her wedge cut super shiny. I'm happy to have finally found something that works for her.
Made me hair look salon fresh
Michee22 from Phoenix
I bought this product hoping to prolong my blowouts. I usually have to wash my hair every 48 hours due to my scalp getting greasy. I just used it , so haven't tested to see if it prolongs time in between washes. However this with the APV hair wash made my hair look salon fresh. It was easy to brush, which is normally isn't, and I blow dried it in 8 minutes. Definitely worth it!

Doesn't smell the greatest but it works amazing it got rid of all the buildup and left my scalp feeling so clean.
Gets the job done
Kiley from Cincinnati
I got this scrub about a month ago because I was having random flakiness on my scalp and needed good exfoliation. This scrub works, gets deep into your scalp with enough massaging. Only downside is it smells SO BAD! Like I literally gag every time I use it in the shower. Wouldn't recommend if you can't handle bad smells. Good luck.
Better that I expected
Amy from Paramus, NJ
I get occasional dandruff and my scalp gets itchy and irritated sometimes. I have only used this scrub once but loved the feeling. The sea salt adds a nice scrub to the scalp while massaging it in. I really liked how it feels do I looked at the ingredients and it also has avocado and other good stuff. I will continue using it.
Worst Product Ever

I used the product and it tangled my hair really bad and now I have to cut my hair. It really messed up my hair and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone!!
Becky from Florida
We purchased this for my husband who has heavy dandruff. Nothing was working...tar shampoos...prescription shampoos were getting too expensive and on and on. This product is amazing. It does have a strong odor in the shower but it doesn't linger afterwards. I have been buying it for over a year now and will never stop. It also lasts longer than you would think. Due to what it does, the price is not a issue.
Love this product
Cherish from Texas
I have used so many different shampoos/products to try and help with the buildup on my scalp I experience due to eczema and seborrheic dermatitis. Even products prescribed by my dermatologist. Nothing has worked as well as this! The smell of course is like ACV so not great, but I knew that was going to be the case. The benefits far outweigh the smell. I used it in the bathtub instead of the shower, and had no problem rinsing it out like others have mentioned. It is a little difficult to work into the scalp, so it takes a little time but it works perfectly. My scalp has never felt so relieved and clean, I feel like my hair will be so much healthier now.
Once you get over the smell

If you've had a couple too many quarantine cocktails- I would suggest skipping using this product till another day. Now- if it's a good morning scrub away with this- your head will feel amazing. The smell is just sour- like the name apple cider vinegar- do not expect shine shine and roses but expect shiny grim free hair. Will definitely purchase again!!
Great Hair Product

My daughter and I have eczema on our scalp, this really helped us with the itchiness and controlling the flakes we often get because of it.
Janelle from ND North Dakota
I tried this in the shower the first time. Seemed like it was working but then when I got done styling my hair I noticed that my scalp still had oil and gunk in it. So the second time I got my hair wet in the sink and tried the product while looking in the mirror with the same results as the first time. I read how to apply, with hair wet and to part in sections....it is way to hard to part your wet hair and causes too much damage to the hair to have it not work. My hair is medium length and medium thickness with waves so I should not have too big of an issue but it was so hard and I could feel my hair was getting snarled and tangled. So messy if not in the shower and had to used a ton of product, after these two attempts it is half gone.
Works really great! Just doesn't have the greatest smell.
Lexie from Wyoming
I love how well it scrubs my scalp and cleans it up! The smell of the product just turns me away a little bit. I definitely hold my breath when applying it, but I will continuing buying it again and again and just dealing with the smell with how well it works!
Give It a Whirl
HM from MA
I'm glad I bought and tried before reading the reviews. I saw Justin Anderson recommending this product to someone on IG and wanted that clean feeling scalp he was preaching about. I'm like the next girl trying to go as long as I can between washes without scaring my husband away so I wanted an intense cleansing feeling when I do wash my hair. Well, just like everyone's saying the smell... I honestly almost gagged... but pushed through, scrub a dub dubbed with the product and followed up with my usual shampoo and a quick hair mask. Super impressed with how smooth my hair was after. I just blow dried and I swear even the blonde highlights look better. So, I mean if you can afford this and want a nice cleanse in between your stretched out washes, grab this.
This is a must have!

I love this! I use it once a week. And it leaves my hair like if I just visited the salon and had a scalp treatment done. Only bad thing is that it doesn't smell nice. But I love the consistency and feel of it.
It's amazing if used correctly
HeatherR from San Antonio
This is a AMAZING product IF you know what to expect and use it correctly. To start of, I want to describe my hair type: VERY thick, coarse, poofy, and between wavy and curly. I have a lot of hair, and if not properly maintained, very coarse and hard to manage hair, so I really baby it. I also have seborrheic dermatitis, and to my everlasting embarrassment, acne on my scalp. I really put a lot of effort into trying to treat this without drying out and damaging my hair. From previous reviews I thought that it was a dry feeling scrub and that's why it was hard for others to rub it through their hair. That's not the case. It's a very creamy base, with salt particles in it. I thought it would be like Lush's big shampoo, but that always burned my scalp whereas this is very soothing. YES, it smells like ACV. The smell does go away though, it won't linger in your hair. If you've ever used any type of clarifying product then like those, this will leave your hair feeling coarse after use. Don't be afraid of that though. When your hair dries it'll feel so silky. I strongly suggest following the instructions and sectioning off your hair. After you wet and section off your hair, get a little bit of this on the very tips of your fingers and touch it to the parts you made in your hair. It's creamy and will spread very easily this way. I did this and had no issue covering my whole scalp. I also flip my head over and scrub just before rinsing out. I personally had no issues rinsing, but I did experience very dry feeling roots. I don't recommend using this on anything but your scalp and roots for that reason.I followed up with shampoo and conditioner, and then my leave in and oil that I use afterwards and was left with silky, brighter, shiner, cleaner hair with no acne or buildup o I was honestly shocked at how soothing it was. I love it! A little went a long way and it was just what I needed since I wash my hair once a week. I use it every two weeks and it's helped my dermatitis.

I received a sample of this in an order. I finally used it and am thoroughly impressed with it! My hair is highlighted, and I use purple shampoo and conditioner, but THIS product is going to be my go between. It left my hair super soft, shiney, and my scalp felt great. I ordered my first tub of it today and can't wait to use it periodically. Love it!! I wish it wasn't quite so expensive though.

The smell is awful & I have a curly hair it getting worse
Sarah J from ATL
Let me start off by saying it's AMAZING.
ofc there's reviews complaining about the smell, HELLO!!! Have you ever used apple cider vinegar ??? Ofc it smells. However, it's not overbearing. This has helped with flakes I get in my hair and stubborn greasy buildup that never seems to go away with my showers.
It is definitely worth giving a shot, try a travel size. This made my scalp feel light and clean, I left it in for about 5 to 10 mins and showered as usually and blow dried my hair and it looks clean and healthy.
